Lukas woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. He turned around on his bed and stretched his hands towards the bedside table to pick his phone, but it stopped ringing. Lukas opened his eyes and saw that it was already morning. He looked around the bright room and saw that it was still empty. The school hadn’t recovered from the setback so many students were still absent. His body was still fatigued from yesterday, so he didn’t want to wake up early. He was about to go back to bed, but his phone had other plans. His phone rang loudly again. This time Lukas was able to answer the phone call before the ringing stopped.“Hello?” Lukas said, speaking groggily to the caller on the other side of the phone.“Lukas? It’s Eipi.” Eipi said.“Eipi? What’s up?”“Sivanthe asked me to call you and inform you about the progress that has been made concerning your case.”Lukas immediately sobered up as soon as he heard the words that left Eipi’s lips. He instantly knew that it was no time to be sleep
For the past three weeks, Lukas had fully focused on practicing his spells. Being the genius he was, he had improved tremendously regarding his spell casting and had reduced the time he needed to cast his spell greatly. He was able to cast his first tier spell with just a thought and his second tier spell in less than a second. The third tier spell still took more than a second to cast, but Lukas knew that in a few days, he could reduce the time to just a single second. He had also improved his mana control greatly, and was now able to change the state of his element freely and with ease. Although it was still not at the level he wanted to be, it was a huge improvement on his part. If he were to redo the dungeon run again, the fight with Gures would have ended in less than five minutes.Lukas stood up from his bed and stretched his body. He performed some light exercises to loosen his body. When he was done, he was about to lie down on his bed when he suddenly remembered an important
Lukas woke up later than usual. The effects from using the mana core had taken a huge toll on him, so he had taken a well deserved rest. Luckily, the pain and fatigue he felt yesterday were all gone after a nice good night sleep. His body was restored to full strength, and he could tell it was better than it had been before he utilized the mana core.Lukas had not yet tested the effects the mana core had on his spells, so that was the first agenda on his list. Lukas got up from his bed and took a bath to freshen up. The dormitory was still empty so there were very few people in the dorms. Lukas guessed that the students who remained were probably students like him who had no place to call home. After putting on a casual outfit, he made his way to an area reserved for mages to cast and practice their spells. It was as large as a soccer field, and although it was usually filled with different students practicing their spells before, it was empty now.Lukas walked slowly and in a relaxed
Lukas woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. He checked the caller ID and saw Eipi’s name written on it. Lukas groaned before picking the call.“Hello?” Eipi said.“Yes?” Lukas asked in a dull tone. He wasn’t in the mood to talk. He just wanted to sleep. However, all traces of sleep escaped him when he heard the next words that escaped Eipi’s mouth.“Hey Lukas, we have completed two dungeon runs these past weeks and is preparing for another one in four days. Your suspension is now over so you should come over to the Guild for the meeting and strategy discussion.”Lukas sprang up from the bed in shock. He was extremely happy! His suspension had finally been lifted!“Alright! I’ll be there in an hour!” Lukas replied.Eipi responded lightly before disconnecting the call. He had done his own part.Lukas could barely contain his joy as he washed up in the bathroom. Other than his eagerness to test out the upgrade effects in a dungeon, he was also extremely happy for another reason.Pro
The ride to the specified dungeon was long and uneventful. Apart from the constant chattering of Eipi who sat beside Lukas, there was nothing note worthy about the trip. After travelling for 8 hours, an hour extra than the expected time, they finally got to the destined dungeon. The dungeon's entrance was slightly larger than the previous dungeon Lukas had visited, and it had a different color than Ariel's castle, the F-ranked dungeon. There were massive swirling yellow circles which served as the entrance to the F-ranked dungeon. The other team members felt intimidated by the impressive aura emitted by the portals even though they had been clearing dungeons for a long time.Lukas however was not intimidated in the slightest. All that was on his mind was to test out the effects the mana core had on his spells.Unlike before, Sivanthe was the last to enter the dungeon. He had made it part of his routine to be the last person to enter and exit the dungeon. Since there was no way to exit
The Kangaroo noticed the disturbed mana flow underneath its feet and jumped up to escape Lukas first spell. If it were before Lukas ingested the mana core, it might have worked due to how long it took Lukas mercury to spread across the ground. This time however, reinforced with the effects of the mana core, Lukas spell was cast almost instantly. The mercury spell trapped one of the hind legs of the monster kangaroo. Lukas instantly changed the state of his element from liquid to solid, chaining the leg of the kangaroo down. The speed of transition was so quick that the Kangaroo had no idea what hit it. It tried to wrestle its leg free but it was futile. After ingesting the mana core, the strength grip of Lukas spell had doubled. It would take serious physical strength to break through from the spell.Lukas himself was shocked at the effects of the mana core on his spells. He had already chained the monster down and it was unable to break free.Lukas did not let this chance slip. A mas
“How is the knight doing now?” Lukas asked, turning his back on the now headless kangaroo.Rus was still in shock when Lukas words pulled her out of her reverie. She looked around and saw that the knight was still knocked out. Rus couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. The Knight who had participated in numerous dungeon runs before Lukas was knocked out with a single kick from the kangaroo, yet Lukas who was just participating in his second dungeon run had killed that same monster without sustaining any injuries. It was absolutely preposterous.Lukas paid no attention to the stares Rus directed at him. He was reviewing the fight he just had in his head. While the fight must have seemed perfect and flawless to her, to him it was full of so many flaws. If he had been fighting a different and smarter type of monster who actually used its head and not just its brawns, then the fight would have gone way differently than it did.Lukas noted all his errors as he walked. He was always co
Huge. That was the only word to describe the monster. It was incredibly huge. Even the monster Lukas had seen in the F-ranked dungeon Ariel’s castle wasn’t as huge as this. It was completely out of his expectations.Lukas wasn’t the only one affected by the size of the monster. Not only was the monster huge, it was incredibly imposing. The aura it gave off alone suffocated them, and Lukas found himself losing the will to fight. The monster screeched loudly before making a full appearance. Lukas gulped. He should have known what kind of monster it was the moment he stepped into the monster’s lair. They were only one type of monsters that loved staying in tall trees; birdlike monsters. The monster was similar to a hawk, but it was extremely huge. Its talons were as thick as tree branches, and its wings were just as powerful as they looked.Sivanthe felt beads of sweat rolling down his head. This wasn’t just a warrior class monster; this was a warrior class monster on the cusp of breakin
