She looked to the sky, blood splattered all over her body. A knife in her hand and a smile on her face. She had done an unspeakable act, regardless of whether or not it was to protect herself. A tear ran down her face as she began to comprehend the severity of her actions. She pointed the knife to her neck but before she could impale herself an arm grabbed hers. "Please. Just. Let me." The arm pulled hers down, and she could feel them wrap around her, hugging her in a way she had never been before.
"Your gonna be alright," Yelan said. Her eyes burst open and she immediately reached for her staff, she looked around her and once she confirmed she was the only breathing thing within the room she calmed her nerves down. "Where are the others?" Leia asked herself, pulling up her stat pad and sending a message to her party members. As to where she was? She had no idea. She got up, staff in hand using a simple fire spell linked with mana to make the orb at the top light up, creating an ample light source. She racked her mind for memories of what transpired but every attempt came up blank, she walked toward the only entrance she could see. The ruins were spooky and dusty, with almost every corner being covered by a mix of spider webs and some other creatures excrete. She pointed her staff to the wall, highlighting the ancient hieroglyphics on it.Pictures of a man with large gold wing decorations being revered by what seemed to be humans. She continued moving while still looking at the wall, unveiling more of the story. The man was killed in one frame and in another he rose from a tomb to a destroyed palace, the drawings were dirty and barely visible so she did all she could when piecing them together. But what could this mean? Was it just a coincidence or just a random fact about the Trojan ruins?"Hmm." She faced her staff frontward, moving lower into the ruins. The original story she had heard about the Trojan ruins involved a king who created the ruins as a gift to an opposing nation during the early times, he planted his men in corners of the ruins, and when the opposing nation's king and his men walked in they were killed and the war was won. Or at least that's what she heard, what she saw on the walls told a different story. In fact, although both stories were completely different something felt off.She returned to the wall she saw the large creature on, looking at the opposite walls and even below trying to see if there was anything she missed. "Could it be?" [Water magic: Tidal surge] She blasted water at the walls cleaning off the dust and grime from their surface. She heard footsteps approaching her but she didn't care, she looked at the walls trying to find the complete story. "It's not a random Keeper. It's the King of the opposing nation."Little screeches and footsteps of little green beasts rapidly approached Leia whose staff light exposed her location, she needed to warn her teammates, she needed to assist them. Keepers by folklore were mythical creatures that were birthed from the corpses of small animals and insects, they were basically the rare occurrence of an animal not successfully over to the next life, and when that happened a Keeper was born using the mana of the host. Hence the name Keeper, as it kept onto the previous beings' mana. However, this was probably the first time a Keeper had been created by a human and its strength might've been greater than what they could have been able to handle.Leia ran toward the previous room she was in as the goblins got too close for comfort, she wanted to warn her friends, she wanted to assist them. "I don't have time for this!" [Water magic: Tidal surge] Again she used the water spell which sent a ball of water at terrific speeds to the goblin's but somehow, someway, they were unfazed by it."Hahahaahahaaaahha." The goblins mocked her as they charged with their weapons and bows, behind them what seemed to be an elder goblin that towered over them in size. She was an iron-5 ranked adventurer although she could testify to only gaining the rank due to the fact she worked with a party, but even though she was weak, and her magic needed a lot more work. She wasn't going to die here, and neither were her friends. She swung her staff and planted it into the ground, her eyes lighting up as she prepared the incantation"I beseech the mighty water spirits, rulers of the raging tides and turbulent seas, heed my call and lend me your unfathomable power. Let your waters surge and swirl, uniting in a tempest of grand proportions! With the force of a thousand storms, obliterate my foes and level their resistance to naught! By the might of water's unyielding embrace, I summon thee – [Water magic: Great Maelstrom]" Above her staff were two large bodies of water rotating in different directions resembling a whirlpool, this was