Until A Few Weeks After

In the aftermath of Mr. Davies' funeral, Christopher and Laura found themselves grappling with a whole lot of emotions they had not expected. Grief lingered, but so did a sense of responsibility that Mr. Davies had entrusted them with. They were soon summoned to the reading of his will, an event that would unveil unexpected areas of their relationship with the man who had become an integral part of their lives.

As soon as news of his death made it out there, the news outlets were broadcasting news of his illness, so now there was no paper, or ststion they coikf change the channel to without seeing Mr. Davies, very near to death, plastered atop it.

The appointed day arrived, and Christopher and Laura, still dressed in the somber attire worn for the funeral, made their way to the law firm overseeing Mr. Davies' affairs. Lily, as always, blivious to the solemnity of the occasion, babbled happily in Laura's arms.
