Time seemed to pass slowly; every second was like punishment and humiliation for him, but now it was time for Zayn's trial. The man couldn't sleep all night because he had to lie on the cold floor with only a thin sheet.
The police are now removing Zayn and taking him to the court, where his trial occurs. Zayn looks completely limp and disorientated. No one seems to be coming to his aid.
The man doesn't have a lawyer to represent him properly in court. Since Zayn had no legal representation, the court provided Zayn with an unreliable volunteer lawyer, as most were not yet competent interns.
Moreover, volunteer lawyers who help oversee cases like this are not paid by their clients, so many of them seem reluctant to defend their clients, especially when they have to compete with a team of public prosecutors who are experienced in their field.
Zayn had heard his defence lawyer's advice, who advised him to admit his guilt and beg for mercy from the court and the prosecution service. If Zayn does that, then it is likely that he will only have to serve a year in prison, and if he is of good behaviour, then he may be free in just nine months. However, if Zayn decides to resist, then the public prosecutor can request that Zayn get the harshest sentence of 2 to 3 years' imprisonment.
Both options are certainly things that Zayn did not expect at all. The man was not entirely at fault, so the punishment must have been severe.
"Zayn Hayes!" a clerk called Zayn's name as he entered the courtroom.
A few people only witnessed the trial because it was a closed session. Zayn could see that the public prosecutor looked ready to destroy him at any moment. Zayn sat on the opposite side of the prosecution team, accompanied by a volunteer lawyer. The trial was now beginning.
"Mr Hayes, let me ask you once again. Do you not have legal representation that will represent you in this trial and agree to have the assistance of a volunteer lawyer?" a judge asked to make sure.
"I..." Just as the resigned Zayn was about to answer 'yes', the courtroom door opened.
"Wait. Sorry for my delay, Your Honour Judge," a man in a neat suit with a briefcase in his hand said. The man surprised both the prosecution team and the volunteer's lawyer. But there was something even stranger than that.
"Bianca!" Zayn muttered in disbelief as his wife entered the courtroom carrying a lawyer.
Zayn could see Bianca with a bossy appearance. The woman proudly strode into the courtroom.
"I, Mr White, will be the lawyer and legal representative of Mr Hayes. Your Honour Judge, may I have two minutes to speak briefly with my client?" The man authoritatively stepped in and immediately approached Zayn along with Bianca.
"Request granted!" responded the judge.
With Mr White present as Zayn's legal representation, the volunteer lawyer had to leave his chair.
"I can't believe what you're trying to do here, Bianca?" Zayn asked angrily to the woman in front of him, who looked haughty with a smirk.
"Calm down. I'm just showing my good intentions to help you. My mum called me last night and said you were at the police station and needed a lawyer. Condition yourself well and consider this my last good deed. You can rethink our divorce. I'm the only one who can help you and get you out of jail," Bianca replied, happy that she finally had a chance to discuss her divorce.
"It's up to you. Let me out, and maybe I'll consider your wishes," said Zayn, who had no other options.
A moment later, the trial resumed. Bianca sat in the audience with the officers in charge and the volunteer lawyer representing Zayn.
Mr White was a well-known and reliable lawyer the Brown family used. He had a good reputation for handling his clients' cases. It made the prosecution team a little worried.
The trial was intense for the next hour or so, and the outcome was exactly what Bianca wanted and Zayn expected. Mr White managed to win the case, and Zayn was completely free from punishment by simply posting bail. They walked out of the courtroom smiling, leaving the public prosecution team upset that they had lost.
"I have shown my intentions well. I even proved it to you. It's time you showed yourself to be a good husband. Let's talk about our divorce," Bianca told Zayn.
The man looked agitated again. For a moment, Zayn was happy that his wife had just been so dutiful, but Bianca reminded Zayn just how bad she was.
Mr White put the divorce documents into Bianca's hands before the man finally excused himself to leave.
"Can-" said Zayn, who Bianca cut off. "I was expecting you to try and evade me."
"I'm not trying to evade. I've just been in an accident and had to sleep in jail and have just been acquitted of a very aggravating charge. Don't you see how messed up your husband is?" Zayn raised his tone of voice in annoyance.
