Blaize stood by the side of the window, watching the little movements that seldom occurred in the alley. He did not understand why the alley was so dark and secluded. The alley would be a perfect place to orchestrate a crime and those were the kind of places people were taught to avoid in Elderien. Mages and guards took shifts to prevent Lawbreakers to perpetuate immoral things at such places.

But there he was, tired, hunted, and doing the freaking best he could at that moment. He didn't want the Buba to find them by surprise. He did not like surprises, to begin with. He wanted to be aware if they managed to find them and curb their efforts before it was too late.

Blaize glanced at Victoria who was sleeping on the table. The wound had been dressed but her shirt was ripped to get her access. A clean piece of clothing was placed over her to protect her decency. Surprisingly, it was the ride woman who did it.
