David and Abari walked through the forest on their way back to the village but before they could leave the forest David heard the roar of a high up, in the sky above his head.
David then looked to see what could make a roar so high up and then he saw, flying high up in the sky a red fire dragon covered with scales that were as red as flames, and on the fire-dragon was a man.
David couldn't help but smile as he had never before seen a dragon in real life before, it looked as elegant and graceful as he flew through the night sky but then with a loud roar, almost as though it was in pain it disappeared and the man who rode on its back began to fall.
Abari who saw the dragon and how it disappeared just stood there in shock, wondering why the dragon would disappear and allow the dragon warrior who rode on it to fall.
David, without much of a thought in his mind then rushed, jumping from tree to tree, using the power of the wind to propel him further and further to the sky with each and every jump he made until he was close enough and then turned to air before blowing the man safely down to the ground.
Abari then rushed to David who held the man on the dragon.
Abari gasped upon seeing the man as he was dressed in red armor with the golden dragon crust on the armor’s chest, gravely wounded and unconscious.
Upon seeing how severe the wounds on the man body were Abari quickly realized that the reason the man’s dragon disappeared was because he was too weak to sustain it.
Abari recognized the crust on the man’s armor and knew who he was and upon realizing who he was she was able to know what inflicted some many severe wounds upon him.
Abari’s mind then began to fill up with fear and worry, wondering if the evil she had been trying to keep David from had found its way to him.
“Abari, he needs help” said David, looking Abari with fear in his eyes as blood from the man’s wounds continuously sipped out and David body as he held on to him and the floor underneath them.
Abari, upon hearing what David said came out of her deep thoughts and then went to help David carry the man’s unconscious body back to their home in the village.
Once in their home, Abari place him on the bed where she usually places her patience and then began to treat the man.
She stripped the man of his armor and then dressed and bandaged all his wounds, when she was done with that, she went the cabinet, where she kept all the herbs and plants she used for her medicine.
She took some herbs from the cabinet and then heat it up in a stove, once the herbs were heated up thoroughly, she used the power of the wind to suck up the entire vapor produced while heating up the herb and put it small glass jar.She then went to the unconscious man with the jar filled with the vapor of the herb and then placed it on his nose before opening the jar and using the power of the wind to blow all the vapor in to him through his nose.
Immediately after inhaling the vapor the man woke up, opening his eyes with the first thing to eyes made contact with being Abari.
“Who are you and where am I” asked the man as he looked around the house confused and wondering where he was and how he there.
Before Abari could answer the man’s question David knocked at the door and then spoke softly from behind the door, “can I come in now?”
Abari smiled upon hearing David’s voice before saying, “Yes, you can, he’s awake now”David then opened the door and walked in.
The man then looked at David and then turned too looked Abari, wondering who both of them were.
“This is David and I’m Abari we are both air dragon warriors, you’re in my home, in a small village called Dugrunal” said Abari.
“Dugrunal, I’ve never heard of such a place,” said the man.
The man then looked down at himself and noticed he was no longer wearing his armor.
“Where’s is my armor?” asked the man.
“I removed it so I could treat your wounds” said Abari.
The man then looked at the bandages wrapped around his wounds and then smiled feeling grateful to Abari for dress his wounds before he bled to death.
“Thank you, I owe you my life,” said the man.
“Don’t thank me, David was the one who said you from falling after you lost consciousness and your dragon disappeared,” said the man.
The man then turned to look at David, now filled with even more gratitude towards him for saving his life.
“Thank you, boy” said the man to David.
“No need for thanks sir, I just saw you falling and knew that I had to do something, I wasn’t really thinking at the time just acting on instinct” said David with a playful smile.
“Well, your instincts save my life and for that you have my eternal gratitude,” said the man.
The man then turned to Abari and said, “You must be a really proud mother to have a son like him” said the man mistaking David for Abari’s son.
“No, David isn’t my son” said Abari.
“I don’t really have any parents and even if I didn’t remember them” said David with his face bowed down and sadness in his eyes, trying his best not to think about the parents he may or may not have but he couldn’t remember.
“Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t know” said the man, apologizing for making such a wrong assumption about David and Abari’s relationship.
“It’s quite alright, even though I don’t know who my parents are I’m happy with Abari, she is like a mother to me” David while looking at Abari with a smile on his face.
Abari upon hearing what David said smiled before saying, “you were right about one thing, I am proud of him even though he isn’t my son”.
The man couldn’t help both smile as he could sense the warm and loving atmosphere created by both David and Abari, it was actually hard for him to believe that David and Abari didn’t share blood as their relationship closely resembled that of a mother and her child.
“Sir if you don’t mind me asking; who are you and why are you so badly hurt” asked David.
“David, stop prying, it’s not our business to know who he is and why he is so badly wounded” said Abari, scolding David for the question he asked as she didn’t want him to know who the man was or what caused the many wounds on him.
“It’s quite alright, don’t blame the boy for being curious, curiosity is an admirable trait after all,” said the man.
“Admirable, didn’t you hear about what it did to the cat?” said Abari.
“That was a cat not a strong young able boy like him,” said the man.
“You are clearly delusional which is quite normal considering all the blood you had lost due to your wounds” said Abari before she grabbed David by the arm.
“Come on David, let’s go and leave our guest to rest, recover his strength and heal” said Abari before dragging David out of the room, not even giving him a chance to say a single word.
Night fell and as it did it soon came time to have supper.
David offered to take some food to the man who was still rest in the room but Abari stopped, saying that she didn’t want him to pester that man while he rested and took some food to the man herself.
As she left David could not help but wonder why Abari was trying her best to keep him away from the man, first by taking him out of the room and secondly by prevented him from bring food to him.
David could help but feel there was something Abari did not want him to find out, something the man knew.Abari went to the man’s room with a tray of food.
The man, who was lying of the bed, immensely weak with and drained of almost all his strength smiled with happiness when he saw Abari come in with the tray of food.
“Finally, I felt myself slowly dying of starvation” said the man with his eyes set on the food Abari brought.
Abari smiled before giving the man the food, seeing that he was like a food deprived lion that was ready to make short work of any form of food given to him.
The man, immediately the food was given to him, did not waste any time, he stuffed his mouth with, eating like a man who had not seen anything to eaten anything in days.
In a matter of minutes, the man was done, finishing every single thing on the plate without even leaving single morsel of food in his plate.
“Sorry about my table manners, I’m not normally this aggressive with food,” said the man.
“It’s quite alright, after a warrior of the Golden Dragon Guard has to eat to regain his strength for battle” said Abari. The man just smiled upon hearing what Abari said.
“So, you recognized the crust of the Golden Dragon Guard on my uniform and figured out who I was,” said the man.
“That and the wounds inflicted upon you, seeing all the many wounds on your body I could easily tell from all my experience as a healer that they were made by dark dragon warriors” said Abari.
“Experience, you’ve deal with them before?” asked the man.
Abari just sighed before saying, “yes in the past during the days of the Dark Dragon Lord”.
Abari paused for a moment as memories of her past filled her mind, remembering how many people had lost their lives because of the war the Dark Dragon Warrior started all those years ago.
“I can tell just from looking in to your eyes, you’ve experienced a great deal of pain during the days of the Dark Dragon Lord. He took a lot from us during does day, thank goodness the Golden Dragon ended him before he could end this world,” said the man.
“The past is dead and gone, we should not trouble our mind thinking about events of the past, rather we should worry about things of the present and the future” said Abari as she did not want to talk about her past during the days of the Dark Dragon Lord walked the earth as it brought her a great deal of pain, pain she was trying hard to forget.
“I just want to know who you are and why you’re here” asked Abari, fearing that the man’s arrival might be because of matters that concerned David.
“Relax” said the man, seeing that Abari was tense and worried.
“My name is Binaru and as for the reason I’m here, wounded and barely able to stand on my two feet, well it’s not a story I enjoy telling but...” said the man before sighing deeply, remembering what happened before David and Abari found him.
