"Do you expect me to keep on waiting for you?" The frown that was hanging on his face was just way too vivid as she fell to the floor with her pride crushing down right before her.
"I am only here to ask for my account balance but she decided to take me through the glorious process of naming me a beggar." The banker was dumb enough not to pick out sarcasm in his voice.
"Ella? Is that what you are paid for? To go about bad-mouthing people?" He frowned.
"But take a good look at it." She paused all of a sudden.
"Do you even realize that it is the investor that has the highest deposit in the bank and your attitude almost chased him away?"
"What happened to give him the details to see if he was a beggar or not?" The frown that was hanging on his face deepened even more
But she could hardly be convinced by the previous statement that he just made. Cold sweat broke out from the corner of his face almost immediately and she broke into shivers.
"It's him?" She could hardly make out words to express the shock that hovered on her face.
"I'm sorry sir." The manager apologized.
"It's no big deal." He replied.
"And I am willing to help you with the details myself and help you through the procedures." He noted but his words got George a little bit confused as a repetition of the words sped off through his mouth.
"The last time that I checked. The only thing that I needed to check my account balance was my bank details."
"Have I been so locked out of the word that I have suddenly become an alien to almost everything?" He thought again
But his thoughts remained buried inside as he did not want to make a fuss about anything again.
He expected the sound of footsteps and when there was eventually none, his eyes sped off towards the floors, and for the first time, he noticed it.
"Please up, sir." He helped the manager up.
"I'm pretty sorry sir. I am going to accept any punishment that you give to me." The banker noted but the manager didn't want the high-profile client to remember anything about the implant experience that he had walking into the place.
"When you are done thinking about what you have done, you can always take a break."
The eyes of the banker blinked almost immediately at the words that she just heard knowing fully well what they met.
"Sir please don't do that to me. I can't be put off the payroll for a month. I am going to accept any other judgment but please sir?"
"Would you rather be sacked?" The manager shot an evil grin at her causing her to freeze right on the spot that she was.
A sudden pause came afterwards with her heart racing hard against her chest as though it was going to come off from its cave.
"Then you know what to do."
A smile hovered on his face as he turned towards George quickly gesturing at the office by the left angle of the banking hall.
"Here sir." He led the way well. George followed him closely from behind until they got into a well-furnished office.
The Manager gestured towards the chair just before his seat, beckoning on him to have a seat and George followed soon.
And as weird as it may seem, he was carried through the process of biometric verification, a face pass, and a series of other computer passes.
It was as though he was accessing a military zone and he was going to have to be searched properly.
"Finally, your birthday, sir." He Inquired.
"Just yesterday." He sighed. The day that he had also been betrayed, how unfortunate of him.
"I'm sorry for the delay sir. But with the amount of money that you have in your account, we have to make sure that it's properly guided." He noted.
Their speech starting from that of Henry, the ATM and then him was plugging him into a lot more suspense than he wanted.
With his heart rising on his chest.
Finally, the printing machine indicated the sound of the new birth of a print, and the manager cautiously presented it to him.
"These are all the details, sir." He noted.
"Three trillion dollars." George seized a breath, his hands firmly dug into the papers, still trying hard to process what stood before him.
"Sorry to bring it up but I guess from the way that you first looked at me that you recognize me already."
"Are you going to forgive our grandfather and help him out now?"
"After the death of my mother, chances are slim." He noted.
.........
George's eyes paired out towards the plain road. It was already running late and for the first time in a long time, it felt as though a sudden weight had been pulled off his shoulders
He was now a trillionaire, back to his initial firm, his grandfather wanted him back.
But after thinking about it for a while, he stopped to think. He could establish his own business and there was no need for them. Just as they tossed him.
But he was doing all of this for his father after all and this wasn't what he would have wanted for him.
A slight sign escaped from his mouth
And in the real sense, he had always been the owner of the company.
Though it was a tough decision for him, he decided to fulfill the last wish of his father and help out.
He brought out the card from his pocket and the clock on the meal, he had just two hours to make it to the appointment.
Getting a ride, he could be there in an hour and he could get a decent well for himself since he was so famished.
He got a cab to take him where he wanted to be. He stared at the gigantic building, not knowing if it was still owned by the family group.
A lot might have changed that he knew nothing about.
Brassing up, he walked straight towards the front desk to book a temporary seat until his grandfather arrived but to his surprise, he met someone there who made his teeth clench and his hands made that cracking sound out of anger.
It was Sophia.
But in her eyes, he could see the image of Georgia.
She turned around towards him almost immediately and her lips broke up into a sudden frown as she twisted her nose with so much disgust.
"What are you doing here?" The frown that was initially hanging on her face deepened even more.
"Don't you think that I should be the one asking that question?" He returned with an evil, more stale stare.
Then a sudden voice came from behind.