"Husband? Babe, you always look so messed up, enough to drag myself into your mess again. I guessed that you would try to get away with it. God only knows how tired I am of being your wife," Bianca said haughtily.
"Bianca..." Zayn looked even more annoyed.
"Stop calling my name with that filthy mouth of yours. I knew that this would happen. So, the truth is that I'm not helping you with complete sincerity. Of course, I won't spend a cent on the husband I will divorce," Bianca responded angrily while throwing a letter at Zayn.
The man opened it immediately, and it was an invoice charged to Zayn for all the expenses needed to settle Zayn's case with the police and the court.
Zayn couldn't believe that his wife was being so cruel to him. Zayn had doubted Bianca's good intentions from the start, which was true.
Bianca, who had taken a step away, turned around slowly; with a smile, she said, "Ah yes, I forgot one thing. The bill for the loss of your startup company arrived at home this morning. You suffered a huge loss. Your company's finance team was forced to make a decision this morning, and since they couldn't reach you, I, as a wife, had the power to give them the green light."
Zayn saw Bianca getting closer; the woman took a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on. Bianca whispered in Zayn's ear, "Mr Hayes, I'm afraid that you have become unemployed from today. I hope you still have money to pay the remaining bills. You useless rubbish husband!"
Bianca's words were like a nightmare for Zayn. In just one night, all the achievements he was proud of would be gone. Zayn watched his wife leave with a swagger.Without waiting any longer, Zayn immediately took care of all the documents for his release permit and then left for his startup company in an online taxi car.Zayn defended his marriage to get back at Bianca and the Brown family. That woman had taken a lot from Zayn in one day, so Zayn didn't want Bianca to be happy with her affair. Their marriage must go on no matter what. But unfortunately, Zayn doesn't realise that a woman like Bianca is quite cunning in pursuing her desires. Zayn is in debt because his business project failed. After all, Bianca stole the company's data and gave it to Zayn's business competitor, Benjamin. While Zayn is still looking for a solution to save his startup company, he is involved in an accident and sleeps in prison. The mobile phone that became a means of communication could not function becaus
Getting a call like that made Zayn feel like he had just been struck by lightning during the day. The man did not expect one more surprise from fate that would test him. Zayn then fell on the side of the road, and once again, this scene drew attention from the surrounding people. Teardrops began to appear clearly on his face. "Hello, Mr Hayes. Are you still there?" Hearing repeated calls from the hospital brought Zayn to his senses. The man had to be strong because his mother was the only family member who still cared about his fate. "Yes, I'll be there soon," Zayn responded softly. The man tried to hold back his tears and sadness. Several calls were made, and Zayn is heading to Umbrella Hospital to see how his mum is doing. The woman's name was Teresa Hudson, a widow with one child, Zayn. Based on the explanation from the hospital, Teressa had just been in a car accident while trying to cross the road. Instantly, the woman was unconscious and was bleeding heavily. Teresa is now
Zayn watched Benjamin drive away with an annoyed face. The man was even seen making a few short calls before he finally disappeared in his luxury car.Zayn tried to ignore everything, then went inside the house. Bianca, who saw Zayn, seemed to ignore him, making the woman angry. Bianca deliberately provoked Zayn's emotions so that he could divorce her immediately. Now, she was starting to worry that her life would also fall apart because of all this."Are you just ignoring me?" Bianca shouted at Zayn, who continued to walk behind her.Zayn quickly entered his study in the house and immediately opened the safe there. Zayn realised Bianca seemed to be following him from behind because she had ignored him earlier."Oh, that's where you keep the Hayes family's valuable documents. I thought you were completely broke," Bianca interjected and was again ignored by Zayn. The man quickly opened his laptop and went straight to several websites. From Bianca's vantage point, the woman surmised tha
