"Mr. Reese, we did everything we could to save your son's leg, but his femur, tibia, patella, fibula, and tarsal bones were shattered beyond repair. We were able to minimize the pain from his broken legs, but that's all we were able to do. Unfortunately, he'll have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life," the doctor announced in the quiet hospital ward belonging to Hermes Reese.

The room was filled to the brim with every member of the Reese family. Most of them began whispering amongst themselves in hushed voices while some sneered in secret and others became agitated and began laying curses on Ethan Black.

The most agitated of them was Kira Melville, but not because of the condition her son was in.

"What does that mean? What will now happen to the Reese family if Hermes is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life? Does that mean Jethro will take over the family's assets?" She turned to the middle-aged man standing beside Hermes' bed and questioned worriedly.
