Cora flinched at his cold words and dark aura and the truth hit her.

The man sitting in front of her wasn't the snobbish, sarcastic, funny and jovial Aidan..... He'd changed, she didn't know why she decided that he had but she felt it.

She cleared her head by discarding the thoughts immediately.

"Cora?" He called calmly...too calmly.

She looked up at him and she nearly screamed her remaining voice out.

"Aidan! Your eyes!" She said loud enough for him to hear, her voice was almost inaudible.

"Don't worry about me...you need to rest." He said casually and stood up from the bed.

"How can you tell me not to worry, your eyes are bloodshot. I'm calling the doctor right away." She announced and made to stand up, but she staggered and Aidan held her in time before she landed hard on the floor.

"Don't try to babysit me Cora, you need rest and that's final. Don't be all tough all the time, sometimes...be calm and let your body rest." He lectured the awed Cora who was too tired to even talk.
