Ryder
"Come on, you have wake up before they come back," a male voice said in Ryder's ear. The male voice shook Ryder, trying to wake him up.
Ryder groaned and slowly opened his eyes to see a man in front of him.
The man had straight black hair that hung over his eyes. He was also very muscular like Ryder. The man wore a clean white short sleeve shirt underneath an opened black button down shirt. The man wore tan jeans with an expensive looking brown belt.
"Oh good, you are awake now. We have to leave before those things come back," the man said, getting up and putting a hand out for Ryder to grab.
"What happened?" Ryder asked as he grabbed the man's hand.
The man lifted him up and said, "I heard a loud boom when I was upstairs and I came to see what had made the sound. That is when I found you lying on the floor."
Ryder said, "Thanks for helping me. I don't know what would've happened to me if you didn't help." Ryder suddenly realized the man's height. "Wow! You are tall! You must be 6'6!"
The man laughed and smiled. Ryder couldn't help smiling back. "We should probably go before they come back."
Ryder nodded but as he took a step forward, he fell to the floor. The man helped him up and asked, "Are you ok?"
Ryder shook his head. "My side really hurts. I think I must've broken a rib when the Devil threw me into the wall."
"The Devil?" The man asked.
"There's this gigantic creature in this house that looks like the Devil, so I call it that. I call the other monsters demons," Ryder explained.
The man nodded and said, "Let me take a look at where you got hurt."
Ryder lifted his shirt for the man to see. The man knelt down and said, "There is a big, purple bruise on your ribcage. I am going to put pressure on different spots around the bruise. Tell me where it hurts most."
The man used his hand to put pressure near the big bruised area. He began to put pressure outside the bruised area then slowly moved inside. Once the man's hand was close to the bruised area on Ryder's side, he winced.
The man continued to move closer to the center and it hurt Ryder more and more each time. Before the man could fully make it to the center, Ryder yelled and cursed.
The man got up and said, "You must have broken a rib or two. Do you think you'll be able to walk if I help you?"
"I can try," Ryder said.
The man put Ryder's right arm on his shoulder and put a hand around his torso. The man slowly walked forward as Ryder limped next to him.
"I just realized I haven't asked for your name," Ryder said.
"I am, uhh... I am Luci," the man stammered.
Why was it so hard for him to say his name? Ryder thought. "Luci?" Ryder asked. "Not to be mean or anything, but isn't that a name for a girl?"
"That is just a nickname people use for me," Luci quickly said. "How about you? What is your name?" Luci asked, trying to change the subject.
"Ryder. So, where are we going, Luci?"
"We are going to go where I have been staying ever since I have been in this house," Luci said.
"Ok. How long have you been in this house?" Ryder asked.
"I am not sure. Maybe a year or so," he replied. Ryder stopped walking and turned his face to look at Luci. "What is it?"
"You've been in this house for so long and no one has reported you missing?" Ryder asked.
Luci looked at Ryder for a moment then answered, "It is because I have no family here."
"How about friends? Or coworkers? Someone must've noticed you were missing."
Luci shook his head and said, "I have no one here."
"I'm so sorry to hear that. But we can get out of this place together." Ryder suddenly remembered Saanvi and said, "Have you seen a girl with long black hair? She was wearing a blue and white tie dye sweater and black leggings."
"I am afraid I have not. I am sorry," Luci said.
"It's alright. But I need to find her before we leave the mansion."
"Leave?"
"Yeah. We can't stay here," Ryder said. "This place is too dangerous. We need to leave as soon as we can... Haven't you tried to leave yet?"
Luci didn't answer for a moment as if he was thinking what he should say next. After a few moments of silence, he finally replied, "Of course I have. Let me take you to were I have been staying and then I will help you look for whoever you are looking for."
Ryder and Luci walked toward the stairs and Ryder asked, "Wait. We're going to go upstairs?"
Luci nodded. "I have a room up there. If you can not walk up them, I will carry you."
Ryder nodded and they slowly approached the stairs. Luci went behind Ryder, ready to catch him if he fell back. Ryder clutched the railing as he walked up the first step. Pain shot throughout his body but he didn't let that stop him.
Ryder continued to slowly walk up the extreamely long staircase. Ryder paused halfway up for a break. "Give me a second," Ryder said, gasping from the pain.
"Would you want me to carry you for the rest of the way?" Luci offered.
"I'm ok. I can do it," Ryder said, taking deep breaths.
"Ok. But you might want to hurry up. I do not know how much longer we can be lucky and not run into my demons," Luci said.
Ryder was about to nod when he realized what Luci had said. "What do you mean by your demons?"
"Uhh... I-I didn't say my demons. I said the demons... You must've misheard," Luci said, not looking at Ryder.
Ryder stared at Luci and said, "Ok. Whatever you say. I'm ready to continue going up. Let's go."
Luci nodded, still not looking at Ryder.
As Ryder walked up the stairs, he thought to himself, Luci's a little suspicious. But why am I suspicious of someone that saved me? Whatever, that doesn't matter. What matters is that I find Saanvi and get out of the mansion. I hope she's ok.
