Chapter 242

Mr Hockings wasn't happy with what his daughter said. That wasn't what he was expecting to hear from her.

“At least, she's working towards the plan. We should be happy?” Mrs Hockings said, trying to lessen the tension that was about to form.

“There's nothing to be happy about. We need to be fast as soon as possible,” Mr Hockings grumbled, standing up and going to his room.

“It seems you've begun to learn how to handle him. Dad can be a pain if he chooses to,” Sheila said, smiling at her mother.

“Well, nothing a little practice can't handle,” Mrs Hockings as they both laughed. “I cooked. Would you like to eat some?” Mrs Hockings asked with the hope that her daughter would eat.

“I'm sorry mother. I can't. Maybe next time,” Sheila said, carrying her bag.

“Oh! It's fine. Next time is okay,” Mrs Hockings said, feeling sad as Sheila paused.