currently the strongest spell she knew. A spell so strong it required an incantation. The goblins froze in terror as the brilliant blue glow of energy expanded, engulfing the entire room. Realizing the incoming danger, they turned and hurriedly tried to retreat up the stairs they had come from. However, their fate had already been sealed the moment Leia cast the spell. In an instant, a colossal whirlpool of water surged through the chamber, akin to a devastating tornado tearing through an Arizona desert. The force was unimaginable, shattering every bone in the goblins' bodies and reducing them to nothing more than a grotesque, pulpy mass. The spell's power was beyond reckoning, obliterating not only the goblins but also erasing an entire level of the ancient ruins, leaving nothing but a swirling cloud of dust and debris in its wake.Surveying the aftermath of the devastating destruction, Leia couldn't help but regret her actions. "Maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all," she thought to herself, feeling the weight of her impulsive decision. The once magnificent chamber was now reduced to rubble, and the consequences of her powerful magic were laid bare before her.In spite of the devastation and her regret, Leia realised she had to move forward from her error. She needed to locate her teammates and provide assistance in any way she could, therefore that was her most urgent mission. She overcame her self-doubt out of determination and turned her attention to the task at hand. No matter what obstacles stood in her way, she had to be there for her friends. Leia took a deep breath, prepared herself, and started down the trail to find and help her friends in the dangerous depths of the ruins.Sven, who was well aware of the academy's unrelenting nature, yawned in exhaustion as he splashed water on his face. Its brutality had been starkly brought to light yesterday, but he was determined not to give in.He got ready for the day ahead by moving towards the balcony of the dorm building where all the students lived. He warmed up for his daily workout, which included pull-ups and dumbbell lifts, by stretching his muscles beforehand. His desire to gain muscle was evident.Sven in need of a boost, quickly drank a cup of coffee he had made the previous evening. He was prepared to take advantage of the opportunities it would present because today was sure to be just as interesting. "It's time to get going!" Before leaving the dorm, he told his dorm mates that he was ready to take on whatever the day had in store.Sven was caught off guard as he hurried out of his door and met with an unexpected force, falling backward. Holding his head for a minute, he looked up to see Liric Titanfa
The sound of destruction was enough to awaken Finn and Hiakam from their sleep amidst the rumbling ruins and shaking ground. As they opened their eyes to the mayhem after being dragged into a lower level of the tunnels, Finn couldn't help but question, "Where are we?" While Hiakam quickly collected his stat pad to record information, he rubbed his eyes, trying to make sense of their surroundings."Are you both alright? The Keeper got to me, and I'm not sure where I am in the catacombs. Be cautious of the Keeper; it seems to have control over the catacombs," Hiakam conveyed Leia's message to Finn, now gaining a better understanding of the creature's abilities. He quickly composed a reassuring reply to let Leia know they were safe."I'm not sure, but it's the Keeper's doing." Hiakam put away his stat pad before swiftly standing up, spear in hand."What now?" Finn got up, coughing as he dusted his clothes. "Do we regroup?" Finn found it hard to make a plan since he had no idea how the Kee
Namek Surtur wanted to be free. From the very moment he came into this world, he was given a severe choice from the moment he was born: take the throne as the ruler of the city his father oversaw, or meet a gloomy and cruel demise. While he dreaded the idea of passing away, he equally wished for a life free from the burden of obligation where he could pursue his own goals and desires. Even though he cared about the city's residents, he couldn't stand the thought of being confined to a desk and having to hear about everyone's troubles day in and day out. He wants his own life, not one that was predetermined by others. As a prince oppressed by the weight of his destiny, he found comfort in stories of journey and freedom. He found solace and joy in the tales of the man who traveled the globe and Ikarus, who flew across the endless skies. These stories served as beacons of joy, lighting his way with hopes that one day, he too could feel as liberated as they did."Namek!" The king's comman
