Chapter 7: Discourteous Maids.

"He is just soo lucky that Mr. Edgardo has not yet come against him.

Maybe when the son of billionaire Senior Acevedes proposes to Mrs. Camila, he would see the need to kick him out of this house," Sara struck Carl a repugnant look while standing with her hands gripped on her curvy hips.

Carl shrinked his eyebrows at her.

Julia made sure the store room is clean again. She was astonished to discover where the Chavez son-in-law slept through out the night after he passed out. The bed was filled with dirt and tiny sticks.

She is just a housemaid in the house. If she helps Carl, she is prone to losing her one in a million job working in the house of a Multi-millionaire.

However, she remained respectful.

"Mr. Carl, I'm sorry the room was untidy. I've never been in this place until now, " she said to him.

Carl was happy to see Julia again. She was the third person who has been very kind to him.

Sara yelled, "What did you just do Julia? Who are you using the word 'Mr.' for?

"These irrelevant being. Why are you apologizing to him? "

"Are you crazy? Do you work soo hard just to lose your job Julia?"

Julia's head faced the ground with her tongue tied.

Sara turned to Carl and smugged at his faint expression.

She did not care about him so she returned her face to Julia who stood frozen on one spot.

Julia struggles to keep her mouth sealed not to say what she has in her mind that may possibly get her in trouble with Chavez family.

She hated the way her colleagues insulted Carl. She gulped her saliva into her throat and gave a disincentive look at them.

But her angelic heart could not help it.

She countered against them;

"He is still our bosses son-in-law. We should at least give him that respect, " she said.

Sara and Ligia looked at each other with surprise. They paused for a second then burst out hysterically with laughter.

Ligia had to cough as her laugher choked her on her throat.

"What a teremity you have. Such a delirious little creature, " said Ligia. She fold her arms as she belittles Julia who is the youngest.

"Why are you such a fool Julia? Your stupidity will earn you nothing but execration from Madam Vincenta and the rest of the family. "

Searing her eyes at Julia, Sara yelled:

"You will soon get yourself fired and you'll wish you had not open your dirty mouth to talked back at us!"

Saying that, she flicked away her eyes like a slay queen then hissed.

Ligia mocks Carl..

"If he's really an in-law to this family, why do they still treat him like a junk from the street huh? Like a useless Junk he really is right now. Just take a look at him. I could vomit after this."

"I wonder why Mr. Edgardo should waste money to buy a present for someone like him, gosh!" She said with annoyance like she was the one that was hurt mostly by it.

Carl was ashamed to look at their faces. He was angry with the way they address him and wanted to talk back at them, but what would he say. He is the one actually looking like a dreck before them.

Both apathetic housemaids were already seeing it as a waste of time to stand before his presence.

Sara turns at Julia: "Since you are soo generous, why don't you do the work yourself. You can take him to the bathroom and even join him in the shower if you want " she said and Ligia outburst in laughter.

"mtceeu," she loudly hissed and wave her black long hair to the other side of her face.

They did not bother to stare another glance at the poor son-in-law before dashing out of the store room, wickedly laughing as they left Julia behind.

With that, Carl knew they were sent to patch him up.

He thought; "Is my love for Camila worth all these?"

"Mr. Carl!" Julia snapped him from his thoughts.

She continued,

"I'm sorry about all of that. Please, you will have to clean up because Mr. Edgardo is already back from his trip. Madam Vincenta's order.. " she said to him humbly.

Carl felt shame to look at her face but with a little delight he managed to speak.

"Thank you Julia. I will remain indebted to you for what you risk for me in this house I promise " Saying, he forced a smile on his gloomy face.

Julia explained, "There is a bathroom behind you to take your bath Mr. Carl.

Carl knew his body is already producing offensive smells around the room and seriously needs to shower.

At the time, he was very hungry and untamed. Pitifully, he begs Julia.

"Please Julia, can you fetch me even if it is the remnants of the leftover foods in the house for me to subdue my hunger.. "

It hurts Julia to see Carl in such a miserable state. She refused to reason like her colleagues who believe he is a poor gold digger.

