Walter drove a vintage four doors with a spacious cab that you might be able to use to camp out or play a game of bridge.
He was genuinely short and unassuming slight build, diminishing grey hair, delicate voice, and his light blue eyes made people trust him.
Even though his rival; Joan, operated a slightly smaller car, its rear seat was still capable of accommodating three full-size adults with their luggage in the trunk.
The real point of contention between them was their association with Melvin Otani as collector of the enterprise, and they would do just about anything they could to make it.
As soon as Walter spotted Holly Minard,
“I have the target on sight.” Walter said through the earphone.
“Get everything ready as planned.” He added as he drove to her.
Holly Minard was dressed in a standard professional suit - a white blouse and black trousers. She looked seductive even in her suit because of her hourglass figure.
He slammed on the brakes and spoke with almost a calm voice. “Holly Minard?”
“Yeah…C3?” Holly Minard inquired.
“C3TS… Hop in.” C3 was the clandestine identity for a pickup and the TS attached to the clandestine identity was a representative of whom to meet. That was their secret language.
Holly Minard was to meet Tomica Schwann at the conventional center for the exchange. That was why TS was added to the clandestine identity. C3TS
"Hey… I need to make a private call, any means?” Holly Minard asked Walter immediately she was inside the cab.
“The front and back seats are separated by a bulletproof window. It was added for a different reason. To prevent drivers from listening to passengers' discussion and, most importantly, being shot from behind the wheel. Is it okay if I close it?”
“That would be just be right…Thank you!.”
“You will also notice that there are no lock knobs or door handles for the back seat that can be reached. This was done to prevent passengers from leaving the cab without paying or allowing others to enter, So trust me… It's safe and…” He didn't finish before she interrupted.
“Hey… You used the pick up code. Right? Why explaining? Hush!!” Holly Minard sounded harsh, but Walter had to keep it cool.
“Sorry!” Walter smiled unnoticeably as he felt proud of himself. The target had been found, the trap set, and the capture would soon happen since Holly Minard was in the back seat.
Now that the capture was so close, his pulse sped up. He maintained his firm grip on the wheel while closing the window and focused on completing the capture as he looked ahead.
Holly Minard had no idea that Walter was using a pair of earbuds to listen to her conversations taking place in the back seat from the passenger's side because a small microphone was positioned beneath each of the rear speaker grills.
Without hesitation, Walter picked up his phone since he heard the buzz. It was a message from Joan.
He read the message,
“Change of plans. There's an imposing Tomica Schwann…So, bring the package straight up.”
The conventional center was less than 10 blocks away from the cab. Walter anticipated arriving within seven minutes or less.
Holly Minard continued to provide detailed information to her manager over the phone and sticking with the deal Tomica proposed. She had to call Tomica, but it was very obvious Jones took his cellphone as well since he answered the call.
“Holly Minard on the line. Get the package ready.” she spoke with great confidence.
“Hey, hey!!… Listen to me, where are you??” Jones sounded disturbed.
“At the intersection on the direct route to the centre.” Minard said.
“Good…These guys are trying…” She couldn't hear anything after Walter heard that the imposing Tomica almost made their efforts ineffective. He had flipped the switch to activate the mobile phone signal jammer.
He went three blocks, two more rights and finally a left turn before heading directly to a garage.
Holly looked at her phone screen.
No bars. No signal.
“Gosh!!!” The call got dropped, but she tried calling back.
Walter pressed the button to ask one of their associates to open the gate of the garage at the processing center, which was about a block away.
He was informed that everything was intact and that the entry gate would be opened by the red light response signal on the dash.
He pressed the button to close the inner gate as soon as he saw that the car had cleared in.
In less than 35 seconds, Walter's cab entered the garage and the gate closed after he pressed the button to notify Joan. Walter drove straight up and parked the cab, got out, and left Holly in the cab.
Holly thought the cab had turned into an unidentified garage as soon as she saw it, but she didn't bother because Walter had used the pick-up code, which was known only to people of the enterprise.
While Holly was inside, she turned around to look at the entrance 30 feet away, the left building wall's floor 50 feet away, the right wall's walk-in freezers and connecting office 20 feet away, and the front exit 30 feet away.
“Why did he park in the center of the building when there was ample space elsewhere?” She murmured in confusion.
After attempting to open the bulletproof window and turning around, she discovered that she was stranded in the back of a cab in an unknown location.
She took a deep breath, leaning her head close to the window, She yelled…
“Hey…Get me outta here”
“Open this fucking door and let me out of here now!” but she was ignored completely.
