Ulric's Point Of View
"Ya! Ya! It's timeeeee!" The usual alarm my mom refused to change came screaming into my ear. I haven't still gotten used to it after four years!
"Ugh!" I groaned as I got out of bed and shut the brat up. "Not your fault!"
"Ulric!" Someone yelled before barging into my room.
"Haven't you learnt to knock yet?" I asked without turning to the intruder or intruders.
"Good morning!"
"Good morning!" In a singy tone.
"Ya! Same to yous, now get out of my room," I said finally turning to them.
"Yous? There is nothing like yous!" Ulrika said, as expected.
"He meant you with a s which is supposed to stand for the plural form of you," Ultan explained.
"Ohh!"
"Don't make me explain again, you heard me right?" He said to her.
"Yes, sir!" She yelled, saluting to him.
"Whatever! Leave my room, now!" I yelled pushing them by the heads out of my room before slamming the door to their faces.
They kept knock as I walked into the bathroom to have a quick shower after which I threw myself into my usual, a baggy pants and baggy sweatshirt.
"Go away!" I yelled went someone started knocking at my door.
"Breakfast in two minutes," I heard.
"Shit!" I mouthed as I grabbed my bag and phone and ran to the dining room. Everyone was seated except me, I took my seat gently, throwing my bag on the floor.
"Why did you not put your hair into your usual ponytail today?" Ulrika asked, she was the one to always break rules everywhere especially at the table.
"None of your business! Mind your plate," I said to her.
"Manners!" Mom echoed while dad gave me a side of his eye. I eyed Ulrika but that definitely won't shut her up. I saw Ultan whispering something into her ears.
"Don't you know braids doesn't look good on you? It's not you," She questioned, I looked at Ultan and I could spot him smirking.
"Wow! I never knew," I said sarcastically.
"Why can't you just dress like Andrew or Jake for ones?" She questioned again.
I only looked at her when what I actually wanted to say was, 'you little uncultured brat, will you shut the freak up! Your stinking oozing mouth is iriking the hell out of me' but I couldn't. So I intensified my look on her.
"Ulric?" Mom called.
"Yes!" I answered her and look on her face says she knew what I was doing.
"Be nice!" She only said to me.
"Yes, ma!" I answered her before giving Ulrika my last look before diving deep into my food.
"I'm on my way out, thanks for the meal mom and dad!" Ultima announced as she cleared her plate and left the table.
"Have a nice day!" Mom and Dad chorused.
"And you too," she yelled before shutting the entrance door.
"I'm out too," I said standing up immediately.
"Make sure you clear your plate," mom called out behind me.
"Have a great day, Son!" Dad said, eating like he has all the time in the world.
"Yes, sur! And you too, paps!" I said to him.
"Bye, Ulric!" The two musketeers on the table screamed and I slammed the door in response to them.
I cycled to Andrew place and the idiot was making out with some random girl at the back of his truck.
"What the hell?" I complained.
"Hey, boy! What sup?" He said releasing himself from the girl who was reluctant to leave him. He whispered something into her ears and she walked out of our midst in the most sluggish annoying way I have ever seen.
"What the hell?" I asked again.
"That was two in two minutes! Having a cranky day already?" He asked as he jumped out and moved to the front behind the steering. I joined him at the side as he put the truck into motion.
"Don't give me shitty looks and just focus on the road!" I demanded.
"Who gave you the idea of braiding your hair? Who told you it would work on you?" He asked smiling with his teeth.
"What?" I questioned.
"You look like shit, dude!" He said laughing hard! "A nice shit, though!" He added.
"What the hell?" I asked again.
"That the third in less than thirty minutes! You really are having a cranky day, let say morning. Who knows your crush might brighten up your day!" He commented before driving into Jake's driveway. The brat was standing like someone who is fed up with life.
"Do you want to give up on life?" Andrew and I yelled at him with our head out the window.
"What… the… fun is this?" He said before laughing like a maniac.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked Andrew and the idiot just rise and drop his shoulder. Jake ran and entered the truck.
"You just made my day, I was thinking of giving up but then you were sent to remind me that life has more fun to it than what I see everyday and even everyday life can be fun when there are things to make fun out of," he said immediately he entered the truck.
