Vana's POV
“You okay?” I asked out of concern to Jerome as we both stand up from the ground, alarmed by the sudden assault on us.
“I should be the one asking you that,” Jerome grunted, propping his elbow up to pull himself up on his feet. “What the heck is that?”
“I think I have a hunch of who it could have been…” I murmured, eyes turning into slits.
My eyes travelled down to the ground, gazing down at the shadow beneath my feet. I sensed the familiar aura coming from the shadow, grabbing my sickle from my back as I stab it to the shadow on the ground.
The blade hit the ground with a clacking sound, the shadow dispersing with a ripple effect. Jerome was startled at the action I made, his feet tripping back as he stares at me in confusion. I followed the shadow to where it retreated, closely watching it return to its owner.