Walter looked like they were about to enter a confined space or perform toxic gas testing, despite wearing masks and breathing normally.
He quickly made his way to the trunk, attached the nozzle to the trunk, and opened the valve to start the nitrogen flow into the cab. When the gas entered the cab, it hissed like a snake about to bite.
Holly Minard screamed once more when she heard it, but this time with even more fear and adrenaline. It was flight time, but it seems like her flight had been hindered.
She injured her hand by slamming her fist against the window of the door.
The cab's oxygen level rapidly decreased. Holly was becoming confused, lightheaded, and dizzy after just two to three breaths of the nitrogen.
They moved the lowered trolley into position and opened the cab's door as soon as it appeared that she was out.
They secured her with a chest harness, moved her to the trolley, strapped her in, and started the oxygen flow to begin the wake-up process. They rolled the trolley into a processing room while oxygen was flowing.
Walter closed the heavy processing room door, returned to the garage floor to stop the nitrogen, and opened the cab doors to bring the oxygen level in the cab back to a safe level.
It was at that moment, Joan walked in with some burly men.
“You got her?” Joan asked. Joan was slightly taller and muscularly built than Walter.
“Yeah… I will contact Melvin soon. How about the…" Walter didn't finish before Joan cuts in.
“Oh… It's fine, got some residing host there. Just notify boss that we got the package. I will be joining them in killing that fake Tomica” Joan replied as they got separated.
Jones kept on staring at his wristwatch and was losing patience. Meanwhile, he was able to notice some surreptitiously movements of some residing hosts. He quickly dialed a call after he saw one of the residing host secretly taking a picture of him. It was very obvious that Melvin was very influential, since he had eyes everywhere. “Hello.” Jones fixed his golden brown eyes on the guard taking his picture, as he spoke through the phone. “Hey papi...you got her?” A male voice sound from the phone. “No, we've been made.” Jones said as he turned his gaze towards the waiter whispering through an earphone. “What? You kidding right?” He asked. “Daniel, you heard me, just keep the car running, okay? Things might go south.” Jones said. “Alright… I'm in the parking garage.” He said and hung up. It didn't take long before Joan arrived with some of the Melvin's lackeys. The screeching sound of the cars and the loud bullwhip-like crack as the supersonic bullets pierced through most
Melvin doesn't like receiving reports with flaws. So, Joan instructed some of his men to furtively wait on Jones as he pretended to be off, which made the agents to cease fire.Jones' picture was all over their phones, so it wasn't difficult for them to identify him. They trailed them.“Hey papi... We got company,” Daniel said, looking at the rearview mirror. “Keep moving… Lose them, can you do that?” Jones asked, but it sounded more like a command.“Sure!” Daniel replied as he hit on the accelerator. He finally started slowing down after a couple of minutes because of the traffic lights ahead.“Don't slow down…keep moving.” Jones commanded. He did as he was instructed. He kept moving, and the gang followed suit. Authority pursued them since they refused to pull-over for the traffic lights. It was definitely Jones' plan to get the police raider on them. The chase was no longer uniform as both cars were chased. Daniel swerved into a different lane as directed by Jones, hoping Joan's
They dashed to the forested road, where a ride was patiently waiting for them.“Man… How did you know we were gonna be here?” Daniel asked as he shook hands with the masked man seated on the car bonnet. He had a mask on, yet was easily recognized. He pulled the ski mask from his head, revealing a rugged, stubbled jaw and a handsome face topped with a mop of unruly brown hair. “Even with this mask, you recognize me,” He said, smiling.“Of course,” Daniel stated as they burst into boisterous laughter.“It was part of the plan.” Jones said, putting an end to the stormy laughter.“Now… I'm lost.” Daniel said, expecting an explanation.“Yeah… It was an alternative plan if stopping Holly Minard's abduction fails.” He said, scanning the surrounding.“And the police… Was that also part of the plan?” Daniel asked snoopily.“No… It wasn't part of the plan, per say.” He replied with his brow raised, and a smile extended all over his face.“I know you planned everything beforehand, but I'm in th
She stared at him with no response. He removed the bandage used in obstructing her mouth and her outside view. She stared at him with so much annoyance running through her vein, but her dazzling blue eyes reflected the pity and weakness she didn't want to show.“I asked you a question.” Daniel yelled at her as he slammed the outmoded table.“How do you expect me to talk when my mouth was gagged, huh?" She scowled.“And what are you going to do if I don't talk?” She squished her lips as she said.“Then you will receive a series of beatings, trust me.” Daniel said with a harsh tone.“I don't trust humans and if I should go against that, I will never trust you. I detest you and your fucking gang, let me out of here!” She yelled as she bowed her head despondently. “Haha… The real torture hasn't started yet, and you're already hopeless. What a shame!!” Daniel said, laughing as he brought his face close to hers. He was doing all that just to get pass the humiliation of a girl staging a fig