"To whom does this concern?" I asked, concerned on the unusual speech he used to start his day.
"You of course, thank pal!" He said laughing.
"Don't tell me!" Andrew said laughing.
"Isn't it beautiful?" Jake asked still laughing, looking from Andrew to me and forth.
"Oh jeez! You f^çkers!" I yelled at them as they continued laughing. I started loosing my braids, they were loosely done maybe that's why it wasn't looking good or they just don't fit. I used my fingers to lightly brush through it then pack it up into a half ponytail.
"Awwn! Why did you do that to me? Do you want me to give up?" He asked me as I gave him a stern look.
"Everything looks better on you," Andrew commented and I just side looked at him.
"Focus on the road, dipshit and stop uttering trash!" I said to him.
"But on a more serious note, you looked good in it, the braids and anything you try on," he said seriously. But this guy is unbelievable.
"I know you don't believe me but it true," he added.
"Okay! Thank you sir," I said to him. He parked in his favourite spot, just under the biggest tree. Jack seems to have slipped into himself again.
"Guy! Can you please stop? Go for help you won't listen," I said to him as I called his attention to our environment. We got down, surveyed our surroundings before proceeding into the school.
"Your sister looks hot, today!" Andrew whispered, licking the tip of his upper teeth.
"What the hell?" I said to him as I spanked him behind his neck.
"Jeez, bro! Calm down," he called out to me rubbing his neck.
"Never look at her again," I warned him.
"Oh, sir! I won't," he said feigning a whimper. Bastard!
"I thought you warned him," Jack said pointing at the school entrance.
Ultima was talking to a group of girls and that brat was leaning against the wall waiting for her, she left the group with Amelia and walked into the school with Amelia and Owen by her sides, that little vulture! How many times do I have to warn him to get off her back? Jeez!
"I see she has her little boyfriend with her," Andrew commented.
"Quiet please, that rat is a piece of jerk! He won't back off I see, well, we shall see," I said before stomping off to my locker with Andrew and Jack loosely behind me.
"And who do we have here?" I heard Andrew say.
"The most beautiful girls in Sanford Private School, the Scott Twins," Jake added, laughing.
I turned to their direction, there was Mia Scott and Amy Scott walking into the hallway. While Amy is catwalking in her beautiful heel, her identical twins is just swaggaliously bouncing in her boot. One look, two different personalities.
Immediately they passed beside me, my stupid friends could not stop smiling like goats. "What is it?" I asked.
"Aren't they beautiful?" Jack asked.
"They are, I never disagreed on that," I said. "You seems to have cheered up since they walked into the room, oh boy!" I said, slamming my locker's door.
"Oh please! They have nothing to do with how my mood works," he said, denying any connections between the two.
"You sure? You sure about that?" I asked him. The siren bell came out loud, signaling that classes were about to take place.
"What the hell?"
"Not again, please!" Andrew cried.
"Let him be, he will get over it soon," Jack interjected.
"What's wrong with everyone and unnecessarily loud alarm?" I asked nobody in general.
"Ohh, so that where the problem is from? Alarms!" Andrew said.
"Well, it's needed more in school," Jack added.
"To which class?" Andrew asked.
"You seriously need to see a doctor, your memory storage needs to be checked on. Do we have to do this every time?" I asked him.
"It's a simple question that requires a simple answer not your opinion on my life," he answered me.
"Literature English," I answered.
"My regards to Aristotle and Plato!" He said before breezing away to his class.
I walked into my class which was already filled, unsurprisingly. The teach gave me a stern weird look before letting me sit down.
"Milicent! Can you tell me about the Elizabethan era?" She asked the girl seated before me. She adjucted her glasses before standing up.
"Yes, teach! The Elizabethan era started back in the…" I zoomed out of whatever she was talking about, poor girl and started counting all the little things that doesn't matter in the classroom.
"Ulric… Ulric…" the voice came fainting from afar. "Ulric!" Suddenly someone yanked my table, it was the teach.
"Yes, teach!" I answered her, she was glaring at me. Who knew the teach was a person of violence?
