Eric was discharged on the same day. Even though the doctor had advised him to take rest for a few more days, he didn’t. He got an artificial tooth attached, and he looked utterly pissed, so pissed even a crazed monkey wouldn’t want to go anywhere near him.

Brandon hated losing, but Eric loved dominating. Both were kind of similar but were also vastly different in their own ways.

As he walked out of the hospital, he felt angry, so angry about everyone and everything. Even though his driver opened the door to his car, he took a taxi and went somewhere.

As he was driving, he remembered his father’s words.

“When your mother was delivering you, a complication arose. The doctors said, they can only save one life. She chose you over her own life, but by God’s grace, she also lived. Even though she gave birth to more children afterward, you were always her favorite because of the emotions involved during your birth. So don’t do anything that would disappoint much less shame your mother.”

The board of directors roasted Adam for a full hour.“Do you even realize that we are a national company, sir?” one of them straightforwardly asked. “When we should be expanding world-wide and hone in on our global best practices and look for opportunities that the world economy has to offer, you’re acting like Conreid Lore is a local company and not even a national company. It makes me freaking wonder just what is your career mission? Don’t tell us, it’s to see Eve Canteens succeeding.”His sarcastic remarks garnered a few chuckles and snickers.Adam maintained a straight face regardless, but the same wasn’t the case for Evelyn because some of the directors were looking at her, thinking she was the reason for the project ‘Eve Canteens’ to come into existence.“Look at Mr. Ron from Ferver Lore. He’s now using the internet to teach foreign students from their homes. He’s clearly tech-savvy, but his plans are still giving his company all the momentum he could ask for. He’s like a superh

Adam had walked out of the house on his own volition while Evelyn was getting massaged. It was surprising for Sasha because as far as she knew, Adam wouldn’t really care about such sensibilities. Was Evelyn the reason for the change in Adam? She could only wonder. Nevertheless, she didn’t like the fact that Adam didn’t pay her straight away and told her to wait until the next session. She thought he just wanted to tease her, but she had no idea that Adam didn’t have the money to pay for the two massages.Evelyn said she would pay for herself, but Adam didn’t allow it.In the end, both left Sasha’s house, feeling good. The massage had definitely improved their mood.Adam went back to the Conreid mansion, whereas Evelyn returned to her apartment. To her shock, her father was talking with a bunch of guys in suits, and one of them was Ron Ferver! What the hell was this guy doing with her father? And what the hell was he doing in this place? When Evelyn was passing by, her father called he

Adam was in his room, resting on his bed, thinking about what the board of directors had said.“Career mission, huh. Yeah, most CEOs have that, but I’m only a temporary guy. I don’t have the luxury to have such a goal and remain steadfast in achieving it.“Be it the family or the coworkers, they aren’t willing to actively help me achieve the small goals I set. It feels like I’m in a prison even though there are no physical bars restricting my movements. I can only make my moves if those around me agree.“If this is how the children of rich businessmen feel, I can’t help but feel pity for them.”He picked up one of Parul’s books titled ‘Being the Boss.’The quote written on the first page itself made him think.‘Being the boss of any company is a tireless, thankless, and truly jesting job. To be the best of the best, try to bring a great change that benefits many people.’“This sounds so simple, yet brings a great change that benefits many people…” Adam took a deep breath. “It’s anythi

Jason hurriedly came down on an elevator. The moment the elevator opened and Irene saw her dad, she squeezed the accelerator, ran through the tables, and went straight for her dad. “Die, Jason Wamon! You living father of a trash!”“Irene, stop!” Jason yelled, but the car was only speeding. “Tch,” he took out a gun and shot both the tires. The car went out of control and hit a pillar. Luckily, she had the seatbelt on, so she suffered no damage, except a little bit of shock.Jason opened the door and checked upon her daughter. She seemed unconscious, so she tried to pull her out of the car, and she suddenly leaped at him and bit on his ear.“Urgh, Irene!” he grabbed her throat and squeezed it, forcing her to stop biting, but then she went for his nuts. A solid kick to Jason’s precious family jewels metamorphosed his face into a ugly pig as his knees gruffly kissed the floor.“What the fuck are we watching?” the guards and the staff couldn’t believe what they were actually seeing. Diane brought her family back to the Conreid mission the next morning. Eric asked her where she went last night, but neither she nor husband told her anything. However, he asked the children secretly, and they said they met their grandfather.Eric was greatly surprised because he didn’t even know where Parul was staying.“She met the old man? How?” he was beginning to feel tense, even though he woke up feeling good, thinking this was going to be a great day. “What did they talk about? Surely, he isn’t thinking of making her the heiress, or is he?” he gritted his teeth. “This old man… why can’t he just die already and give us some peace of mind.”The reason Parul was staying hidden from his sons was because they were meeting him too many times and began asking him about distributing the property, not at all considering the fact that he was unhealthy and that putting unnecessary stress on him could worsen his health.Though the three sons had already asked for their share plenty of time