"What's going on here?" The manly voice vibrated in the whole hall.
The man walked towards them swiftly and planted a kiss on Sophia's face.
His eyes turned around towards George with a disgusted look hanging on his face.
"Who is he and what is he doing here?" He inquired.
"The guy that your friend told you about." She replied.
"Oh, the delusional freak. What's he found here now?" There was a trace of disgust and humor in his voice.
"Well, I can guess properly." Sophia snapped with a dark smile.
"Georgia has been the one feeding the hell out of him and now that she is no longer around, he is so famished and here to beg for a while." She replied with a thunderous laughter.
"Well, I am afraid he won't be getting anything here." Her boyfriend added.
He frowned at their obvious stupidity because as far as he knew they were the delusional ones there.
"Do you think so?" He smirked his aura and the texture of his voice completely changed.
"Sorry guys. I had to get the booking list." A lady in a business suit stormed in a few minutes later, whipping the sweat off her face with her handkerchief. Her eyes sped off towards George almost immediately and sped off towards the well-dressed couples, random thoughts ran through her head almost immediately but she could hardly make anything out of it since she didn't want to make a mistake.Meanwhile, Michael could already read the thoughts in her head and she gave her the response that she was looking for even before she asked."He is certainly not with us. Just some sort of beggar that we picked up from random begging." He added. Her eyes sped off towards George's fall while skimming from his head to his toes."We are expecting some dignities here today and I will advise you to leave immediately before you give this store a bad reputation.""I can always refer you to somewhere they give free meals." She returned our hands to the computer that she had been working on."Oh. That
A tense air filled the whole hall as anyone could not get a grasp as to what was going on."Sir, I think that you are making a huge mistake here. This is the punk that claims to have money just to cause a...""Punk?" A thunderous slap landed on her face even before she could finish the statement.""Do you realize that is who I am waiting for?" She yelled at him.Even though it seemed as though her face was up in flames, the revelation of what she just heard struck her even more. She stared at George for a while with a dark smile hanging on his face. The confidence, the classic words. She would have read meanings to them earlier. Now she knew that she was in a whole lot of trouble. But she could not believe him for just his words and there was no way that he was anybody important. She could not let him fool her boss."I think you are making a really huge mistake ma'am. He is a pure punk.""At least I can testify to that." Sophia mattered."Are you trying to say that I don't know what I
Memories flooded once again but he was able to control himself this time as he made his way to the table. But even before he could get to draw the chair out, Olive helped him with it. "You came alone. Aren't you afraid that I might want to do something to you? Even if it might, I would be facing the law?" "The only thing that I know about you is that you have a good heart. I have always wanted to meet you all this while." "Wished that you had noticed this good heart earlier." He noted but without a frown. A smile hovered on the lips of his grandfather. If there was anything that he wanted for that night, it was the fact that he did not want the discussion to storm off in that direction. "I think we should eat first." He finally averted the discussion. "Okay." The meal was brought and George had to try as much as he could for his stomach not to disgrace him with the rumbling sound. And hopefully, it didn't. No matter how hungry he was, he had never thrown away his manners. S
His mouth was water pouring, and his eyes stuck to his reality. He couldn't believe it as he thought it was just a dream. Hopefully, he prayed it shouldn't be a dream but a mind fantasy seeing him.Damn, what the hell is he doing here? Must he appear in every scene of my life?He walked straight into the building and pretended not to see him, but was inevitably stopped by Kevin."Hey you, what on earth are you doing here?""Oh! You. Do you work here?"What sort of question is that? Punk like you shouldn't be seen anywhere around here. Or I guess you are either here to re-apply for a job or you are here to repeat history""Yes actually, I am here to apply for any job I can find my hand doing. Thank God you are aware"He tried taking a step forward when he was still stopped by Kevin."You still have the gods to lift your legs? Please stand there while the receptionist comes for you" He said while looking at him with contempt and an intention of laughing.A few seconds later, the recepti
"Hold on. If you don't have respect for yourself, at least try to have it for the manager of this company"George quickly grasped through his words and stood humbled.Henry moves closer to Armstrong and silently explained"This is the new personal cleaner that tidies the desk and interior of the manager. He was just employed yesterday and is currently on an emergency journey with permission from his boss."Oh, I can see. I suspected such although, I thought he was an old staff member in the company.I have never seen him before anyway. Hope it's fine with the ratched ass?""Yeah, it's cool with him. He just needs to acquaint himself with the environment here, and the nature of the job expected of him to execute"Henry defended by blowing up the big lie. The arrogant Armstrong lastly informed him of an important discussion between them."Never mind anyway. I need to work on some documents and award some contracts. I may not have the time to come to your office today but bear in mind th
