Chp 27 - Better Furious Than Dead

Mollie was not in the house when they arrived.

She was pacing in agitation in front of the office building with the office phone in her hand. She rushed forward as fast as her legs would allow as the car barreled into the driveway.

“Thank God you are here. I forgot the new emergency number again,” she said anxiously as Jordan parked the car.

“Speed-dial 5,” Jordan answered automatically. “What happened?”

“You need to see for yourself. She wouldn’t open her eyes,” she answered as she dialled the emergency number.

Jordan and Chione rushed inside. “What the fuck?” Chione yelled as Jordan took in the devastation of what had once been his pristine firm.

Every furniture in the offices was upended. Some broken. Books from the library were thrown about. Jordan’s experiments and inventions were all smashed to nothing. The computers were gouged with the figurines that Laura kept on her table. It was a total massacre. Amidst all the chaos, Laura lay in an uncomfortable angle. She was unconscious