The news of a fire breaking out at the SGNG store that Adam was making a deal with shook both Adam and Evelyn. It wasn’t just about the fire breaking out, but the other news that the store manager might be selling gas illegally that worried Adam and Evelyn.Evelyn wanted to cancel all the deals with the SGNG store right away, but Adam wanted her to confirm things before making such a hasty decision. While Evelyn went to meet the manager Thomas who was admitted in the hospital, Adam went out to invest some of the money he received from Parul in the start-up companies. With his hands tied-up by Eric, he wouldn’t be able to do much without help from Lily and Mary, so he was having backups before going for a front-on duel with them. However, as bad luck would have it, he met Sandra, the female racer who was Reena’s best friend. When Adam asked her if she knew any good sports start-ups she knew about, she told him to bet in the races instead.“Betting is too risky,” Adam said.“If you want

“What the hell do you want 3 million dollars for?” Reena asked Sandra. “Don’t tell me you’re thinking of buying a race car.”“N-no, no,” Sandra was quick to reply. “I want it for an important reason.”“And that important reason is?”“I can’t tell you right now, but it’s really important,” Sandra stressed her words. “It’s like the difference between tasting a chicken sausage and a man's sausage.”“Huh? What the hell are you talking about?”“Just trust me this once. Your money with me will be safer than the gold that the elites store in their vaults.”“Geez, I’ve been through shit on my recent foreign trip, and you didn’t even come to see me afterward. Now, you are asking for 2 million? Do you think that’s fair?”“I-I’m really sorry, dear, but please help me this once.”“Alright, alright, but you better tell me the reason afterward, or I’ll send my koala to get my money back.”“Haha, sure.”Meanwhile, Adam and Evelyn met in a cafe.“So what did Thomas say?” he asked, sipping on chocolat

A spiking sensation rocked him, but still he resisted. And that resistance made Sandra get a little aggressive. Her tongue sneaked its way into his mouth and played with his tongue. Intricate trills danced along her spine. With every passing second, it proved more and more difficult to fight against her masterful weaving of the tongue that burned through his mouth and mercilessly melted his brain. He answered her in his own fashion, pinching her nipple through her semi see-through dress, sending spirals of ecstasy snarling up her spine and shocking her brain. “MMPHH!” she moaned, but all of her moan was swallowed by his mouth. She smiled through her eyes before closing them and feeling it all through the sensations. As the kiss grew intense, both their bodies hummed with tension. His hands cupped her butt, picked her up and pushed her against the wooden pillar. His raw scent infused her body and soul. She had never felt such a strong, regal scent before. She badly wanted more of it. S

“If you were really a beggar, then what happened? How did you change yourself?” the beggar curiously asked Adam. “Did you rob a bank or something?”“No, it was a stroke of luck,” Adam replied. “I’m still taking that test. If I don’t pass it, I might end up as a beggar one day again.”“I wish that luck visits me as well,” the beggar said.“Don’t worry, Brother,” Adam saw that this beggar had a bent leg, which didn’t allow him to walk properly. He took out his checkbook from his suit and signed it for 5000 dollars. “It’s not much, but this is all I can give you right now. You better not use it for drugs, or the next time I see you, I will beat your ass.”“I will spend this very carefully,” the beggar quickly said. “But I don’t think the bank guards will allow me to enter the bank if I go in these dirty clothes. I have to buy new clothes.”Adam then took his suit out and gave it to the beggar who felt more touched by this gesture. It brought tears to the beggar’s eyes.“Nobody has been t

Both Evelyn and Adam had gone to Sterling villa and talked with the producer, Jacob sterling. They were expecting him to look cool and grand. He was indeed a big, handsome fellow despite his age being in sixties, but he looked to be under great stress because of his movie being released incorrectly.“From behind the scenes, someone messed with me on purpose,” Jacob told them. “I know you’ve come here to get solid information from me, but I can’t guarantee you anything right now because all the people I took money from to produce the film are grabbing my throats right now. I have to pay them hundreds of millions in interest. So, until I clear all that, I won’t be able to release the film. Even if I do release it, will the people come to the theaters again?”“They will, sir,” Evelyn told him. “All your past movies were blockbusters. There was not an average film, so I think people will understand that some mistake happened this time and will definitely make many people come to the theate

Adam and Evelyn came to a restaurant. It was mid noon at the time. Both of them were sweaty and hungry. Evelyn first ordered some drinks to quench her thirst, and then she told the waiters to wait for fifteen minutes before prepping their meals because she just drank a lot of water. This gave both of them fifteen minutes of breathing space. Evelyn still couldn’t forget burying the beggar, and she also didn’t understand why Adam would go to such lengths. “If you don’t mind me asking, did you meet that beggar in the past? I mean, did he stop in front of your car at some traffic signal and then ask for some money?” “No, this is my first time seeing him,” Adam replied in a calm but slightly knowing, heavy voice. “But this isn’t the first time I have seen beggars die overnight. During winters, some of them freeze to death on the streets. Some have their toes and legs frozen overnight that they have to get amputated afterward.” “What?” Evelyn covered her mouth in shock. “You sound like

