Ansel’s eyes grew wide as he did not expect that. He wanted to ask for more information but felt it was best not to test Darius’ limited patience at that point, so he lowered his head in silence.

Not long passed before their cab arrived at the hotel.

Ansel never got the courage to voice his questions. Little did he know his hesitance made it so that he would never have the chance to ask again. Darius had already paid the cab fees, opened the door, and exited without a second thought or glance at Ansel.

Thus, Ansel only realized many people were standing outside the car when he snapped out of his daze and got out.
