Helena

They dashed to the forested road, where a ride was patiently waiting for them.

“Man… How did you know we were gonna be here?” Daniel asked as he shook hands with the masked man seated on the car bonnet. He had a mask on, yet was easily recognized.

He pulled the ski mask from his head, revealing a rugged, stubbled jaw and a handsome face topped with a mop of unruly brown hair.

“Even with this mask, you recognize me,” He said, smiling.

“Of course,” Daniel stated as they burst into boisterous laughter.

“It was part of the plan.” Jones said, putting an end to the stormy laughter.

“Now… I'm lost.” Daniel said, expecting an explanation.

“Yeah… It was an alternative plan if stopping Holly Minard's abduction fails.” He said, scanning the surrounding.

“And the police… Was that also part of the plan?” Daniel asked snoopily.

“No… It wasn't part of the plan, per say.” He replied with his brow raised, and a smile extended all over his face.

“I know you planned everything beforehand, but I'm in the dark, and it's fuckin' freaking me out. Tell me more.” Daniel demanded.

“Let's get out of here.” Jones eluded his question as They hopped into the car and zoomed off.

On arriving at the entrance of a warehouse, Jones asked.

“Alan…Where is Helena?”

“She is inside, tied. Erm... Not really tied up as you instructed.” Alan replied.

Helena was tied to a chair, gagged and blindfolded, in the warehouse. She was abducted from the mall by Alan and his gang under Jones' instruction. It was Jones' alternative plan if they couldn't stop Holly Minard's kidnap. He planned on using her as a leverage if everything goes south.

“Good. Daniel, you should handle that, we will be right back.” Jones said as Daniel walked directly into the one-door warehouse.

He stumbled in enthusiastically but couldn't find their Helena. He scanned through the warehouse as he walked towards the empty chair.

Abruptly, A fair - complexion lady plunged at him as he turned rightward. He quickly threw a left hook punch, using his left fist, but was countered as she temple out for a knock-out punch on his right kidney, causing a devastating pain. He grunted and fell.

He slowly rose to his elbows as he grabbed a knife which was nearby.

“Argh…" He grunted and repositioned the knife in preparation for an attack.

Helena kept her eyes on the knife in Daniel's hand. He slashed at the air, forcing her to back away.

“You know, if you try anything funny… I won't hesitate in taking you down. I'm not that calm.” He said, panting.

First rule of a knife fight? Run.

But the windowless walls on all sides of the warehouse eliminated that option.

Rule two? Get your hands on a weapon.

Helena had no weapon to counter his. And the only way leading out of the warehouse was obstructed by Daniel. She had to pass through the dancing blade.

“I have to leave before the other guys return.” She thought to herself as she kept her hands up, awaiting Daniel's next push.

When the next thrust came, she moved fast, seizing his hand. Her fingers slid down his forearm to his wrist and twisted, forcing the knife tip away. She trapped his knife hand against her hip, the knife tumbled to the floor.

Despite this victory, the fight was far from over. Daniel snatched her blonde hair with his free hand, then went for a choke hold.

Because of her slim body build, she spun, never letting go of his wrist, then lashed out with a kick to his knee that knocked his leg out from under him. He crashed to the floor.

This was her chance. If she was going to run, she ought to go now, or at least snatch up the knife and turn on him.

She hesitated too long. So, Daniel swept her leg from under her, and she crashed to the floor beside him. He rolled, using the advantage of his muscled frame to try to pin her.

She didn’t wait for that to happen, instead whipping her body around and scissoring his neck and one shoulder between her legs. They rolled together as he struggled, but this time she ended up on top, his torso pinned beneath her.

“Argh!!” He grunted, trying to get his head out of the scissor lock. Helena was panting. She was smart enough to disengage and grab the knife since the knife was closed.

“You won't love to do that.” With a silky voice, Jones said, pointing a gun at her as he stepped in.

“Let him go, or I won't hesitate in putting a bullet into your skull,” He stated with a serious tone.

“Your man is down and you imposing threats… really?” She grinned as she let go, but she held the knife to his throat.

At the behest of her utterance, Daniel stood up gently facing Jones, keeping his hands hung in the air and palms facing outward.

“I don't impose threat. I promise people what I want to do, and I get it done, So, let him go.” He said as he kept his forefinger on the trigger guard anticipating for a pull.

“ I'm not your hostage, so stay out of the way, I will leave and everything will be over.” Helena said.

“Sure! You're not a hostage only if you drop those dotty martial art skills you try practicing.” Jones sounded insulting.

“Do you make a joke out of everything? Huh?” Helena said, trying to ensconce her true reactions to Jones' insulting nature. She would rather not look weak. Sure! She wasn't a weakling.

“Never really thought of that.” Jones grinned.

As Jones tried to distract her, Daniel used his left hand to pull her right hand which was holding the knife to the left briskly, and he was able to get the knife away from his neck in split seconds. He was faster than she ever imagined, and she wasn't able to stab him.

“Woah!!” Daniel exhaled sharply.

“Drop it,” Jones said cholerically.

“I won't repeat myself again, drop it, now!!!" She did as she was instructed. It was the only surviving hope.

Daniel quickly grabbed the knife and gagged, blindfolded and tied her to her former position.

“How did you unbind yourself, by the way?” Daniel asked sheepishly.
