He was about to head upstairs when someone grabbed his sleeve, stopping him. He turned while frowning as he could sense someone’s jealous stare focusing on him. Once he faced Bridget again, he raised a brow as though questioning her unprofessional reaction.

That made Bridget raise her brows before returning to her usual stoic expression. She then parted her lips to speak in a subdued voice. “You wait here. Your combat skills aren’t as good as mine, so I should go and help Mr. Reid.”

She then looked behind where Pierce was, and her eyes widened for a moment. Once she saw Pierce trembling in fear, her gaze returned to its usual emotionlessness.

However, she raised her voice to say, “As long as we block off those strong winds, you’ll be able to protect those scheming, worthless,