"Tell me, everything Milicent spoke about," she questioned still glaring at me. This is weird.
"Hmm…"
"Stand up!" She yelled, startling me and maybe some students. I stood up reluctantly.
"Hmm, she talked about the Elizabethan era which she said started back in the…" I said confidently.
"In the what? What are you saying?" She asked and I only stood looking at her back and when she saw I was the own who would make her miss her remaining teaching period. The siren bell rang again to signal a change in class. I was the first person to get to my Historical Fact class, I don't know who coined this name up for the subject but it was relating in a way.
Andrew and Jake came in after a while, followed by the Scott Twins and even that Milicent from Literature English was here, it seem she transfer after hearing how interesting and fun the class was.
The teach breezed in even when she was obviously late for her class. "Good morning everyone!" She greeted.
"Good morning to you too," we all chorused.
"I can see new faces in class today but that won't stop us from our lesson for the day. Today we will be talking about an ancient escape room that was made into a cave. Have you all heard of the Osonun Hiding cave?" She asked the class and everyone was quiet.
"The name was later change into Otilost Escape Room and the escape room isn't your regular escape room at a mall or wherever you find one. It was called the Escape Room because it let people escape from their problems and trouble," she explained.
"That doesn't look like fun," Mia said aloud.
"We will be going on a field trip to the cave to study some facts!" Teach announced.
"Really? Teach!" Brian asked.
"Yes, this is a broad of paper that you can use to show your interest in the trip. If you are interested, write down your name and if not, ignore," the teach instructed.
After much consideration, I finally agreed to go with my friends.
Ulric's Point Of View"I'm skeptical about this said field trip and your dad," my mom said with worry all over her face."It's fine, Mom! It's going to be fine!" I reassured my mom, patting her lightly on the shoulder."We are going to miss you, Ulric!" Ulrika and Ultan said simultaneously from the back where they were sitting."Awwn! I will miss you guys too and your unnecessary troubles but I surely will be back by tomorrow evening, latest. So don't miss me too much," I said to them before ruffling their hair. "Then who will play video games with us? We have nobody to do that with us," Ultan asked. "Oh, you can always ask Ultima to help you," I said to them."I have to go now," I announced. I could see people filing in one after the other with their camping bags. "Be safe baby boy and always remember we love you," Mum said looking concerned. What's wrong? I'm worried because my mom's gut feelings are becoming more serious."Of course I know this and what's with all this talk like
Ulric's point of view 'DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING!' Kept echoing in the cave as we all stood in pitch darkness. Someone was screaming from afar. What just happened? "So guys, I will love to commend you guys for a job well done, you all took the storm by the head and I am quite surprised by some, like Andrew. Who would have thought that Andrew the great Andrew will help? That's surprising but all the same thanks for being a help in needful time," Teach Carolina said. We were standing in front of the said cave, by the front of the door where its stones appear different from the rest of the body. I was just taken away by the pattern of the stones on the wall of the cave, it looked like it was drawn or carved by someone or some people. "Hey!" Andrew called out to me, hitting me by the side. "What?" I snapped, he just pulled me from my world. "Are you even listening?" Jack asked me as I stared at a particular pattern on the wall. It was so mesmerizing, the pattern was all linked to one an
Ulric's point of view One thing I know for a fact is, it will be hard surviving this place because why the hell will she just die? She was fine when we came, totally fine! But now, she isn't moving anymore nor breathing. Her friends aren’t helping matters, we have been trying to revive her for the past ten minutes, no response, no pulse, no heart movement. "She is dead!" Elian announced for the umpteenth time today. He isn’t helping matters either. "We get man! We get it, so please just shut up," Jack shouted at him from where he was sitting criss crossed, beside me. It sounded far off. Weird! For some reasons best unknown to me, I wasn’t just motivated to move from where I was and do anything, even to preserve my image. "Come on man, don't say that," I warned, using the noisy background to my favour. "Don't, please!" He came off harshly. "Hartley! Please!" There was a loud piercing cry. This definitely broke the Ey girls' heart, I haven't seen them this distraught since I knew
Ulric’s Point Of View "What time?" "Time to wait and see!" She announced. "See what?" Her sister asked her. "Why are you interrogating me? You just wait and see," she said. "Day one? Are we going to be here for long?" Lucy asked. Mia's words had finally caught her attention and made her voice out. "We don't know, baby girl but there is a possibility seeing that the door hasn't been opened by now. How long have we been locked in here?" She asked, suddenly sitting up and looking at everyone in an expectant manner. "Probably two hours?" Chris interjected. "Two hours?" Some of them chorused. "I think it took more than two hours," Mia said, lying back on the ground. She definitely is shameless to lie on the bare ground. "Why did you say that?" Saya asked. "When the door shut initially, there was a space out. I felt I zoom out but realisation came and everyone sort for light and the rest," she explained. She also felt what I felt. "Then we don't have to be here!" Maya announced.
