Insistence

"Miss Abigail, you must apologize to Adam."

"You've accused him!" Several guests urged Abigail to apologize to Adam. Abigail exhaled a long breath. She had no desire to apologize to Adam. He was a man who was beneath her.

"Miss Abigail, please apologize to Adam!" Some of them persuaded Abigail to do so.

"I don't want to; he's a braggart son-in-law."

"How can I make amends to him?" Abigail was obstinate. She never wanted to apologize to Adam. Adam was a lowly Queni family member to her. Her grandfather was the only one who wanted her to join the Queni family. Abigail would have evicted Adam if her grandfather had died.

Abigail left the room. Bram went after his wife.

"She has embarrassed us, my dear."

"I dislike him. He made us look bad!" Abigail continued to curse Adam's actions.

Adam, in a way, became the center of attention.

"Thank you, Mr. Steven." Adam extended his hand to the man. Mr. Steven was thanked for saving his life.

"Not a problem, Mr. Adam."
