Karma

Daemon has an hour to prepare before he goes to the training hall. Within this time, he’s able to rest a bit inside his new room. There is a single white bed on the side that’s sticking to the wall. Soft enough for him to feel like he’s sinking just by putting some of his weight on it.

He doesn’t have time to sleep yet though. He has to finish this trial that’s given to him first. Though he does find it unjust that he’s receiving the trial on his first day and, without any proper orientation, he has no choice but to accept it. The standards of the Elites aren’t something he can change just by making a complaint.

Nevertheless, this is still better than the treatment he received in the Academy all his life. A place he’d rather not think about now. Though he can’t help but let his thoughts drift to it for a while. Not because he’s haunted by the nightmares it left him with but, because he’s excited.