He picked up the phone to his surprise she took it upon herself to call him first."Hello pretty. Wow, yeah, you called" He speaks while trying to organize himself and the kind of words he would use on her."Yeah, greetings young master. I believe you got home in peace?""Yes dear I did""Alright. Hmm. Hmm. I just wanna…""Oh, emm(cough). I am fine and what about you? How is it going with you?"I'm cool. I just wanna have cool words with you, like yeah, talking" She said as her words were staggered. He was also staggered as he did not know what to say. Suddenly, he started to feel an aura of tidings coming to him as they talked but by this time, he wasn't sure whether to go deeper on her or to just maintain casual words and friendship with her."Alright then, em. When would you be free during the week? " He asked."Uh, hope there are no issues? She asked in a gurly manner."Nope. Just a date, so we can, you know, get to know each other""Okay. I will get back to you with a text before
On the contrary, Kelvin would be preparing for a T.V. presentation where he would be briefing the people of Klev concerning the coming contract that would be given and headed by him. Before this time, on a Tuesday morning, he was seen speaking with Georgia's parents and relatives in their house."I am very happy about your achievement and your agility towards fulfilling a great future""Cool sir. I am determined to excel and to make my name appear in the sands of history""But my dear, how do you do it?" Cornelius, Gerogias father pushed more in their conversation."Sir, the truth is that I am an important brand to the 'Hopkins Group' and the time and energy I have invested in them, can't be over-emphasized. For example, I have been the brain behind many successes to their credit and I think this is the right time for me to shine as well" He stressed."Oh I see that you are a hard-working man and if many lazy dudes out there can be industrious like you, then Klev will be known as the
On Monday morning, the sun appeared friendly in the sky, and the environment saw a multitude of business dudes going to their different workplaces. However, the day wasn't going to appear good and reasonable for Armstrong and Kelvin. That morning, the office saw different scenes of files passing through different hands and tables. Behold, a few minutes after the contract was signed by Kelvin, and previously approved by Armstrong, cheerful conversations filled the company atmosphere"Congratulations friend, we have done it" They shook hands passionately and merried for joy. Also, many of their compatriots who are also staff of the company, celebrated the good news with them, and by influence, they posted it on social media and it was quickly published on different News firms."I'm happy for you Kelvin," Armstrong said"Thank you very much my greatest boss, without you this can't be possible," Kelvin said. Both friends walked up to Armstrong's office and there, they were happy as they i
The president Harryson, after hearing from Miss.Olive, was not convince whether she would properly handle the case just as she promised. According to the president,if a person like George was been capable of being hurt successfully, then, there is no safe person in the country. Thus, while Miss. Olive handle the situation on ground, the president also informed the country's security to look into the matter. The situation was really a pathetic one in the country, that brought the hearts of many wailing and mourning. They wished that it was another person that should be abducted, and not George. George's grandparents Mr.and Mrs.Hopkins, were greatly saddened about the news. Apart from them having feelings for him like they should, they were also, been worried about the state of the 'Hopkins Group of company because once George is defeated, the company's pride and strength, will also be defeated. The next day at exactly 6:30am,police and many other security personnel a,filled Henry's environmen
Finally, the mysteries of all events in and out of Georges life, was gradually coming to an end. He has been justified by the law court and before everyone, that he is not guilty of all offence that was leveled against him. Both him and the general public, felt pity for Armstrong,Kelvin, Michael and Sophia based on the 40 years judgement that was passed against them,by the court. But the truth remains that there is nothing anyone else, could do about it because the truth has been exposed and justice has been executed..George after spending several days in his mansion,as he was deeply feeling for them, decided to move out with only two of his escorts,to purchase new vehicles. His wedding with his lover'Miss. Olive’, was just there days away from now,and he wanted to appear great on that day.He wanted every of his materials on that day,to be newly purchased. He has suffered a lot. Suffered in the hands of family members, external personels, and in the hands of love and so,he promised himsel
The shocking revelation reverberated through the wood-paneled walls of the courtroom, evoking a collective gasp. Already charged with financial crimes, Kelvin Armstrong's friend, and Sophia now faced even more serious charges: planning the deaths of George's parents. A mixture of astonishment, incredulity, and sick interest cracked the air. With a stern resolve on his face, George sat in the front row, silently finding strength in Olivia's hand. The realization tore up old scars; it was a reality he'd always suspected but never verified. In spite of the years of lying, justice was finally at hand, and a glimmer of grim delight appeared in his eyes among the wave of misery. The prosecution painstakingly put together the horrific reality, buoyed by a pile of recently discovered evidence. They revealed a story as contorted as the coil of a serpent. It was discovered that Sophia and George's father, Jethro, had been having a covert affair. Driven by a desire for vengeance and a cunning