Saanvi Saanvi walked through the bloody hallway underneath the house. It was dimly lit and she could barely see 5 feet in front of her. She put her hands in front of her, protecting her from slamming her face into a wall like she had a few times before. Saanvi had been walking for a while and wondered when the hallway would end. Saanvi continued to walk but slowed to a stop and squinted her eyes. She thought she saw a shadow darker than the shadows surrounding it. She slowly took a few steps closer to the darker shadow. She squinted harder and and thought she could an outline of red horns way above her. That's when she realized what it was. It was the Devil and it was standing right in front of the stairway that led upstairs. To Ryder. And to the escape. She slowly stepped backward and tripped over her own feet. She gasped when she thought the Devil might've seen and heard her but realized it hadn't moved. Saanvi felt a mix of confusion, fear, and cur
Ryder Ryder panted, clutching his stomach as he reached the top of the stairs. Lucifer walked past him and looked down both hallways. Pointing to the right he said, "It's this way. Come on." Lucifer lead Ryder through the huge hallway. The tall ceiling towered above them. There were huge windows on their left and many red doors on their right. In between every red door, there was an electrical torch that lit up the hallway, allowing them to see ahead of them. Outside the windows it was dark and Ryder wondered how long he was passed out of the floor. I'm so lucky that Luci found me before the demons did, Ryder thought as he limped behind Luci. They continued walking and when Ryder thought he wouldn't be able to go any father, Luci said, "Here we are." He stopped in front of a black door and said, "This is where I have been staying." Luci opened the door to reveal the most beautiful and massive room Ryder had ever seen. Ryder stepped inside the room and looked inside.
Saanvi Saanvi limped through the dark hallway, clutching her stomach with one hand and using the wall for support with the other. She stopped hearing the Devil’s cries of pain a little while ago and was both relived and guilty. She felt bad about hurting it but she also didn't. The Devil had killed eight innocent people and it was going to kill her and Ryder next. But Saanvi also couldn’t stand to see anything in pain. As she walked through the hallway, she thought, I’m sorry, but you made me. Saanvi didn’t know how long she had been walking and her stomach was hurting more and more after each step. She needed to rest but there were no doors down this long hallway. As Saanvi walked through the hallway, she thought, I must've turned the wrong way at the stairs. I'm sure the Devil didn't take me through this long hallway. Saanvi sighe. I should've went the other way... Too late now. I'm not going to go all the way back. I need to rest. Surely a hallway couldn't
Ryder Ryder opened his eyes. He immediately closed again when a streak of blinding light hit his eye. Ryder groaned and opened them again, slower this time. He let his eyes adapt to the bright light. He turned his head to the left to see a bowl of water and a bloody towel on the nightstand. He turned his head to the right and saw the curtains pulled away from the window. Ryder sat up and winced at the pain from his ribcage. He looked in front of him and saw Luci coming out from the bathroom. He looked like he had just gotten out of a shower with a white towel around his waist as he used a smaller one to dry his hair. Ryder slowly got up and asked, "You took a shower?" "Yeah. Why? What is wrong?" Luci asked, walking over to him. "I just thought that we shouldn't do that. What if the demons heard us? Or worse... The Devil." "They're not allowed in here," Luci said, sitting on the enormous bed. "What?" Ryder said, staring at Luci. Luci paused a moment befo
Saanvi Saanvi sniffled and lifted herself off the floor. She turned around and looked at the door behind her. Bits of wood had fallen off when the demons had banged on the door. Saanvi didn’t realize they had stopped hitting the door until she stopped crying a little while ago. She didn’t want to open the door even after the banging stopped. She was too scared to step foot outside this room. She thought they might be out there. Waiting for her. Saanvi placed her hand on the doorknob. She kept it there for a while, not moving. She knew she couldn’t stay there forever. She had to leave at some point. Better now than later, she thought to herself. Saanvi turned the doorknob and slowly opened the door. It creaked quietly. She opened the door until she had a small gap so she could see the outside hallway. There was light from the windows that lit up the hallway. It’s already daytime? I wonder how long I’ve been in here. The room Saanvi was in didn’t have any windows

Ryder “Help me Ryder!” “I’m coming Saavi!” Ryder yelled as he ran through the hallways, trying to catch up to Saanvi. Two demons held Saanvi above their heads as they ran through the mansion, taking her with them. Saanvi struggled, but they had a strong grib on her. “Please help me!” She cried, looking at Ryder with tear filled eyes. Ryder ran as fast as he could but he started to slow down. He couldn’t keep up with them. “Don’t take her! Please!” Ryder yelled. The demons suddenly took a right turn. Ryder ran faster and realized that they had went down some stairs. He stopped before stepping down. He didn’t know what was down there. It was too dark to see. “Help me Ryder!” He heard Saanvi yell, and he didn’t dwell any longer. He ran down the stairs, towards Saanvi’s cries. He reached the bottom of the stairs and looked around. It was so dark that he couldn’t see anymore than two feet in front of him. “Saanvi! Where are you?!” Ryder yelled, tu
Saanvi Saanvi jogged through the hallway with thoughts running around her brain. She was overthinking her decision. What if I make it out of the mansion and find out he's not out already? What if I come back and it's too late? What if I don't leave and look for him? Is he safe and outside of the mansion? Is he hurt and in the mansion? What do I do?! Saanvi continued to run, not letting herself cry any longer. She had wasted too much time already. She needed to get out of here and see if Ryder was out. She ran for a little while longer until she had to take a break. She leaned her back against the wall behind her and put her hands on her head. She took deep breaths. Saanvi kept her hands above her head as she started to walk. She looked to her left and noticed the staircase that led downstairs. Whew. I'm not that far now, Saanvi thought, smiling. She took a few more deep breaths and continued to jog at a good pace. She finally made
