“I need my phone. The one you seized,” Sheila said as Abraham looked at her.“Well, I thought you'd forgotten about it. I was already starting to wonder if you were using another one since you weren't so bothered about it,” Abraham said, squinting his eyes at her to get any reaction from her. He wanted to know if she was keeping something from her. Sheila scoffed, rolling her eyes.“How would I get a new one when I'm being caged? I was trying to pretend that I didn't care to see if you'll voluntarily give me my phone but it looks like you won. Can I have it back? I can't even catch up with the latest gossip and news because my phone is locked away. I need to know what is happening,”Sheila said.“I'll think about it,” Abraham said, putting his both hands inside his pocket, while Sheila scoffed, not believing what he just told her. It's not like she needed the phone. She just tried to kill any suspicion he was having. Nothing can come her way not even the smallest mistakes. So she has t
“Well, after the interview I did with Kiki, I haven't been at peace. My properties had been vandalized. My front gate was painted in red with a sign, “watch out” and just yesterday, when I wasn't around, my house was robbed and they dealt with my girlfriend. I was so sad and angry but at the same time, I was relieved that I wasn't at home. Only God knows what would have happened to me,” Abraham said.“And why didn't you report this to the police?” Another reporter asked as Abraham smiled.“I did report it to the police but I pleaded for them to do it quietly. I didn't want all this to get out. Maybe I shouldn't have handled it like this but I thought if I had kept mute about this, then maybe they would have left us alone. I guess you can call me foolish,” Abraham said, bowing his head in shame.“What a drama king. Seems fooling people is his specialty. Just look at how innocent and sincere he is,” Sheila thought, not surprised how Abraham could display such a talent with ease.“I don'
Keith couldn't believe he lost to Abraham again. That man is so good at what he does that Keith felt the need to applaud him. “What are you thinking about? Camila asked, joining him in his sturdy room.“I'm thinking about how Abraham Corner has defeated me yet again. How is this man so good at what he does?” Keith asked.“Don't tell me you're admiring him. He's this good because it's all about ruining someone's life. Only God knows how many lives he has ruined,” Camila said, hissing as she sat down. “I was also wondering how Abraham got a hold of your project work. It has to be an outside job. We have a mole working for him, stationed in your office,” Camila said as Keith reasoned what Camila said.“Yeah, that's true. There's a mole amongst us,” Keith said, bringing out his phone as he dialed a number. “Smart, I need the CCTV for my company. I need it now. I'll explain everything later but it should be fast before it would be deleted,” Keith said, ending the call.“Who do you suspect
“Do I hear a distress call? Seems like trouble in paradise,” Sheila added, entering inside. Keith and Camila turned to see Chris standing by the door. He also looked at them. Somewhat looking startled.“I… I tried to st… stop her but she just barged in,” Chris stuttered, looking perplexed.“It's okay. We can take it from here,” Camila said, giving Chris an apologetic smile. She could see that he was baffled. A lot of emotions were going through his mind and they were visible. Surprised, confused, disbelief and hurt were Chris's emotions but there was no sign of anger or guilt which made Camila relieved because she knew that he was innocent in all this.“Nothing is okay Chris. You're a suspect and you can as well be the mole. They will probably arrest you and strip you of everything you've got and you'll lead a miserable life. If I were you, I would not be surprised if the police come knocking. I would advise you to just be prepared,” Sheila said, getting Keith pissed.“Shut the hell u
Sheila Hockings was really something else. Only if his elder brother saw her now, then he would have loved her. He had always wanted a woman who wasn't scared of his mother and Sheila fits that criteria perfectly,” Smart said, lost in thought as he sighed.“You okay?” Camila asked him as he nodded.“Hey, I heard he was your younger son. What about the eldest son?” Sheila asked, noticing the quick reaction Mrs Genevieve did before masking it. “Oh, touchy subject. I get it. He must have probably left you. I mean, that's what I would have done naturally if I was your child,” Sheila said as Mrs Genevieve glared at her hard. “What? Have you seen yourself? You're a pest. You're the kind of mother who wants everyone to adhere to your choices and do everything you want. Who knows, the only reason Smart stayed was because he pitied you nothing else. You better work on yourself,” Sheila said.“Look who's talking? How about you work on yourself before talking to me,” Mrs Genevieve said. She was
“That's really a fresh start. Congrats on winning the bet. But what bet did you actually win?” Smart asked.“Don't tell me you played a bet on me to lose?” Keith asked, placing his hands on his waist.“That's right. You weren't expecting me to bet on you as the winner and lose all that money, no?” Sheila asked as Keith frowned.“Yikes,” Smart exclaimed as Camila glared at him.“I was expecting you to at least have some faith in me since we're partners who are going after the same thing,” Keith said.“Well, tough luck partner but you lost. I go where the money goes. Why don't you try that faith next time when you're ready to see me as a partner but for now, adios amigos,” she did that salute thing and left.“This girl is impossible. I can't really put up with her. She irks me so much,” Mrs Genevieve said, feeling irritated.“I second that opinion there. I really hate everything about her,” Camila said, agreeing with Mrs Genevieve while Smart chuckled.“What's funny?” Mrs Genevieve aske
“Found her,” Sheila rejoiced, giving the file to Keith.“Lily Donovan,” Keith called, flipping through the file before shutting it and looking at Smart. “Pull up every CCTV camera taken with Lily Donovan in the office,” Keith ordered.“On it,” Smart said, cracking his fingers before getting to work. “Got it,” Smart said, impressing Sheila.“So fast? That's impressive. I like you Smart. How about marrying me so that I can be your mother's favorite daughter-in-law,” Sheila as she and Smart looked at Mrs Genevieve.“I'll have to stop you there. Don't ever dream of being my daughter-in-law. It will never happen. Not in this life and over my dead body,” Mrs Genevieve snapped as Sheila chuckled.“Tsk, tsk, tsk. So much hate. Be careful what you wish for Genevieve or you might actually die,” Sheila said, picking her bag. “See you guys when I see you,” and then she left.“The nerves of this girl,” Mrs Genevieve exclaimed as Camila chuckled.“Take it easy,” Camila said, patting her back.“Don'
Sheila stopped by her parents' place. She knew her parents would be worried. She stopped at the gate as she sighed, looking at the house. She sighed again before going inside. She entered the house and found everything quiet. She wondered where they all went. Normally, her father is either planted in his favorite sit watching the news or reading the newspaper while her mother is always everywhere and trying to get her father's attention. This was the first time the house was so quiet while everyone was home. It was usually noisy. She walked up the stairs trying to get to her father's sturdy room to check if her father was there when she heard music and laughter coming from the kitchen. She paused, confused at what they were before coming down the stairs to go check it out. She entered the kitchen, standing by the door. What she saw got her surprised and amused. Her parents were both cooking and dancing to the music playing in the background while her father whispered sweet nothings in