Walter went against the “now” order as he quickly called the laboratory courier to deliver the samples. The reason Holly Minard's blood was being tested wasn't known to Walter, nor even Joan. That was one of the secrets Melvin didn't share with them. His shoulders hunched forward, and his chest shook as he chuckled to himself about what a clever guy he was.Seeing him, people generally considered him a fragile, pitiable minimal elderly person. But after knowing the savagery and detestable things he had done, one would like to put something between themselves or any other person they often thought about and him as quickly as possible. He untied her but left her with cuffs used to restrain her, and switched off the processing room overhead lights as he helped Holly Minard to a wheelchair. She felt the fatigue and strain like a noose around her neck. She was tired and a jumbled mixture of thoughts were streaming in as if she had torn out some pages at random from her brain. She knew th
Jones paced forth and back in front of Helena. He was actually expecting a call from Melvin after realizing that Melvin cared so much about her sister. Jones wasn't a seer, but he had predicted Melvin's next move since he was able to find out his vulnerability.“Hey papi... What should we do now?” Daniel, who was already losing patience, asked.“We wait.” He replied with a calm voice.“You don't seem like a killer… Are you?” Helena radiated a smile at him, trying to pry. Jones only stared at her, keeping his facial expression in a way that depicts disinterested qualities.“Just wondering though… Because it is insensible for someone who got no idea about killing to try to kidnap and kill someone.”“What are your ambitions?”“Huh?…Whatever. You don't want to talk to me, yeah. I respect that. But one question, please.”“What is it?” He finally replied, but no concern in his voice.“Why was I abducted?” She asked with the hope of starting a conversation.“The less you know, the better for
Helena replied before Jones could utter a word.“I won't… Remember I detest Melvin and I never called you nor him abductors. Are we good?”“You didn't call us abductors? Whatever, but you don't trust us.” Daniel said.“Yes… I don't trust you, but I trust your weird friend.” Helena stated.“Weird friend?” Daniel chuckled and added, “Why not just tell him you like him.”“You say shit a lot. You know that, right?” She retaliated.“I might not be as smart as him, but I know love when I see one. You like him, and you're just trying to---” Jones cuts in instantly,“Danny!!!” “Hey!! You... I told you to leave. So leave.” Jones added, staring at her furiously. She just stared at him lustfully and didn't know when he complimented him. “You have a nice voice.”“I said it.” Daniel blasted.“No… That's not what I meant. I mean, whatever…" She sighed in exasperation and hurriedly left the warehouse.Daniel was about bringing up Helena up, but Jones' demeanor were all against that, and so he compl
It was already 8:00am, Melvin and his platoon were already at the intersection of Donald emporium waiting patiently for Jones' arrival. He wasn't there to strike the deal as proposed, but to gun down Jones and get Helena without handling over Holly Minard.Joan walked to Melvin and said, “It's getting late, boss.”“I know… But I'm not leaving here without taking down that wimp.” Melvin responded with so much serious in his voice. With no gap in time, Two blue SUVs accompanied by a patrol car shoved in, in the opposite direction, but kept their distance.“Get ready….” Melvin said via the spy microphone. The cars, except for the patrol car, halted to a stop at the intersection of the emporium. The patrol car limped slowly to the side of the intersection. There were also two other black sedan cars coming from the left direction.“We got two black sedan cars coming leftward,” one of the lackeys who was placed to spy on the surrounding said to Melvin via the microphone.“What?!!” Melvin ex
Jones' eyes widened when he saw Jason unleashing a gun, with his hand on the trigger guard already. And in a split second, a whip-crack sound exploded out of the barrel.“Jones!!!!!!” Kenny yelled at the top of his voice when he saw Jones pacing towards Jason, immediately the gun was fired.Coming to the realization that the gun shot he heard was fired towards Kenny. He quickly lunged at Jason. They both crashed to the ground together, rolled together through the wet, dirt, and the thorns and the broken branches, tearing and punching and growling at each other. A large tree root hit Jones in the head, making his ears to ring. Jones got more advantageous with the punches as they rolled down the broken branches.Jason was looking rashly for his pocket gun but couldn't remember where it had fallen. Another resounding punch came from Jones and he couldn't block it.Jason held him as he rolled, making Jones to roll on alongside. They rolled down the hill, the world flipping and flipping