Ulric’s Point Of View “Hell no!” "Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!" Charlotte cried. Everybody was saying one or two things as they realised that we were fucked up. There was no returning door, we couldn't go back to where we were a while ago, it hadn't even been up to five minutes. We don't even know where we are anymore, this might look like we are standing in what someone might call the entrance to the woods but this isn't normal. This isn't supposed to be, how can the woods be in a cave? This defies all odds, scientifically, physically, and so on or maybe not mentally because our minds can be playing games with us now and we might not know. But I'm not surprised because this cave has been full of shitty wonders since I stepped or rather set my eyes in this cave, from the first day this trip was announced. "Why did you drag me here? Why did you pull me with you? Just why?" I heard someone cry bitterly, hitting someone on the chest. Oh! It was the Justal couple, Justin and C
Unknown Point Of View"What day is it?" He asked, using a stick to beat a rock lightly out of frustration. But he isn't as frustrated as I am."Day hundred?" Milicent replied with a doubt."No! It isn't!" A voice said from the crowd."Then what day is it?" I asked yelling. My voice, carrying the anger I was hiding from my face."I think two hundred!" The voice exclaimed and all heads turned to her direction."You say what?" Charlotte asked, surprised."What has day got to do with our situation? It won't solve anything and instead will keep on increasing if we don't act fast. Who knows what before us now!" Eunice exclaimed. That got everybody and she was right, we don't know what we will face when we take the next few steps. "Let us all stay prepared and alert, something might appear from anywhere, you know that right?" The timid girl said, now she has something to talk to the group about. It isn't her fault."As always!" The big guy in our midst yelled from the back."This is a daily
Ulric's Point Of View"Oh my God!" "Where is he?""Andrew!" We were all calling out to him."What happened? He was here one minute and he wasn't the next minute," I asked Joyce, she seems terrified. Visible shaking!"I don't know," she replied before she started crying."I was just talking to him when he lost it and started walking away when he stop suddenly and started looking to his left and right, gripping hard to his sword then he tripped and fall then boom, he was swept off," she explained still crying while my eyes survey our environment for the creature I saw earlier."I should have paid more attention to what he was looking at than at him or instead quickly try to help him when he fell," she complained."You did your best, Joyce! You can't blame yourself or anybody for anybody's death here," I consoled her but it wasn't working."It's fine! It's going to be fine! It will," I said reassuring her but more to myself."Guys!" Saya screamed, startling all of us but I knew where it
Ulric's Point Of View"Maya!""Clark?""Maya Clark?""Maya Clark!""Mas!!!" Kunl yelled, surpassing our voices."We could have just pass the bush instead of here, we don't know what we might face here! What if those shadow creatures reside here? You see how one of them stood before the stream the other time," Milicent emphasized."Then you shouldn't have come in anyway," Mia yelled but she was facing the other direction. What is she playing?"Are you talking to me?" Milicent called out to her, getting upset."Miss, can you just shut your trap and focus on the damned mission?" Mia questioned still looking at the other side."You are obviously not talking to me," Milicent said."Who is the rat making noise?" Mia questioned before turning to look at her."What?" Asked Millicent. These two shouldn't have been chosen in anywhere, Mia should have been left behind but everyone was visible trying to avoid being called out by Saya. If Milicent had stayed back, obviously Amy will chop her head