“The Golden Dragon Generals assigned me and a few others in the Golden Dragon Guard on what seemed like a simple mission at first. Our mission was simple; word had gotten out about the location of a small group dark dragon warriors, our mission was to find and deal with them before they caused any trouble but we underestimated their numbers and instead of it being a small ground, it was an entire army. I and my men were overwhelmed by their numbers and because of that they all died, I managed to escape barely alive, summoning my dragon and flying as far away from there as possible. Guess my body gave out in the middle of me journey and well, you know the rest” said Binaru.
Abari mind calmed down upon hearing what Binaru said, feeling ease because she knew he was not after David.
“I still can’t believe the dark dragon warriors are still out there, I always thought after the Dark Dragon Lord fell, they would as well” said Abari.
“It seems are those the dark dragon warriors are like a snake that refuses to stop slithering even after its head has been cut off. If anything, the snake continues to grow with each passing moment waiting for the perfect time to strike and I fear the dark dragon warriors will strike soon” said Binaru.
“What do you think their planning?” asked Abari.
“Probably to finish what their master started all those years ago, to conquer and dominate the world at any and all costs” said Binaru.
Abari eyes widen with fear upon hearing what Binaru said.It seems as though the war that began all those years ago was far from over as the dark dragon warrior still roamed the earth, growing and increasing in their numbers with each passing day waiting for the perfect time to strike.
Abari then thought of David, knowing that she had to keep him as far away from the war as possible, the dark dragon warrior must never find him because if they do, they may doom the entire world through him.
Abari took a deep breath in before taking the empty plate from Binaru.
“Rest up soldier, you’ll need all the strength in the world to fight” said Abari.
“I fear that even that wouldn’t be enough” said Binaru with a deep sigh.
Abari upon hearing what he said nothing knowing that he did not speak out of foolishness, understanding it would difficult fighting an enemy who kept growing more and more powerful as time passed must be.
Abari just left with a fear and worried filled mind, thinking only about one thing, the dark dragon warriors.
The next day Abari had to leave to collect some herbs from the forest and since she could not leave Binaru alone in the state he was in David had to stay behind to watch him as she felt more comfortable leaving David alone with Binaru now knowing that Binaru would not hurt him.She also hoped that he would tell David about the horrors he had experienced in his time as a Golden Dragon Guard, hoping that upon hearing those stories he would be discouraged to leave.David who was now alone with Binaru was free to ask him any question and Abari was there to stop him.“Who are you?” asked David.Binaru just smiled before answering David’s question, saying, “My name is Binaru and I’m a Golden Dragon Guard”.“What is Golden Dragon Guard?” asked David.Binaru smiled once more before answering David’s question, find David’s curiosity amusing.“The Golden Dragon Guards are a group of dragon warrior who had taken an oath to fight and protect the worlds from the dark dragon warriors” said Binaru.
As David slept, he had a strange dream, similar to the memory that came to him when Binaru spoke about the dark dragon warriors. In his dream David saw himself standing face to face with the fire dragon warrior he saw in his memory, surrounded by dragon warriors in the forest.“Come with us now boy and we promise not to harm you” said the fire dragon warrior.“No, you can’t make me,” said David.“You will come with us whether you want to or not” said the fire dragon warrior before he grabbed David by the arm.“Let go of ME!!!!!!” said David as his voice slowly became as deep and ferocious as that of a dragon and his eyes glowing with violet light. After David spoke a flash of light consumed everything for a brief moment but when the light began to disappear, David witnessed something that would send chills down any man’s spine. All the dragon warriors that surrounded him laid down on the ground dead and lifeless, some of them were impaled with spike made out of stone that sprouted out
Dragon warriors were not known only for their tremendous strength and power; they were also remarkable fast healers as fatal wounds that would take months to heal in a regular man would take a few days to heal in a dragon warrior because of this Binaru’s wounds healed fast and he was able to recover in a matter of days. It was now time for David to make a decision as Binaru, dress in his Golden Dragon Guard armor, stood at the door ready to leave, having been fully healed of all his injuries. David and Abari stood before him to see him off. David though, had his head bowed down as still hadn’t decided yet and he knew he had a make up his mind fast before Binaru left. “Here you go” said Abari as she gave him a bag filled with food. “What’s this for?” asked Binaru. “Think of it as a thank you for fighting to keep our world safe from the threat of the dark dragon warrior” said Abari. Binaru smiled upon hearing what Abari said before saying, “Thank you, honestly I don’t know what I
