The Garden

Sarah clutched onto her cutlery as she glared at the well fried beef. The table was quiet and only the sound of the cutleries clashing against the plates could be heard

"How's it going with Vincent?" Lady Shirley asked, breaking the silence that surrounded the room

"Haven't heard from him" Samael answered. His eyes moving to glance at his sister who was unusually quiet

"Pay him a visit. Knowing him fully well, he would probably be at 'The Garden'" She said to Samael and he nodded

"Mum, why don't I-" Sarah stopped when she saw the glare passed by her mother

"Don't Sarah. You've been more than enough humiliation for the day. Let your brother handle Vincent"

"Humiliation? Mum, it was that slave's fault for spilling water on me"

"You should have been more reserved. How can you downgrade yourself by arguing with a servant. How do you expect the Lord to take a liking to you?"

"What was I supposed to do then?"

"Act ladylike. Follow the royal etiquette" Sarah had no words to defend herself. She angrily stood up and stormed out of the room

....

Harmony stood with her head down as she stared at her feet. Right now, she was left in the room along with Lord Darian who stared at her without saying a word

"What's so interesting down there that you keep staring at?" Darian questioned, slightly tilting his head to the side

"N-nothing, Milord" she answered

"Look at me" he said, patiently waiting for her to raise her head but she didn't "Look at me" he unhurriedly repeated

Harmony raised her head up and stared straight at him. Darian's upper lip curled up into a sneer as he stared dauntingly at her

His gaze was intimidating and Harmony was forced to look away. Darian's face held a look of disappointment and he slowly stood up

Harmony could hear his footsteps slowly approaching her and when he was only an inch away, she was forced to moved backward

"Harmony..." he suddenly called and Harmony's breath hitched. She couldn't help but wonder how he knew her name and the way her name smoothly rolled off his tongue made her nervous

"M-milord?" She replied as if awaiting his instructions and Darian chuckled at her reaction. He stared at her with an unknown expression, he didn't know why but there was something in her that piqued his interest

He took more steps closer to her and Harmony stared at him in surprise. Her brown eyes stared into his and she noticed the dark red of his irises

Harmony nervously rubbed her palm together as he kept on approaching her

"You remind me of a scene I can't get out of my head, Harmony" He said, stopping to stand right in front of her "A scene of a lonely, scared rabbit trying to hide from being preyed upon by the big bad wolf" With his hands tucked in his pocket, he loomed over her

He bent his back down a little such that his face was right in front of her

He sneered staring straight into her eyes and Harmony tried to maintain his gaze but she was finding it hard to. Darian took in a deep breath, taking in her feminine scent which surprisingly he found to be alluring and seductive

His gaze moved towards her neck which was partly covered by her brown hair. His eyes became darker as it lingered there for a moment. He could feel the blood pulsing through her veins. His hand left his pocket and reached out to her neck

Harmony held her breath as she saw his hand moving towards her. She felt him brush away the hair which partly covered her neck and his fingers trailed the line from her neck down to her shoulder and she tightly gripped the sides of the dress

"Leave" He dismissed her, placing his hands back in his pocket. Not waiting another second, Harmony did as she was told hastily
