Lukas woke up to the chime of his alarm clock. He turned over and shut down the alarm before getting up.

7:12 am. That was the time displayed on the clock. He stood up and saw that his dorm mates were still sleeping peacefully.

There were new additions to the room but they were all sleeping, so he couldn't hold a conversation with them.

Lukas made his way to the bathroom, which was already occupied by several naked boys. This was nothing new to him, as he had to share the bathroom with his dorm mates while in the military. He took his spot and started washing his body.

When he was done, he made his way back to his room and dried off his body. He brought out the uniform he purchased for 50 silver notes, admired it once again before putting it on. He styled his silver hair, which he decided to grow out for a while, before putting on a pair of black earrings. He grabbed his phone and wallet before leaving the dorm.

He bought breakfast on the way to his class, while admiring the view in the school. When he got to the building where the class would hold he found out that a lot of people had arrived at the venue already.

Inside the hall looked like a place for seminars. There was a large podium where the lecturer would stand and teach. There were curtains on the window sides and the hall was fully air conditioned.

The hall was filled and it took a while for him to get a seat. Immediately the clock struck 8:00 am the door opened and a dark skinned man entered the hall.

He was tall but lean, and he wore a pair of round glasses on his eyes. In his hands was a thick book, which seemed like it was what he would be teaching the class.

"Good day ladies and gentlemen. I will be your general class teacher for this month and my name is Mr. Moore."

Mr. Moore opened his thick book and glanced at it. He then turned to the class and adjusted his glasses, before speaking.

"We will start with the history of our great empire…"

Lukas tuned out Mr. Moore's voice as he talked. He was repeating basic knowledge they all knew. There was nothing interesting about what he taught. Maybe this was why the classes were not compulsory.

The only thing on his mind was the specialized class he had to attend by 12 pm. He could barely keep still in his seats, and wished the class would end as soon as possible.

There was only one reason why Lukas was excited to attend the next class, and that was because he would be finally taught on how to use mana!

Since he awakened as a mage he had not cast a single spell. He didn't know how to. Lukas looked forward to the day he would finally cast magic.

Lukas was still lost in his thoughts when he felt a bit uncomfortable. He turned and saw everyone staring at him. Lukas turned to the podium and saw Mr. Moore pointing at him.

"Hey you! Yes you with the silver hair, would you please tell me what you know about the white skinned apes?"

The white skinned apes? It seemed like the topic in the class had moved on from the history of the empire to the types of monsters in existence while he was lost in thought.

Before he could say what he knew about the beasts Mr. Moore interrupted him. It seemed that he had taken his silence for not knowing the answers.

"It appears that you don't know anything about the beasts, young man." Mr. Moore said while sounding disappointed. "Take your seat young man, and pay attention to my class while you're at it."

Lukas sat down, feeling wronged in his heart. He knew a lot about the white skinned apes but he wasn't even given a chance to speak.

It seemed that Mr. Moore was really offended by Lukas lack of attention as he continued to speak on the issue.

"You might not know this, but the world outside is extremely dangerous. The knowledge we teach you all might seem useless now but while you're out there it could be the fine line that separates life from death. I wish you will all take what we're teaching seriously."

Mr. Moore glanced at everyone before going back to the topic he was teaching. Lukas paid close attention this time, as he didn't want to be made the subject of reproach again.

After a few hours the class was finally over. There were still some minutes left before the next class. Lukas decided to grab some food ahead of time as he didn't know when the class would be over. After eating his fill, Lukas finally made his way to the venue for the next class.

He was beside himself with joy as he walked towards the venue, as the class would be his first starting point.

The place was already filled with people when he arrived, but the numbers of people present were way lower than the ones who attended the general class.

The specialized classes were grouped according to the awakened classes. Lukas was attending the class for Mages, and the numbers of Mages who passed the tests and were admitted was pitifully low.

Lukas studied the hall where he would be attending his classes. It was a fairly large hall and was spacious enough to occupy all the students present. It looked like more of a dojo and the students in the hall sat on the floor with their legs folded together.

Lukas made his way to a corner of the room to sit down, but on the way there he found someone familiar next to the spot.

