Just as the men were about to carry out the instructions, August yelled, “Stop!” The men halted in their tracks and turned their gazes toward him. “Don’t you want to know who the new restaurant owner is before breaking into his cash room? You might get into a lot of trouble later that could be avoided if you listen to me,” August warned.

“What do you mean?” Damien frowned. “I don’t care who the new owner of the restaurant is. As long as the restaurant is in this city, he would have to pay protection money to the Turners,” he spat.

“Believe me, you would care if you know who it is,” August chuckled slightly.

Damien’s face loosened a bit, “okay fine. Which fool owns this restaurant?” he asked ignorantly.

“The Gibsons. The Gibson’s bought this restaurant from the Bensons and it now belongs to them,” August disclosed.

The news sent shivers down Damien’s spine. His heart almost divided into two and he quickly let loose of his grip on Ava’s hair. “The—the Gibson’s?” He startled in disbelief
