Chapter Hundred And Twenty Three

Charles moved closer to Mrs. Campbell with a confused look on his face.

“What’s going on, Mrs. Campbell?”

“Welcome back, Mr. Charles.” She smiled weakly. “I’m just glad that my name was cleared, and that I have been released. Thank you for ensuring that they released me today.” She appreciated him.

Charles smiled, but he wasn’t satisfied with her answer yet, and he was waiting for more.

“I’m grateful you gave me a chance to work in this beautiful home, but at this point, I think I may not be able to handle working here again. I would love to go back to my hometown.” She said to Charles, and gave the floor a long stare.

Charles was a bit shattered because he knew he let her down, and she was no longer comfortable staying with him if she wasn’t able to gain his full trust.

He didn’t know how to make it up to her even when he really wanted her to stay, but he thought deeply to himself that it could probably be for the best if she left.
