Vera continued to stare at Louis as her cab drove past him, and unable to leave him waiting there, she stopped the driver.

“I'll get off here.” She said, and the driver stopped the car, after swerving off the road.

Vera pushed open the door, paid the man, and began to walk back to the cafe. As she did, her heart thumped loudly in her chest. As she walked, she seemed to be fighting a battle inside of her head.

'You don't know him.’ A voice said.

'Are you willing to throw away your feelings all because he's a stranger? He's bared himself to you, he's willing to love you.’ Another arose.

‘Don’t forget that strangers are dangerous, Vera.'

'If Louis leaves, you'll be the one hurting twice as much because you could have been with him, you could have allowed yourself to find happiness.
