Humiliation

Damien's frown deepened; of all the chores, washing dishes was the most demeaning, and August had assigned him just that. “No way!” Damien protested, his voice thick with disdain. “I refuse to take orders from this lowlife. It’s ridiculous!”

“I’m sorry, but you’ll have to do as he said,” Ava interjected calmly.

Damien and his men’s faces became pale, this has to be the worst day of their lives as henchmen! Who would believe that the almighty Damien and his men would one day be compared to fi chores in a restaurant they had been collecting protection money from?

“Please leave your weapons here,” August said with a mocking tone. “It’s unsanitary to bring all these bats and metal pipes—used for violence—into the kitchen and dining area.”

Damien and his men scowled. The chores were grueling, but following August’s taunts was even more infuriating. Their only solace was their already made up minds to kill him later.
