265. Another Plans

The atmosphere at the dining table that morning seemed quiet. There was no conversation whatsoever—not even a good morning greeting from her parents. Elena, who was still annoyed by her mother's rude attitude last night, decided not to talk to her parents. She would only speak if they asked her first.

Renee and Joe looked at each other. Their gazes turned to Elena. They seemed to be planning something.

“Ahem!” Renee cleared her throat. There was no reaction from Elena; she continued eating.

“Elena.” Renee's voice drew Elena's gaze.

"Yes, Mother?" Elena responded.

“Tomorrow we will return to Havelock. I want you to come with us, Elena.” Renee's words made Elena gasp.

“I will stay in Auckland. I can't go with you," said Elena, shaking her head. Her relationship with Leon was not good, but she never thought about leaving the city.
