AFTER THEIR conversation, Damian went back to his cubicle. He told his team that they would have their first meeting after doing the first step he needed to take.

It was to communicate with Julian, the manufacturing department’s manager.

‘The summary Poppy gave me earlier helped me a lot to know all the things I need to do,’ said Damian at the back of his mind. ‘But some things are easier said than done.’

Despite his nervousness, Damian set up an appointment with Julian within the day, to which the latter responded yes.

After that, he didn’t waste any time as he went to the manufacturing department, specifically in Julian’s office.

“Good afternoon,” Damian greeted in a cold yet polite tone. “I am Damian Smith, the Internal Communications Manager. Nice to meet you.”

Damian extended his arm toward Julian, but the latter just remained seated, staring at Damian’s hand.

After a few seconds, Damian placed his hands back in his pocket, knowing that Julian didn’t like his presence.

DAMIAN WAS usually calm and composed. No matter how much he was being mocked and ridiculed by the people around him, he never faltered. But now, it is different.“Fucking bastard,” Damian muttered as he forcefully sat in his cubicle, placing his cheeks onto his palms. “That person shouldn’t be a manager in the first place. He is a bastard for giving a shitty suggestion like that.”When he was a teenager, Damian had worked in different industries just to sustain their expenses. It was the hardest thing he experienced, and he didn’t want other people to face the same fate.“Is there any problem, Sir Damian?” asked Lily in a worried tone, seeing how frustrated Damian was. “Did something happen in your appointment with Sir Julian?”“Nothing.” Damian shook his head.“That is a lie, isn’t it?” Lily sighed, her gaze fixated on Damian. “It isn’t hidden to everyone here how vicious Sir Julian is, especially when it comes to work that involves the manufacturing department. It will be better if

“I WILL be the one to help you.”Everyone looked at Damian with shock registered in their expressions upon hearing Damian’s answer. Even Mia let go of the ballpen she was holding as it fell on the floor.“What’s with the shocked reaction?” Damian asked, his brows furrowing.“Sir, the town meetings are usually done by coordinators like Gabriel for a reason. It was because once the employees know that a manager will be at the town meeting, everything will be in ruckus,” Lily informed him. “It could be dangerous for you, Sir.”“Hmm…Then it means that I should attend.”“Sir?” Lily asked in disbelief, blinking her eyes twice.“If the employees can only express their feelings and concerns if a manager will attend, then it means that I should be there,” Damian explained to them. “Aside from communicating the changes and the positive impact on them, I also wanted to know their feedback and concerns. It will help us in making this project successful.”No one understood Damian’s decision at tha

HOLDING a raw egg in their hands, which they took from the basket, Abigail and the other employees threw the eggs in Damian's direction simultaneously, which shocked Damian.“You are acting like you know our pain even if you don’t! What a worthless manager you are!” one of them shouted as she threw a raw egg on Damian’s face. “Get lost!”The eggshell broke in Damian’s forehead, causing it to scatter on his face, down to his neck. Damian looked like a mess, yet he couldn’t find anywhere to run. He was surrounded by the employees, ensuring that he wouldn’t be able to escape.“Shit! Stop it!” exclaimed Gabriel in a frustrated tone as he went to Abigail, who was now in the corner after throwing an egg, being a spectator. “What are you doing, Abigail?!”Her brows furrowed. “Why? You told me that I can do and ask anything once the presentation ends!” “But I didn’t mean that you can disrespect our manager like this!” Gabriel retorted, his voice laced with frustration.“Disrespect?” Abigail

“IT MUST have been hard for all of you,” Damian said, his tone and expression laced with worry as he stared at Abigail. “Are you okay now? Are you done releasing all the frustration and anger you had inside your heart?”“What?” Abigail asked, frowning, but fear was evident in her eyes. “Are you—are you mocking us?” she added, her voice shaking a bit. However, Damian shook his head. “I’m not. I’m asking you this because it seems like you have held all these negative emotions inside you for a long time.”Abigail went silent as she avoided Damian’s gaze. He was right. Violence is the only thing they could do for the injustice the manufacturing department had toward them, being laid off even without a warning.“I’m not saying this to make you feel pitiful, but I understand what you are going through…” Damian said, holding both of Abigail’s hands. It was rough and full of scars. “We may not know what steps to take right now, nor we don’t know how to make Julian retract his decision…But we