As Adam approached the scene, the crows reluctantly flew away to the nearby posts and rooftops but still very much kept their eyes on him. There were at least twenty-odd of these black little things.Adam stopped and looked at the old man lying lifelessly on the sidewalk. There was no life in his eyes, which were half closed, and the black plastic bag beside him was open, with many items on the ground, suggesting that someone searched the bag for valuables.Evelyn joined Adam but was not able to see the old man’s corpse. She stood behind Adam. “Did he die? The beggar?”“He’s been dead for hours,” Adam said, his voice deep and concealing the pain and sadness swelling in him.“Let’s call the ambulance,” Evelyn said. “They are going to take care of him.”Adam, however, picked the old man up with both of his arms. He was not that heavy because he was very thin. His body had already hardened and was not bending at all. It looked like Adam was carrying a pole instead.“W-What are you doing,

Evelyn came home that evening and jumped onto the bed. She hugged her pillow and tried to be calm. However, she couldn’t help but think about Jim. He was without a doubt the most handsome man she had seen. He was not just tall and handsome but had a really good sense of humor and a voice that was very good on the ears. “Though it started off bad, by the time it ended, my impression about him changed very much. It’s rare to find bachelors like him, but the issue was that I’m not sure if he’s interested in me or not. How do I find out? Should I call him first? Or should I wait for him to call me? What if he doesn’t call me? How long should I wait? One day? Two days? Three days?” Seconds passed. “This isn’t helping. I’ll be patient for a few days and see if he calls me,” Evelyn thought. “If he does call me, it means he’s interested in me. If he calls me much later, then he’s not interested in me and is only trying to use me.” She kept thinking about him and ended up sleeping without

    CHAPTER 91

Even though Adam lost all the money he invested, a total of ten million dollars, he didn’t feel too bad right now because he spent the night with Reena, and they didn’t have sex but were watching romantic movies all night. After watching the movies till sunrise, when both their bodies and souls were fully craving for love, Reena still managed to hold herself well.“I will sleep in my bed,” Reena said. “You can sleep in the other room. That’s good for both of us.” She wanted to prove to him she could control herself well if wanted to.However, Adam grabbed her hand and pulled her into his embrace and began to kiss her everywhere on her face except the lips. “S-Stop, Adam,” she said in a trembling voice, but there was a hint of thrill in her voice. While almost every man she had sex with before lustfully kissed her on the lips, what Adam did now was a first for her. He was gentle, yet the pressure from his lips sent vibrations all over her body and to the depths of her soul. It felt so

Reena and Adam rushed out of the theater, and Evelyn just happened to see them while talking with the contractors on her mobile. On top of that, it started raining. “He’s unbelievable,” Evelyn gritted her teeth. “I was a fool to think he’s changed.” Adam and Reena entered a car that surely wasn’t Adam’s, and they hurriedly drove away. Evelyn ran to Adam’s car, only to then realize that she didn’t have the keys. “Ugh, dammit!” she ran back into the theater. She kept walking to and fro, hoping that the rain would be gone soon, but it only grew intense with every passing second. Evelyn didn’t even feel like talking to the contractors right now. She quickly called Adam, but he didn’t answer. She angrily smiled. “Of course. I was a fool to even call you, thinking you might answer. A leopard can never change its spots.” She was hoping for a Best Day Ever if the movie were to become a hit, but that didn’t happen. The saying ‘when it rains, it pours’ came to her mind. The El Man movie produced by the famous Jacob Sterling and acted by many top actors just released today. This was the movie that Adam and Evelyn put a lot of hopes on because they invested into the catering businesses across the city. If the movie were to succeed, they would earn multiple times of profit. If the movie were to become an average hit, they wouldn’t lose any money. Since the producer had a record of making every single one of his movies a blockbuster hit, Adam and Evelyn were fully confident in this movie, which was also the movie with the highest budget of all time. Both Evelyn and Adam went to the theater, but to their shock, Reena was there. She got a seat right next to Adam. With Evelyn on one side, and then Reena rubbing her foot from the other side, Adam almost went crazy. If Evelyn were to notice, what would she think? He surreptitiously glanced at Reena, trying to tell her to stop acting childish, but she seemed to be having fun from putting Adam in a tough spot.

Saying Crawford was the crappiest board member would be an understatement. The only person he feared was Parul, but after Parul fell sick, Crawford had taken sides. He didn’t like Brendon because Brendon was too smart, whereas Eric was relatively easier to control.Crawford considered Adam to be too irresponsible to even spare a second for him. So, Crawford rarely ever spoke to Adam before.Adam went to his office.Crawford was an abnormally tall guy with great-looking hair despite his age. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he looked a few years younger just because of his hairstyle.“Mr. Crawford,” Adam humbly greeted Jonas Crawford. “It’s a pleasant surprise to see you here. To what do we owe this pleasure? Is your family doing great?” He purposely tried to speak a bit too much to make himself look friendly.“What’s there to talk about my family? I just got my 13th divorce,” Jonas sighed. Even though he shook hands with Adam, he didn’t get up from the seat, which showed Ada
