Chapter 23

The car returned to being noiseless as they waited for the lights to turn green.

Mason's eyes peered at the traffic light until it gave a sign for him to go. He stepped on the acceleration and the car zoomed off with a high sweep.

They drove for twenty-five more minutes until Mason finally halted the car.

He noticed there were no motions or words or even any attentiveness from Samantha for a couple of minutes. His head slanted to the back, redirecting his eyes to Samantha.

"We're here?" he announced and those words echoed in Samantha's head.

"The keys," Samantha ordered instead.

Mason moaned under his breath, biting on his bottom lips to prevent himself from saying anything.

"Have you gone deaf? I said give the keys to me!" Samantha exclaimed.

Did Mason have a choice? Of course not.

Without any protest from him, he surrendered the keys to Samantha and got out of the car.