OUTSIDE THE town hall, Damian saw a commotion wherein Abigail and her colleagues were blocked by tons of security guards. The security guards looked intimidating and dangerous, causing Abigail’s people to be afraid. However, Abigail remained standing in front of them, protecting her colleagues.“All of you must come with us,” Clark, the team leader, said in a baritone. “If you will come with us with initiative, then I can promise that no one will be harmed.”“I will come with you without any complaints. Why not?” Abigail said, raising an eyebrow. “But don’t involve anyone with this. I’m the leader of this group in the manufacturing department. Whatever they did wrong will be my responsibility.”“Hah. Should I give you a medal for your sense of responsibility?” Clark asked sarcastically, looking at Abigail with contempt. “Whatever you say, it is not what Sir Julian instructed us.”“Julian?” Damian, who was already in their middle, included himself in the conversation. “What’s happening

“A-Allysa?” Abigail mouthed as she almost couldn’t hear her own voice. Allysa is the female employee who accompanied Gabriel to the infirmary earlier. She usually had an innocent face, given that she was the youngest in the group. But now, her expression was different. Anger was evident in her eyes, and her aura screamed viciousness.“What are they talking about, Allysa? You reported us for what?”“For laziness and for showing violence so you can get whatever you want,” answered Allysa in a cold tone, her gaze unwavering. “I’m also the one who reported the plan you had in this town hall meeting. You planned to throw eggs at Damian so all of you can show how violent and rebellious you are.”Abigail blinked twice, looking at Abigail in disbelief. “You know why I’m doing this. I’m here to protect all of you from the injustice Julian was giving us. Sure, it may not be the right way, but I thought that all people, you will be the one to understand—”“Understand?” Allysa asked sarcasticall

DAMIAN HAD so many questions in mind, but he didn’t know the answers to it, not even one. Feeling hopeless, he gave back the phone to Lily and returned to his seat.As he did that, his four members were just looking at him, imitating the same feeling Damian had.“Given that this happened, I’m doubtful that we can still talk to Abigail and her group about this system implementation. They were likely to face sanctions and be fired from the company, but I will ask someone to look at it later,” Damian told them.Everyone sighed in disbelief and disappointment upon hearing those words. They couldn’t believe that their hard work had gone down the drain like this.Damian went silent for a while as he pondered. Minutes later, his gaze went to Alex. “How was your collaboration with the human resources department?”“It is going smoothly, Sir,” answered Alex in a confident tone. “I already created a rough plan about the training lessons, and the human resources department approved it as we share

MEANWHILE, after the town hall meeting, Allysa went to Julian’s office to report what happened, but before that, she needed to do something else with him.“Ah…” Allysa groaned as Julian groped one of her breasts while licking her neck. The other hand was caressing her butt, and it felt so heavenly while her back was leaning to the wall. “You are so good at this, Julian. I want more…”“Then tell me what happened earlier, hmm?” Julian muttered as he licked her ear and lightly bit her earlobe. “I already heard from Clark that you succeeded in doing the plan, but I wanted to know about Damian’s reaction.”“He is…caught off-guard—Ah!” Allysa moaned loudly when Julian’s hand went inside her skirt, traveling onto her core and playing with her c.lit. “They will hear you outside if you continue moaning like that. THE lights were flickering, adding tension in the air, as Damian entered the warehouse alone. He doesn’t have any guns or other weapons with him, nor he didn’t call anyone like Carter instructed.Damian was on high alert as he continued walking when suddenly, two men wearing full black clothes started to approach him with their guns.‘Fuck,’ cursed Damian at the back of his mind, seeing how helpless he was right now.Especially after seeing Ava tied to the chair, his mouth gagged, while Catela is sleeping in the crib beside her.Despite the situation, he couldn’t give up. Damian needed to save himself along with Ava and Catela and end this fight with Carter so it wouldn’t repeat. The two men tied Damian’s hands and feet to the chair, but unlike Ava, they didn’t gag him.“It is so unusual to see how obedient you are. I never thought you could do it,” Carter, who appeared from the shadows, smirked upon seeing Damian being helpless. “That’s right. They will always be safe as long as you

