Chapter 3 - Shopping Spree

When Drew exited the hospital, he flagged down a taxi.

"Where to?" the taxi man asked respectfully.

"The nearest boutique. The faster you get me there, the more tips you will recieve" Drew said as he got in.

The taxi man's eyes lit up. Another generous customer.

He instantly stepped on the pedal and brought the vehicle to life.

While the taxi man did his best to drive at his maximum, Drew sat comfortably at the back seat.

He opened the system panel and tried increasing his strength stat.

-[To increase strength stat by +1 costs 2 deci points]

Drew went ahed, successfully increasing his strength stat. He only felt a slight ache in his biceps before the feeling vanished.

Drew used up another six deci points, successfully increasing it to seven.

He squandered the remaining ten deci points on his physique, bringing it on par with his strength stat.

Due to this, his base damage increased.

"This is not enough! i have to spend more money and get more deci points" he thought inwardly.

At that moment, the taxi man halted.

"Why did you stop?" Drew jolted up in surprise.

"Uh sir, we are at the boutique already" the taxi man replied.

"Oh" Drew looked through the mirror and saw the huge boutique.

He got down and poked his head through the driver's window.

 "How much is your fare?"

"Five dollars. You promised to add tips, remember?" the taxi man hurriedly reminded Drew.

Just as he wanted to pay up, he suddenly remembered that he didn't have any cash on him.

Damn, he only had money in his bank account.

"Uhm.." staring at the expectant taxi man, he didn't know what to say.

"Is there a problem sir?" the taxi man noticed something was wrong.

"Uh, there is a complication. You see, i just came from the bank after doing a deposit. I don't have cash currently so can.."

Drew didn't even complete his sentence when the taxi man interrupted with a sneer.

"Weren't you coming out from a hospital?"

Drew felt even more embarrassed. He didn't expect his little white lie to get exposed.

"Well.." he wanted to explain, but would the other party let him.

"Sheesh. I never expected you to be one of those scammers out there. How dare you ride on my taxi and refuse to pay?" the taxi man got out from the vehicle and held Drew by the collar.

"Mister, it hasn't gotten to that level of violence is it? It's just five dollars right?" Drew smiled bitterly.

"Then pay up if you can. Do you think i don't dare hit you?" the taxi man brought a clenched fist closer to Drew face.

Seeing that the other party wanted to resort to violence, Drew used Analysis on him.

If his opponent was weaker than him, then maybe he could make a run for it.

Drew sighed in relief upon seeing the result. The opponent was weaker than him!

Just as he wanted to beat it, a stern voice interrupted his thoughts.

"What do you think you are doing huh?"

A burly man in english suit took long strides towards Drew's direction.

He and his colleagues were the guards stationed at the entrance of the boutique.

Just now, they noticed these two men of unknown origin about to erupt in a brawl. So he had no choice but to stop them.

If other customers saw this scene, it would make the boutique's reputation decrease.

"This bastard here rode on my taxi and refuses to pay. Of course i am about to beat him up" the taxi man replied in a 'matter of factly' way.

"I said i don't have cash. Can't you accept through bank transfer?!" Drew felt aggrieved.

If the public knew the world richest man was being dragged down to pay up a meagre bill of five dollars, how would they feel.

"You heard the man, don't you accept through bank transfer?" the body guard frowned.

"You should've said so from the first moment" the taxi man grumbled and called out his account number.

Drew brought out his phone and did the transfer. Seconds later, the taxi man heard a beep from within his vehicle.

"That must be the credit alert. Can you let me go now?" Drew smirked lackadaisically.

"Hmph" the taxi man released his grip off Drew's collar.

He got into his taxi and drove off.

"Man. That was embarrassing" Drew scratched his nose.

"Next time, never forget your wallet" the guard gave a friendly reply.

He thought the reason Drew couldn't pay up was because he forgot his wallet.

"My name is Drew" Drew extended his hand for an handshake

 "Mario" the guard accepted.

