By now Adam's position was slightly compromised by the attacks that the five thugs carried out together. The kick Adam received right on his head made him a little unsteady and dizzy.

"So what do you think? Are you still going to be so big-headed?" asked the leader of the thugs with a ghastly smile.

"You think I'll just give up? That's only in your dreams," said Adam, who was now lying on the muddy road.

Adam slowly stood up while holding the back of his head which was hurting from the kick given by one of the thugs.

Unexpectedly the figure of Bram who had been hiding earlier now appeared while brandishing a gun at Adam.

"So you also took part in this attack?" asked Adam while looking at Bram.

"I'm one of the people you've harmed. Your presence in the company has led to my grandmother's dishonorable removal. We've all suffered since your arrival." Bram's voice sounded very loud as if he was pouring out all his frustration.
