The shadow

Alastair groaned as the effect of the alcohol he had consumed began to exert its effect on him. He got up Lazily from the grass he had passed the night on, a distance not too far from a horse's stable. As he stood up, one of the horses kept looking at him. He scoffed when he saw the horse.

"What are you looking at?"

He asked the horse and trudged along. He was speaking with random animals now? He was still drunk then. The sunlight hit his face and he groaned, shielding his eyes from the light. He sighed and kept walking.

The previous night had been a long one for him. Alastair had gotten tired of everything and decided to take a break. He knew he had failed in his mission and the world might burn for it. He could not even keep Cara safe and closer to him. He had to lose her. Just one simple task and he had to lose her.