The two men shook hands. Drew was the first to break the silence.

"I want to buy some clothes for myself. Where do i go?" he asked.

"Just walk in. At your left, you will see the male section. Enjoy your day" Mario smiled.

When Drew stepped into the boutique, he was mesmerized by the sheer size and fancy decor.

He noticed people gathered around the cashier booth.

Once in a while, somebody would place their shopping bags on the Cashier's desk. The cashier would input something on the computer and that person would be free to leave.

Following Mario's advice, Drew walked towards the left, arriving at the male section.

Oxford shirts, sneakers, pants, baseball caps, sweatshirts, etc.

Drew saw a lot of male clothing. Taking a glance at the price tags, he nodded in satisfaction.

The minimum price started at $100 And increased up to a thousand bucks at maximum

At that instant, Drew made a decision. He would buy as many stuff as he could.

Money wasn't a problem after all.

At that time, he noticed an unread notification.

-[You have face slapped the taxi man by paying him more than tenfold his fare]

-[You have been rewarded with +2 deci points]

At that moment, the taxi of before was parked at a corner of the road.

Inside the vehicle, the taxi man kept on staring at his phone screen.

His mouth was dead open? Yet he could barely say a word.

A thousand dollars! that was what was credited to his account.

"Did that man really transferred this sum to me? or was it just a coincidence?" he questioned himself.

Drew erupted in an aggressive shopping spree, grabbing every and any clothes he saw. Naturally, his actions garnered the attention of the other customers.

 "Look at that guy!"

"He's shopping like a lady. Look! he doesn't even bothers to check the price tag or something"

"Look! he just picked that branded shirt that cost two thousand dollars!"

Just when everyone were in awe for Drew's lavish shopping, somebody snorted.

It was a young man wearing shades and branded clothes. His hair was styled stylishly and the diamond chain necklace around his neck was quite eye catching.

 "What an idiot" he snorted.

Although he wasn't too loud, most customers in the male section managed to hear his words.

He became the center of attention. The stylish young man puffed out his chest and continued.

"Everyone, don't be deceived by that man over there" he pointed towards Drew.

"A moment ago when i arrived at the boutique, i saw him in a conflict with a taxi man. Apparently, he couldn't afford to pay for a taxi ride. So how could he afford to pay for these many clothes?" the stylish young man sniggered.

"Maybe this young man is right"

"Yeah. Come to think of it, this man isn't wearing branded clothes like us"

"Hell, look at his shoe. Did he pick them up from the dumpsite"

Humans were a complicated race who always went with the flow. Since the stylish young man 'exposed' Drew and there was enough reason to back up his claims, they began to throw in their support.

They all thought Drew was doing this for clout.

After shopping to his satisfaction, Drew stopped. From the beginning to the end, he completely ignored the gossips flying around about him.

He was now the world's richest man. It would be demeaning of his status to exchange words with this group of low lives.

Under the attention of everyone, he pushed his three carts loaded with expensive clothing towards the cashier in the male section.

The stylish young man sneered inwardly. He was waiting for Drew to embarrass himself.

Although shocked, the cashier began to inspect the clothes Drew bought, as well as allocating their prices.

After a while, the cashier looked up at Drew.

"Sir. Everything you bought costs twenty six thousand dollars"

Drew nodded. However inwardly, he was extremely excited.

Twenty six thousand dollars! doing the maths, wouldn't that give him twenty six deci points?

Adding the one thousand dollars he transferred to the taxi man, that would be twenty seven deci points.

He refused to believe these wouldn't be enough for him to reach level one.

Drew asked for the boutique account number. To everyone's shock, he transferred the money to the company.

Not a penny less. How could he miss out on this chance to earn deci points.

Infact, he even wished to send triple the price. However he didn't do so.

Rollie warned him to not spend lavishly without a reasonable reason.

After the clothes were packaged, Drew swaggered out under the gawking gazes of all in the boutique.

As for the stylish man, his face looked like one who just ate a fly.
