"Vincent is no more?" Michael turns back to Ares and asks, his brows tilted disconcertingly. He is asking not because he didn't hear it the first time. But because he'd expected to feel good, to feel relieved, to feel that rush in his veins and that thrill that he has fulfilled something awesome, yet he feels nothing. Nothing at all.

It's just like he didn't do anything. He feels blank and void. And empty. No happiness at all. So he had to ask again to be sure he heard well, maybe he didn't the first time, which is why he is feeling this way. This empty.

But if only that was the case. If only it was! This can be deduced because before he can even deliberate much on his thoughts, Ares, who doesn't understand why he would ask about the same thing he just said has happened, shrugs off the odd feeling and nods, retorting calmly, "Yes, My Lord.
