Ryu would never believed a day like this would ever come, if he had been told in the past, he would have laughed it off. Ten months of being married to Belle has been hell for him, she never treated him with respect and he tolerated that because deep down he felt she didn't deserve a loser like him.
However, today's incident wasn't something he could take lightly. Belle had stolen his life savings to pay up her father's debt without letting him know and still cheated on him, she showed no signs of remorse and only tried to justify her actions, and instead of an apology and maybe his money back, they insulted him and threw him out. This was too much and there was no way Ryu would forgive such wickedness. He signed as he stared down at himself, feeling angry and not knowing what to do. He needed money urgently for his mother's treatment and the little he had was taken away and there was no way of getting it back. Ryu cursed as he felt a great sense of urgency when he realized getting the money would be difficult. The thought of his mother lying at the hospital needing urgent treatment with no money scared him. He needed to get the money as soon as possible, but how? With no good job, no investment, no savings, and nobody to run to, it was nearly as impossible as finding a pin in a hip of hay. No matter how impossible it was, he would figure it out, and standing here doing nothing wouldn't bring him money, Ryu thought to himself and was prepared to leave when he heard the gate open up, he turned around to see who it was, it was Richard Harrison. The sight of Richard brought back the anger that had left Ryu for a brief moment. He glared at Richard and suddenly had the urge to smack that smug look out of his face. But Ryu had to remind himself that he had a bigger problem to attend to so, he ignored Richard and proceeded to leave, however, "Is your broke ass in desperate need of money? I can help," Richard spoke up before Ryu could leave, he stood a few steps behind Ryu, waiting for a response from him. "I don't need your help," Ryu replied, he had no time to mess around with Richard. After what he had just witnessed today, he no longer saw Richard the same way again. "To be honest with you, I've never really liked you from the start," Richard said with a pause and his statement caused Ryu to stop in his tracks. With the current sour situation between them, Richard saw no valid reason to keep hiding the truth from Ryu. What does he mean? Ryu thought to himself and he wondered if he should be entertaining Richard at all. "I became really close to you because of Belle. Seeing how a loser like you married her was really baffling and I thought you never deserved her." Richard said with a pause. Stealing Belle from Ryu had always been his plan from the moment he set his eyes on them. How could a broke loser like Ryu be with such a goddess like Belle, it made no sense to Richard and if anything, Belle deserved to be with someone as capable as he was, not Ryu. Richard began seducing Belle months ago with his charms and money and it worked, she fell really hard for him. Even when they were hiding their affairs from Ryu, Richard wanted so badly to show it off and rub it all over Ryu's face and now that the situation presented itself, Richard saw no reason to hold back. "We both know Belle doesn't love you, I don't know how she ended up marrying someone like you but I'm sure she's regretting her decision now. So, I'm going to present you with an offer," Richard continued and paused again, waiting to hear Ryu's response. However, when he heard nothing from Ryu, he sighed with a low chuckle and continued, "Look man, I may not know or understand what you are going through but I can tell you are in desperate need of money and I'm willing to help, yeah? How much do you need? A million? Two? Name your price," Richard took a step forward to finally hear Ryu speak. "For what? Why do you want to help me? And what makes you think I'll accept help from a jerk like you?" Ryu grunted a deep frown perched finely on his eyebrows. "Because I know you need the money. Divorce Belle and never show up before her again, I'll give you a million. That's enough, yeah?" Richard offered. He knew Ryu was full of pride and wouldn't listen but with the money involved, he wouldn't be able to say no. "You must be sick to think I'll accept that ridiculous offer of yours." Ryu said, "Listen here," he said, pointing, "We are through, there's nothing between us anymore. If you ever see me again in the future, act like we never knew each other, got it?" And with that, Ryu turned around to leave but stopped when he heard Richard's response. "Think about why you need that money, don't let your foolishness make you lose something so important. Just ping me up whenever you've changed your mind," Richard said and afterward stepped back inside and closed the gate, leaving Ryu standing outside all by himself, thinking about Richard's last words. He was thinking deeply about Richard's offer to give him the money to save his mother's life and in return divorce Belle, but thinking about his pride as a man, Ryu immediately shook his head and quickly got rid of that thought and left the place.Latest Chapter
Hallucinating?