It was a very pretty blond girl with green eyes that sparkled. She was dressed in the same school uniform that Lukas wore but the female version. Her seating posture was elegant and her uniform brought out the supple curves evident on her while her long legs were covered in black pop socks.

Her beauty had already garnered attention from the boys present while the girls were stealing glances at her with jealousy evident in their expressions.

Her eyebrows were knit into a frown as she felt uncomfortable from the perverted stares which looked like they were undressing her with their gazes.

Lukas found himself staring longer than normal at the blond beauty. She was really incredibly pretty.

Ayleen felt a different gaze on her and raised her head. Her eyes immediately locked with Lukas' and an expression of irritation came on her face.

"It's you." Ayleen said, obviously displeased by his appearance.

Lukas paid her attitude to him no mind and plopped down beside her. He instantly felt a lot of stares at him. The boys seemed to be glowering at him, ready to bite him apart.

"It seems like you're really popular." Lukas stated.

Ayleen turned and saw the boys glowering at him but paid them no mind. It was better this way. As unwilling as she was to admit it, she felt more comfortable when Lukas sat beside her.

When the hall was finally filled, the door swung open and a man entered.

He looked to be in his early forties and was dressed in a spotless white suit. He wore a monocle and a bow tie, nailing the butler look.

"Good afternoon. I'm Luis and I will be your teacher for this class."

Mr. Luis adjusted his monocle and glanced at everyone present.

"As you all just awakened, you are unable to use mana. Sadly, even after this class it will take some time for you to use mana. Some might take days; some might take weeks or even months."

He paused and adjusted his bow tie.

"Before we start I'll like to give a brief demonstration."

Mr. Luis snapped his fingers and a green magic circle with different symbols appeared. Immediately, a small plant appeared where the magic circle was formed.

Everyone in the hall looked on in amazement, Lukas included, as Mr. Luis cast his magic. Their eyes sparkled, eager to cast their own magic.

Mr. Luis noted the expressions of everyone present and chuckled.

"This is the result of a spell cast from a basic magic circle. There are different types of magic circles and each of them has different effects when cast."

Lukas paid rapt attention as Mr. Luis talked, absorbing all the knowledge like a sponge.

"The spell you just saw could be cast by a Basic Mage. The basic magic circle has 3 tiers and only after casting a spell from the first tier will you be recognized as a Basic Mage. For now, you are not Mages."

Mr. Luis adjusted his monocle again.

"As I said earlier, there are different types of magic circles and they can only be cast by specific mages. The next magic circle above the basic one is the intermediate magic circle and it can only be cast by a Great Mage. The next magic circle is the advanced magic circle and can only be cast by a Grand Mage."

Mr. Luis stopped and looked at everyone present in the hall.

"There's no need for me to continue further. If you ever manage to become a Grand Mage then you will naturally learn about the ranks above that."

He adjusted his bow tie and said.

"Now that I've clarified some of the confusion you all had prior to the class let's get to the next step."

Lukas looked on in anticipation. He was finally going to learn how to use mana.

These monsters were incredibly huge, easily towering the villagers at more than 3 meters tall. They bore an uncanny resemblance to the tigers on earth, with few differences. The teeth of these monsters were incredibly sharp, cutting through the weak defenses of the villagers like tofu, and the four front canines were shaped like sabers, hence their name saber toothed tigers. New Rules

The new rule passed by the Chairman of the Hunter Alliance created a buzz among the Hunters. As expected, the hunters and Guilds were not welcoming of such rule. They had reported to the Hunter Alliance in hopes of them providing a reasonable solution, but instead all they got was a ban telling bronze ranked hunters not to participate in dungeon runs. Of course they were several bronze ranked hunters or Guilds who disregarded this rule and went ahead on dungeon runs. However their ending was far from ideal. The bronze ranked hunters all had their hunter’s license revoked permanently while the Guilds involved were given a 12 month ban on participating in dungeon runs. A 12 month ban was similar to crippling the Guild’s flow of profit because they couldn’t rely on expeditions alone, needless to say that dungeon runs were twice as profitable as expedition. When several hunters heard the harsh punishment passed on the hunters and Guilds that violated the rule, several bronze ranked hunt