David and Binaru flew through the skies, above the clouds on fire dragon’s back. As the rode David looked down to see the magnificent fields, hills, valleys and rivers below where creatures of all kind lived, like the green antelope with fur as green as the grass it grazed upon and antlers that resembled the wooden branches of a tree or the serpent, a snake like creature that lived the rivers below that had the ability spew out massive jets of water out of its mouth. David then looked up to sky above his head and saw colorful birds called rainbow canaries who sang melodious as they flew passed them. David could not believe how incredible and mystical the world as never before seen such breath taking, beautiful and mystifying lands before. The sun soon began to slowly disappear and the darkness of the night began to consume everything. David and Binaru had been riding the dragon throughout the entire day and as night began to all Binaru knew he had to land the dragon so they could
After riding through the sky for a long time as night began to fall David heard Binaru say, “take a look David, we are finally here”. David then looked down below and saw massive building that bared the crust of all five dragons; a water dragon, fire dragon, air dragon, earth dragon and a massive golden dragon at the center. David then realized that the building must have been the Dragon Academy Binaru told him about. As they flew down closer to the Dragon Academy David noticed what looked like an ancient golden temple not too far from the academy. “What is that?” asked David, pointing at the golden temple. “That, it’s the Temple of The Golden Dragon Warrior, not much is known about it other than its doors can only be opened by a golden dragon warrior. Legend says that within the temple walls is hidden an artifact of great and immense power” said Binaru. “What kind of artifact?” asked David? “No more knows for sure though rumors say the artifact hidden inside the temple was wha
David was dragged through the empty academy’s halls by Flani. “Where are you taking me?” asked David as Flani continued to drag him. “The room you’ll be staying in while you are allowed to stay within the academy’s walls” said Flani. Flani dragged David through the hallway, passing different rooms. As they walked through the hall way David noticed strange symbols on the doors on some of the rooms they passed, some had a symbol of fire, some of earth, some of water and others of air. “Why are they symbols on those doors?” asked David. “Those doors lead to the rooms where the students of the academy stay, the ones with the fire symbol are for fire dragon warriors, water for water dragon warriors, and earth for earth dragon warriors. All the students in the academy are currently fast asleep, observing the curfew, all students of the academy are expected to fast asleep before the tenth hour at night” said Flani. Flani then took him to one of the rooms that had an air symbol on it.
The academy, though could be consider a single school made for young dragon warriors, it was actually made up of different schools within it, these schools were designed to teach and train specific dragon warriors. The school of water trained water dragon warriors like Susan, the school of fire trained fire dragon warriors like Steven, the angry boy that almost fought David, the school of earth trained earth dragon warriors like the boy with black spectacle and finally the air school thought air dragon warriors like David and Flora. Flora had shown David the other schools of the Dragon Academy, explaining what they were and warning him to never go to any other school apart from the school for air dragon warriors as students were not allowed to interfere in the affairs of any other school apart from theirs. David felt bad upon hearing that he couldn’t go to the other schools, wanting to explore more about the Dragon Academy and also to maybe pay a visit to Susan in the water school.
Once they returned back to the Dragon Academy Flora informed David that they had one more class to go to, combat class, the all class every student from the different schools of the Dragon Academy had to attend. David upon hearing that there was a class where all the students of the Dragon Academy were allowed to attend together became excited as it meant he would be able to see Susan again. Flora took David to combat class, once there David saw that all students in the academy had gathered there. The students there were participating in different forms of combat practice, whether it was in the form of light sparring, weapon training or practicing their combat skills on a fighting dummy. David looked at the students as they practiced their combat training and couldn’t help but wonder why the academy would want to train their students in the art of combat. David did not really understand the concept of violence and it was because of this lack of understanding that drove his curios