Finn tightly gripped his daggers, propelling himself from the ground with a surge of anger. His thoughts were muddled, much like the previous encounter with Emma. His heart flared with an all-consuming rage that compelled him to act out his hatred. He focused on the Keeper and used [Boost] to increase his running speed, while it wasn't perfectly accurate, it served the objective.[Twin dagger Form 3: Inferno Descent] With his weapons igniting in a blaze of flames. Finn jumped above the Keeper, his focus was drawn to the wings that had killed Hiakam. As swift as a spinning tornado, Finn easily severed the Keeper's wings, leaving a smoke trail to indicate their burning separation. Finn, who had expertly performed the wing-severing maneuver, emerged from behind the Keeper. Activating [Form 3: Inferno Descent] once more, Finn drove himself towards the Keeper and successfully sliced one of its hands off him with the scorching fury of his daggers, amplified by [Boost].The Keeper cried out
His eyes opened as he prepared to awake on the floor of the frigid and stony ruins. However, he was back in the hospital bed that he had been using before his adventures with the group. They gave him a warm welcome and expressed their gratitude, and he returned the favor with a smile while he held back the tears of joy that threatened to fall. His affection grew when he realized that none of them had perished. He might have had a little bit of self-centeredness inside of him because he wanted them to stay by his side. He realized that they owed him nothing and that their lives had nothing to do with him; in reality, the situation was just the opposite. However, it was also possible that his emotions were solely motivated by his self-interest. "I'm starving,"Finn got out of the perfectly clean bed and peered through the drawn curtains to the wide open space that was the city of Gales. He was adjusting to this unfamiliar world gradually, but every time he looked back, he found himself
The guitarist, pianist, and singer were all playing their own instruments while merging their talents to create an orchestrated performance that filled the air. They created an orchestral score that was so flawless that everyone inside the bar danced in unison, following the harmony. Even though it was a pub, he treasured these special occasions. He was in a corner, sipping wine and attracting women's admiration. The drink was nothing short of heavenly, and he would be happy to express his gratitude to the maker of such a wonderful concoction if given the chance. He was the bar's owner, and moments like these made him proud of his investment. As he sipped from his wine glass, women walked up to him with an air of awe while remaining silent in his presence—a behavior he knew all too well. He was well aware that he was the most fascinating figure in the entire venue due to his stunning red hair and eyes that resembled sparkling rubies. He focused on the excellent flavor of his wine as
Liric brushed his teeth while standing in front of a mirror, watching himself. He had been told all his life that he had been born with a natural beauty. However he disliked his white hair and blue eyes, they felt disconnected from him as if he didn't deserve them, especially after of the tragic end of his clan.He put on his black adventurer's outfit before covering it with a white cape that bore blue stripes. Although he disliked wearing it, the ‘Chlaride’ fabric's special ability to resist dirt made it a sensible option for his numerous excursions."Master Titanfall, the high council requests your presence," a voice stated, prompting a sigh from Liric. He understood why they had called him. The reckless use of power before prevented him from capturing the Forest demon, Although he was at fault, he could not afford to appear weak in front of a student. He needed to keep his cool. He didn't think it was particularly cool to defeat a demon with a practical ice spell. "Not even a bit,"
Sven struck the sandbag against the ceiling of his dorm room with great force, each blow driven by resolve. His solid focus was visible as sweat sparkled on his skin as he unleashed strike after blow. He opened his system, using it to check the time. He noticed the early hour from the outside and that even the chickens weren't up yet and with that he continued his exercise. The Vancrest Adventuring School was renowned for its reputation, giving its students the opportunity to advance in guild ranks and get sought-after Holhiem tickets. Because of these advantages, the school attracted only the brightest explorers, enhancing its reputation. Sven's fists continued to beat the sandbag in a steady rhythm until it finally burst, producing a burst of sand that coincided with the clucking of the waking chickens. "Time to start the day." He affirmed. As Sven descended the stairs, several dorm mates who knew him as an early riser mumbled in pain. The morning painted the dorm's residents in i