The grand hall glittered under golden chandeliers as soft classical music floated through the air, the kind of atmosphere meant only for people who never had to worry about money a day in their lives. Belle held Richard’s arm as they walked in together, her heels clicking confidently against the polished floor while waiters moved around with trays of wine. She loved places like this, places that reminded her she had escaped the embarrassment called her past, and tonight she felt particularly pleased seeing familiar wealthy faces greeting Richard with respect.“You see?” she whispered with a faint smile, leaning slightly toward him. “This is the life people like us are meant for. Not struggling with useless people who drag you down.”Richard smirked, accepting a glass from a passing waiter. “Some people are simply born to be stepped on. That’s reality.”Belle chuckled softly. “Imagine if that loser could see us now.”“Ryu?” Richard scoffed without even thinking about it. “He’s probably
Money Laundering.
Ryu stepped out of the car and stared at the tall glass building in front of him, his hands tucked inside his pockets as if that would somehow calm the uneasiness crawling beneath his skin. Mr. John stood beside him, already walking ahead like a man who had done this a thousand times, while Ryu lagged behind, silently wishing Drew had been the one sent with him instead. Ever since the Chairman told him he would be inspecting a branch alone, his chest had not stopped feeling tight. This was not a classroom test anymore.Inside the building, the receptionist barely spared him a glance. Her eyes moved past him and rested respectfully on Mr. John instead, and Ryu could already feel how today would go. A few staff members whispered among themselves as they walked by, their eyes lingering on him a second longer than necessary. He heard it clearly; Chairman’s pet. The words were not even said quietly enough, almost like they wanted him to hear it.They made him wait.Ten minutes turned to th

Ryu stepped out of the conference room with Drew walking a few steps behind him. The hallway suddenly felt quieter than before, almost unreal after the intense atmosphere he had just endured. He stopped midway and placed his hand against the wall, letting out a long breath.“I really thought my soul left my body back there,” Ryu muttered.Drew folded his arms. “But it didn’t.”“I was shaking.”“I noticed.”“And you let me walk in there alone anyway?”Drew raised a brow. “Would you have preferred I held your hand?”Ryu shot him a look. “Don’t push your luck, old man.”For the first time since the meeting, Drew allowed a faint smile. “You did well.”Ryu blinked, slightly stunned. “That’s it? Just well? I nearly collapsed!”“You spoke. You answered. You didn’t run away. That alone was the goal today.”Ryu leaned back against the wall, staring at the ceiling. “They were looking at me like I was trash.”“They still are,” Drew replied calmly.Ryu’s head snapped toward him. “Encouraging as a
Nobody Praised Him.
The heavy door closed behind him with a soft but terrifying click that echoed louder in his ears than it actually was, and at that moment Ryu realized he was truly alone inside the battlefield Drew had prepared him for. The conference room was large, far larger than it had seemed from outside, with a long polished table stretching across the room and a massive screen mounted on the wall. Around the table sat men and women old enough to be his parents, some even his grandparents, all dressed sharply and radiating authority that suffocated the air. Their eyes followed his every movement as if measuring his worth in seconds, and he could almost hear their thoughts screaming the same thing; Who is this boy? Ryu swallowed, his throat suddenly dry, his palms damp, but remembering Drew’s words, he forced his feet to move forward instead of retreating. Each step felt unnatural, like walking on unfamiliar ground, yet he continued until he reached the empty seat at the head of the table. The

"Reality? I never chose this, I didn't even ask to be here so what are you talking about?" Ryu said, glaring at the older man. Hearing this from Ryu, Drew sighed as he had not expected for things to go this way. "Not everybody is privileged enough to choose their reality. People just find themselves in crazy situations and can do nothing about it. Some get lucky with a better life and some the total opposite. The fun thing about life is, no matter how crazy life gets, you can always get to shape your reality to how you want it. When life hands you a lemon, you turn it to lemonade or whatever it is they say." He explained, hoping for the young man to understand. "Look at you now, being scared and towering away from the reality given to you..." "I'm not scared," Ryu interrupted with an offended frown but Drew ignored him. "But the truth is, you can always change it if you want. The ability to do so is right in the palm of your hands, it's like a power we humans yield. And the only w
Reality.
Three months flew by with Ryu getting the mentorship he needed from Drew. He was taught everything he needed to know about business and about the company in general. He was given practical tests and theory exams and he passed them to both his and Drew's surprise. One month into the mentorship, Drew could already see Ryu was taking it seriously. One could tell the young man was eager to learn. The way he asked questions out of his own curiosity and the way he answered the questions asked to him, Drew knew he had buckled up. He had a good brain too, he could easily grab onto things, even the ones that seemed like they weren't there and the ones Drew had purposely made to appear so. Every single day that came, it became as if Ryu woke up with a new willpower to learn and this was impressive to Drew. During the three months of mentorship, some of Ryu's practical tests had involved him having to spend his day in the company with the Chairman. He attended meetings with the Chairman and