After Zayn made negotiations with Bianca, they agreed to meet in the park in front of the hospital. Zayn didn't know if his decision was right or wrong, but he didn't have many options. Zayn was worried about his mother's condition, who was still lying there being handled by Doctor Sheldon and the nurses. Zayn waited for his wife, and finally, Bianca came over. The woman looked so happy; she couldn't even hide the smile on her face. "These are our divorce documents. Please sign it first!" Bianca handed Zayn some papers. The man didn't want to comply with Bianca's wishes; he wanted to avenge his wife's treatment, but unfortunately, Zayn needed some money, and Bianca was the closest person who offered to help. Zayn reluctantly signed all the divorce documents and returned them to Bianca. She happily took the divorce documents. Zayn took Bianca's hand a second later and said, "Let's go in; I need you to pay the bills." Bianca saw this and immediately let go of Zayn's hand. She repl
Zayn ignored them all. In the face of this situation, Zayn took the initiative to try to approach his in-laws. Zayn might be able to get a loan from the Brown family. The man was sure Bianca had not talked about this to anyone other than Benjamin. So Zayn tried his chances by hoping that they would be able to overcome the difficulties faced by him. Zayn quickly picked up his mobile phone and dialled the head of the Brown family. "The number you have dialled is out of range. Please leave a message after the next tone..." Unfortunately, Zayn was unable to reach the Brown family patriarch. But the man did not lose his mind; although Zayn felt doubtful, he tried his luck by going directly to the Brown residence. Once there, the person who opened the door was Jessica Brown, his mother-in-law. Seeing Zayn appear in the middle of the night, the woman enjoying her sleep then shows a sour face. Zayn immediately received a lot of reprimands from his mother-in-law. "Zayn, are you going nuts
"Exactly. If your mother dies, then the entire inheritance will go to you. Is that what you want?" the whispering voice of the demon in human form rang out. Bianca stepped away without shame and leaned into Benjamin's embrace while saying with a seductive expression, "Zayn, why didn't I realise before that you are a filial man?" Bianca's tone sounded sarcastic as she and the Trent family laughed at Zayn. The guests also ended up joining in on Zayn's joke. The man was truly the clown of the show. When people's laughter reached Zayn's ears, it felt so painful, like thousands of sharp thorns pierced his heart. "Enough!" Zayn said as he clenched his fists tightly and closed his eyes. When people heard that, they gossiped excitedly. The tycoons didn't know the Hayes family, as they weren't popular, and the business Zayn had built hadn't won any awards or recognition from the public. They were even surprised that a lowly businessman like Zayn would dare to offend the influential Trent
After the sacred necklace absorbed Zayn's blood, the chain emitted a halo before an unfamiliar beam of light appeared and pierced his brow. "I, at this moment, pass down my legacy, and you will enter the Pearly Gates. You will become powerful but must remain humble and bring peace. Our medicinal skills are broad and profound and cover all aspects. Future heir, I hope you can maintain your sincerity while enlightening humanity." A voice so heavy and loud rang in Zayn's head. BOOM! Zayn's body trembled as he felt various knowledge that included medicine, life cultivation techniques, and geomancy begin to permeate his mind. Many things could not be explained in words. At the same time, there was a gust of cold breath that flowed throughout Zayn's body and treated the wounds while renewing Zayn's blood flow points and bones. Suddenly, everything in front of the man became clearer. Zayn opened his eyes and found himself lying in a hospital bed with a tube in his nose and bandages all
The words seemed to rhyme in Zayn's head. He remembered his distant relatives, whom Zayn and Teresa had always favoured. But that family did not respect Zayn and his mother at all. These people would act like angels when they needed help and turn into demons when they were on the other side. Zayn recalled the money his mum had borrowed from them, which Teresa continued to collect as if she had taken out a million-dollar loan. The night before, Zayn had even gone to the residence of his Uncle and Aunt. Zayn intended to borrow money from his wealthy relatives who lived in a luxurious area. Zayn's Aunt lives in a rich villa area, and the woman is always beautifully dressed and wearing sparkling jewellery. "Sorry if I came so suddenly. Aunty, Uncle, my mum just had an accident. My mum is in hospital," Zayn tried to explain his condition. Knowing Zayn's intentions, the woman said, "Zayn, it's not that we don't want to lend you money; we don't have any spare cash at home." Zayn's Uncle,
