The following day's morning was extremely cold. At 6 am, Ethan made sure Honey was well covered before he walked out of it to make a call.

On his way back, he walked past Chloe's room and found the door a bit ajar. He stopped and stared into the room to see Chloe's lonely figure in front of her study desk.

The lights were turned off, and the only source of light in the room was the bedside lamp on her study desk. She held her head in her hands and lowered her eyes down to the table.

He knew she was worried about his bet with Adam. She hadn't said a word to him last night because she was too tired and not in the right frame of mind to yell at him. After all, her parents were doing it already.

After hovering at the doorpost for some minutes, he clenched his fist tightly and walked into her room.
