Chapter Sixty Six

“Care to explain why Thompson is leaving with his head up high and not buried down in shame?”

Sheila stiffened at the sound of her father's voice as he barged into the room, she couldn't decide if it was the sound of the door slam or the harshness in her father's voice that frightened her, but she quickly concluded it was both of them.

“Dad, please lower your voice. The guests are still here. And not to mention my head is aching too,” Sheila grumbled the latter part of the sentence making sure not to meet her father's gaze because she knew he would be glaring at her.

Mr. Hockings did not pay any slight attention to his daughter and stepped into the office, slamming the door shut.

Frank frowned, surprised to not find Sheila's mum with Mr. Hockings, they are usually always together. “Where is Mrs. Hocking?”

Mr. Hockings snorted, “How am I supposed to know but I suppose she is trying to make herself useful, I hope.”