The news that Kelvin Armstrong, friend, and Sophia had been detained by Russian officials sent a shockwave over the world's news networks. Those who were acquainted with the Armstrong name and their complex web of deception shuddered at this unexpected turn of events. The world was aware of Russia's tense ties with the West. The country strongly defended its own, and there was widespread mistrust of any alleged outside meddling. When it came to those who were thought to pose a danger to national security or had a hint of Western influence, they weren't beyond breaking the law. Because of this, Russia came to be seen as an unbreakable fortress that was beyond the reach of the long arm of international law. Russia's borders provided commanders and others in legal difficulties in the West with a safe haven and a shelter from responsibility. But this time, circumstances were different. There was a lot of guesses in the news reporting. The vast Russian countryside seemed to be being swep
Excitement was in the air as George took in the lavish ballroom. The long tables were covered in soft white tablecloths and beautifully placed flower arrangements, all bathed in a warm glow from the sun streaming through the large windows. It was just a few days away from his wedding to Olivia, the lady who made his life brighter again. For the first time in ages, George had a true feeling of calmness descend over him. All of the hardships of the previous several months, including the conflict with Armstrong and Mr. Joseph's slander campaign, appeared to take a backseat. Olivia had been his defence through the storm, her unfailing support and contagious optimism. Now he watched her, her dazzling smile lighting up the room as she spoke to the wedding coordinator about the finishing details. She looked stunning and happy, wearing a flowing white dress that provided a sneak peek at her wedding gown. Wordless affection filled George's heart to overflowing. He was eager for them to beg
Tension boiled in the air when Georgia's father, Mr. Joseph, padded into the courtroom. He seemed pale and wan, a long cry from the gregarious businessman he had previously been. His relationship with Armstrong, particularly in the defamation campaign against George, had forced him to confront the repercussions of his deeds.Under Ms. Davis, George's attorney,'s stern glare, Mr. Joseph moves uneasily and restlessly while seated at the defense table. Ms. Davis, a strong lady renowned for her piercing wit and unshakable commitment to her clients, did not take long to present her case."Mr. Joseph," she said in a loud and crisp voice, "you stand accused of collaborating with the notorious Daniel Armstrong to make up a defamatory documentary about my client, Mr. George Hopkins."The overweight attorney representing Mr. Joseph, whose face was always strained, cleared his throat. "Your Honour," he shot back. "Mr. Joseph was only acting based on facts he thought to be accurate. He was unawa
Still, a little bit of doubt gnawed at the margins of George's newly determined determination. Even when the obligations were paid off, a feeling of justice was still unsatisfied. There was a simmering sense that his uncles, now free men again, still had the capacity to cause problems. Yes, they were reprimanded, but leopards don't completely alter their spots. George still had a secret weapon in his sleeve—an ace that would eventually bring them to ruin. They may pretend to be sorry or show signs of humility, but he would see right through them. He was aware that their desire for riches and power persisted, like a ticking time bomb ready to go off.Meanwhile, another type of tension simmered in the air behind the antiseptic walls of the military jail. Seated opposite his imprisoned son Armstrong was a haggard man with a haunting expression in his eyes: Mr. Daniel Armstrong's father. The older Armstrong's eyes filled with tears, and the harsh fluorescent light glinted off them. Shame
The military prison facility's impersonal white walls made Armstrong feel insignificant. The luxurious furnishings and soft carpeting from his former confinement cell have vanished. Here, concrete was king and the sole decoration was a single fluorescent bulb that flickered and gave him a sickly, ugly glow. His thoughts were filled with the picture of Mrs. Janeth's stern glare, a terrifying reminder of his demise. In his isolation, bitterness was a continual companion, eating away at him. That George, his own cousin, had turned him in was beyond shocking to him. It brought back memories of a carefree, youthful period of life. George, beaming and teasing, the familial tie appearing indestructible. But that George was long dead, long since replaced by a man whose sense of justice and duty had hardened him. When Armstrong was originally discovered engaging in questionable activities directed against the Hopkins Group, which was led by George's father at the time, pardon had been grante
The sound of gunshots reverberated around the deserted warehouse. Mrs. Janeth huddled behind a stack of boxes, her heart a frenzied drum solo on her ribs. Angry lights shooting from across the room revealed dust motes dancing in the air. George's security system, a well-oiled apparatus refined for just these kinds of circumstances, was engaged in a vicious dance with Armstrong's men.The sharp sting of cordite and the metallic flavour of gunpowder filled the air. Mrs Janeth heard bullets squeak past her head and sink into the corrugated metal walls with a horrible thud. The guttural roar of automatic guns and the anguished screams of the injured broke the staccato pattern of firing.Colonel Petrov and his tactical battalion proceeded with well-honed precision across the large, open area. Their motions were lethal and precise, like those of ghosts in the shadows. Their guns fired in short, deliberate bursts that quickly and precisely neutralised Armstrong's soldiers. The sound of metal
