Getting A House

After more than two weeks in the hospital, Halsey was finally deemed fit to return back home.

The wooden door was pushed open and Collette gently led Halsey inside the house. The house was a small, simple space with basic furnishings and minimal decoration.

The walls were unpainted and the bare floor was covered in cheap carpet. There were a few chairs arranged around a coffee table, the furniture old, mismatched, and in need of repair.

The lighting was limited to a single overhead fixture. There were no curtains on the window and no decorative items such as pictures or plants making the pace feel bare and utilitarian.

"I'll make something for us to eat." Collette said as soon as she helped Halsey lay down.

Adair gulped down forcefully. "Why don't we just eat out? Remember the manager at Kings Hotel said we can pay for anything we eat with the card he gave us."

"And I told you he might've gotten the wrong person." Collette replied walking towards the kitchen sink which was situated