A gold digger to her will be soo crafty and smart to extort money from the wealthy family which he never did.

"Okay Mr. Carl, I'll be right back. Just give me some minutes," Julia answered. She let out a small smile before she left the place.

Carl did as the housemaids has said.

The bathroom was filled with dust that Carl imagined,

"Does this sort of place really exist in this residence?"

____

After taking his bath, he saw that Julia has already brought him some clothes to wear, a brown top with vertical red lines at the surface with a pair of blue jeans, and a belt was by the side of the clothes. The clothes looked ironed.

He thought, Julia must have sneakily help him to iron these clothes, no one else could have done it for him.

Also. She did not forget to bring him a very nice dish and clean cup of water. Surprisingly to him, it does not look like they were leftovers or scrap of dishes.

He didn't know if he should smile. He wondered how Julia was able to bring both the clothes and the dish to him. He was soo glad and grateful to her.

..

After he has emptied his dish and quench his thirst for water, he heaved deeply. That was when the thought about his wife flashed back into his mind.

"Camila?!" Mentioning her name, he gasped.

His heart almost became feeble again.

"I begged her to give me a chance and be patient with me. I promised her I would be a better man to her, that she should give me some time. But she smiles when her rich boss from her office hugged and kissed her before my f-face " he painfully recollected.

He became soo flummoxed once again.

***

It was almost 11: 00 AM when Carl entered the main livingroom of the mansion that looks more like a big throne.

When he first stepped inside, he felt the nervousness he never felt before.

Already, the guest has left the house and it was just remaining the members of the family and the housemaids that were in the house.

A chilly friday morning it was and it's quite a day for rest or family vacations.

Carl never smell the fresh air of warn holidays while living with the Chavez family.

Already, his day has started roughly and brought a lot of discomfort in his heart and mind.

Barbara, the eldest grand-daughter of the family was the most spoiled. On the sight of Carl's presence in the living room, she scorned at him;

"Oaww! The dopey mad is he..re" she said, delivering an hysterical giggle at her uncle who appeared a little rough.

Sergio, the youngest child of the family was quick to countered against her.

"You do have very bad manners and lack of respect little girl," Sergio yelled.

"You ill-mannered really do not know your kind of mate to insult right?" He was annoyed.

Barbara clucked at her uncle, Sergio with disrespect.

Vivian, Barbara's slay mother when she heard what was transpiring in the living room, hurries out with a glass of orange juice dangling between her fingers.

She catwalked and stood behind the sofa her daughter was seated.

"Who is that annoying knucklehead that have the guts to shun my own daughter?" Wearing a ferocious look on her spotless face, she yells.

She looked at her little daughter and turned at Sergio.

"Oh my! " Sergio gasped.

He was quite afraid of his elder sister.

He looked at his position in the family. He is the youngest and their father's favorite son.

That alone gave him the boldness to talk back at her.

"At least teach your little daughter some morals and how to respect people older than she is. How can she be soo spoiled.. " Without fear, he responded to her.

Vivian felt soo insulted. Her blood boils.

"You draught-head! Do you realise that you are talking to your elder sister? How dare you call my daughter a spoiled brat??" In anger, she vented. Her vile eyes fixed strongly on him.

Sergio was quite moved by her aggression.

She turns to Carl who continued to walk slowly, heading for the stairs.

She pointed at him: "Or is it because of this beggar? He made you to talk back on me right?!" She growled.

Carl never liked Vivian but he could only accept any word that she throws at him since he lives in her father's house.

He endures it all for the sake of his marriage.

...

Vivian's voice was soo loud.

Intentionally, she was calling the attention of her wicked mother and her brothers.

Vincenta, without wasting any time arrived at the living room.

Carl trembled under his feet.

The last time her saw her, she stood at his front when her two rogue sons beat him to stupor and locked him in a room that looks like a prison house.

"What would she do to me this time?" He mutters silently to himself with a puzzled look...
