Charles heard the strange scrambling noise in his head, louder than ever, and his head jerked to the left. The team leader began his speech, but Charles couldn't concentrate. Everyone's eyes were focused on the team leader. It was just like they didn't hear the noise he had heard.

“Is everything okay?” Vera, who had noticed his head jerking, and his expression stiffen, asked, and he looked at her.

“There was a kind of noise. A… a loud, uh… what's the word for it? A loud scrambling noise. I heard it loud and clear, but no one else seemed to have heard it.” He explained, still looking over at the people who listened to the team leader, as he briefed Charles on the qualities of the robot once more.

“Uh… maybe we missed it. You know, the team leader was talking.” Vera replied, and gave a little smile, before giving back her attention to the team leader.

The applause continued, but Charles was unable to see. Could it have been something he ate? No, it couldn't be. He was yet to hear of something edible that could cause loss of sight all of a sudden, unexpectedly. He knew he was probably being watched, so he plastered a smile on his face, and began to clap along with the others, but behind his smile, his mind was a jumble of thoughts. What was happening? A moment later, just as fast as Charles' sight had disappeared, it reappeared again, and the brightness of the room made him snap it shut. “Is everything alright?” Vera, who was next to him, said, looking concerned. “Yes, yes. Everything is.” Charles replied, as he stood up. He hadn't seen the last emotion the robot could detect, but knew it had been great.“It is amazing. I commend you all on a job well done.” He said, and they all clapped once more. Charles would have said more, but was still baffled about the sudden vision loss that had come and gone so fast. Call the cops and ambulance.” Charles shouted at the security men, who were stunned at the man who had suddenly taken his life, so he wouldn't be forced to say anything. They immediately worked out their fingers on their phones, dialing the line of the cops and the ambulance. “Untie him. He needs to breathe.” Charles said, and the men who were not occupied with their phones, began to cut off the ropes with knives. The man coughed more, and tried to breathe, but it seemed like each intake of breath caused him inexplicable pain. “Darn…” he let out, and fell to the floor, writhing and shaking. His face began to have a horrible tint to it, and Charles began to get scared that he'd die, before the ambulance got
