Upon hearing those words, Carter raised an eyebrow as he stopped slicing his steak. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“Before we can even buy shares, we are already beaten up to it. I heard that the existing shareholders bought additional shares at a discount,” Luther said, clicking his tongue as he looked at Carter again. “Didn’t you hear anything about it?”

“No, I didn’t.” Carter took his phone and looked at his email. “I wasn’t notified by it, either. Our plan could have been compromised.”

Luther looked away. “Yeah. I told Damian about your conversation with Penelope when I visited the Ferremento Corporation.”

“You did what?” In a flash, Carter was already in front of Luther, holding Luther’s collar tightly. “I told you before that Damian can’t know about our plan until we execute it, didn’t I?” he muttered, his voice deeply low so no one could hear it.
