“Tell me, Tina,” Mia continued, her words even more accusing. "Does our friendship, the one we’ve had since childhood, mean nothing to you? How could you betray me like this?"

"Mia?!" Tina’s face twisted with confusion, her chest tightening as she struggled to make sense of her friend’s words.

"It’s only been four months, Tina. Four months!" Mia hissed, holding up four fingers as she stepped closer, her voice barely a whisper. "And already, you’re flirting with my husband. Don’t you have any shame?"

Tina’s jaw dropped with the weight of the accusation hanging in the air. She opened her mouth to speak but the words were stuck in her throat.

August frowned, he was already angered enough that Mia walked in to disrupt this special moment. Accusing Tina even made him angrier. Husband? What was Mia even talking about?

"Is it really so hard for you to find your own man? Why must you meddle in my marriage?" Mia’s voice rang with bitterness, each word laced with disappointment.