“That was not enough for all the bullshit you did to me before. But for now, let’s call it even," Damian said.Carson only shook his head as he wiped the blood on his lips before leaving the house. And the only thing that was running through his mind was how strong Damian’s punch was… before until now.THE NEXT morning, Carson didn’t just confess what he did to the board members, but he conducted a press conference to publicly apologize to Damian. He knew that Damian deserved to clear his name and regain his reputation, and although his public apology wasn’t enough, he still did it to show his sincerity.“Starting today, Carson Ferremento is now terminated as the CEO, and will face two years of suspension because of him ruining the Ferremento Corporation’s reputation,” Piper announced, her tone colder than usual. “The position will go back to Damian Giovanni Ferremento.”Carson smiled sadly, but he knew he needed to accept the consequences of his actions. However, since Damian had a

“That bastard. He told you that even though you have a husband?” Carson asked, his teeth gritting.“Well, this is just an arranged marriage, and he knows it.” Ava shrugged. “To be honest, I would marry a man like him although he isn’t the richest, than stay with a puppet like you, who only knows how to follow someone else—”“Here,” Carson interjected, giving Ava the signed papers. “I will let you take Catela because I need to deal with something, but I will take her away from you once I'm done.”“Hah. As if I will let you do that.” Ava scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Thank you for this, Carson. Catela will benefit so much from this.”And as if Ava was waiting for this to happen, when she went again to their bedroom to take Catela, she already had her luggage with her and was talking to someone.“Yes, he already signed the divorce paper, and I’m all set…” Ava said, smiling from ear to ear. “Oh, your bodyguard is outside the house already? After Carter went out of the house unnoticed, that was the only time Carson could breathe properly. He didn’t even realize he was suppressing his breath because of fear.‘Is that really the brother I used to be with ever since I was a child?’ Carson thought, his heart racing, as he leaned into a tree. ‘We are family. Why would he threaten me like that? Is the company and the organization more important to him than me?’And upon asking himself that question, Carson got his answer. Carter wouldn’t mind killing everyone who would be a hindrance to his plans, and he is not an exemption. His gaze went to the house—Something he had because of Carter. Everything he had was him, not giving Carson any chance to carve out his own identity. He was only known for his surname, and for all his careless actions when he was in teenager days. The only thing he had that wasn’t connected with Carter was Dollie, whom he took for granted, and now his family; Ava, his wife, and Catela, their child.“Ava,”

What do you need this time?”“I have to ask you for a favor,” Veron replied.“A favor?” Charlie raised an eyebrow. “If it is about our operations, I’m sorry, but I need to decline. You know that we can’t take clients in other countries other than Colossia, right?”“I know that. You are not taking me as a dumb person, aren’t you?” Veron shot back, his voice laced with irritation now. “I need someone I trust to do this task for me, and I’m willing to pay any amount you want for it.”“Any amount, huh? Talking to rich people is different.” Charlie chuckled on the other line, yet he became serious afterward. “But alright, deal. Are you surprised that a person who was once a happy-go-lucky like me would be chosen to replace you?”“Why would I be surprised if you planned everything for this to happen?” Damian shot back, the annoyance evident in his tone. “Seeing you in front of me now just strengthens my hunch. It was you who messed up with the data. How could you?”Carson’s smirk widened. He didn’t answer. Instead, he stood proudly in the middle with his arms folded.“I’m not here because of the shitty things you accuse me of, but because I have given the board of directors a proposal strategy that you can’t provide.” Carson slid the document in front of Damian. “Here. “Young master,” James, whom Damian called, answered on the other line. “Young master Carson is still doing his old routine; working in his office the whole day and going home afterward.”“How certain are you?” Damian asked.James’ brows furrowed, but he still answered in a polite tone, “I’m always monitoring him, young master. I didn’t even let him out of my sight.”“I know, but something might have happened that slipped your notice,” Damian said, his tone low and serious. “The Ferremento Corporation is in chaos right now, and I’m sure Carson is involved with it. I need you to think carefully.”James obliged. The tip of his brows pressed harder on each other upon recalling the surveillance, and his lips widened as he remembered something.“There was one incident. For a moment, I lost sight of young master Carson’s office,” confessed James. “But it was only for a few seconds.”“And that is the only amount of time t
