The Triumph

Cara gazed at her hands and legs, knowing it had happened again. Her powers had saved her yet again but she still felt weak and powerless.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror, her perfectly healed face staring right back at her. Did her powers need to wait until she was dead to spring into action? What was the essence of having so much power and being so special if she could not control it?

She was tired of it all. She was confused. She needed an out. It seemed that the world around her did not care that she was just sixteen. She did not have the opportunity to grow as normal Children do.

"What is wrong with me?"

She asked herself. How was she supposed to save the world if she didn't know how the mechanics of her powers worked? Maybe she was always destined to be its destroyer, the greatest conqueror. Burn everything to the ground, and make sure none is left. That way, the other part of her destiny would be fulfilled.

The door to her supposed room opened and Garrick walked in