J-kill and Paul ran into an unknown direction, paving through the dense forest. As they stormed through the forest, it morphed into a large open space, cluttered with rocks of different sizes. Paul had no idea about where they were headed, he just had to follow J-kill like a puppet.“Com'on, we're getting close.” J-kill beckoned and started running towards an unpaved road surfaced with gravel. The more they get closer, the more a noticeable grin masked Paul's face. For more than three years, he had never felt such a tender joy.“Is that it?” Paul asked when they stopped running.“Yes! That's our way out. We're out of this forest. Woah,” J-kill yelled. With Paul's eyebrows scrunched up, he asked, “you know about this escape route all these while?”“I think I do, I just don't remember the way. I had to think.” He answered and walked briskly towards the gravel road. They wandered through the road, though J-kill wasn't feeling hopeful, Paul was consumed with zestfulness, that he was fina
“This is FBI, you're completely surrounded, Surrender now!” Came a voice from a megaphone as they close on Jones and the rest of the prisoners, who were still alive. They didn't expect everything to turn out this way, the deaths and everything happening was never close to what Jones planned.Jones and the escaped prisoners were taking cover with the stolen car, while the FBI agents were closing on them from both side. If they should keep running at the open space that lead to the forest, there's a high chance they won't make it there without getting shot. And there is no other option better than surrendering, and Jones wasn't ready to go back to prison. If they are caught as it seems like, they might not get thrown into Atlad prison again. What fate awaits them?“Does that mean, I will be thrown into the same prison as my brother? Is he even in any prison? Why is it not known to public! Dammit,” Jones doesn't know what to believe anymore. He was having mixed feelings and feeling bad w
A Boeing 747 flew over and landed safely on the helipad. The cool mist splashed Melvin Otani's face as he walked out through the door of the jumbo jet.The roaring sound of the jet engine rushed through his ear as the door to the plane shoved open.Hundreds of men in suits fell into a line immediately the door of the jet was open, they had a badge attached to their suit. The badge on their suit was an indication of loyalty to Melvin Otani. Once the loyalty of a recruit is perceived to be without pretense and remorse, they are accepted to serve. While they were anticipating his presence, Joan and five burly men, stepped out. Melvin was behind them, walking in a lordly manner as usual. The whole building, attached to the helipad, was owned by Melvin Otani and no intruder has been able to invade the location. Even the government still doesn't have any idea about Melvin's movement. He comes into the country and leave like the ghost he was. The walking living ghost as known by everyone.“W
Melody briskly walked out of the brick building. It was an old building that had an undeniable serenity. The fusty nosegay of age and quietness embraced her as she walked through the environment. There were drawings imprinted on the walls of the building, but they all seemed to have faded away along the design layers.Despite its deteriorated state, the whole building and the environment had the peace the other world craved.“Hey Melody,” Ramon waved at her and walked towards her.“How's your man, uhm…Chris?” She asked without staring at him. She felt bad and didn't like how she was feeling despite being in a safe place. She tried comforting herself that all seemed to be fine, but she was merely betraying her true feelings.“Oh, Yeah, he's getting better.” He exhaled heavily, before throwing the question he had always wanted to ask since they got the news about Jones escaping. “Why did Jones hire you as his lawyer?”She hiked her head up and stared in surprised at him. She never expec
Jones and the other escaped prisoners were still running at a fast pace through the woods. They are tired, sweaty and breathing heavily. “I knew it. I knew it will get to this. Everything is just fucked up.” Kenny said, slowing down his pace.“I never wanted to join the escape. I—I… I really don't want any of this.” Kenny stammered, trying to catch his breath. He was clearly close to despair. With that, Jones and the other prisoners stopped running.“How long are we going to keep running?” Paul asked out of frustration.Everyone was tired and frustrated. They trusted Jones' plan, but it seemed like everything was going south. They got found before, and they believe the police will find them again if they don't get out of the woods now.Jones had to deploy a new escape plan the very moment he found out that his brother was not in Atlad prison. So his former plan had a means of getting them out of the woods with ease, but since they weren't using his initial plan, it was going to be d
Detective Jason stood with a group of armed police officers at the edge of the forest. Armored cars and patrol cars were parked everywhere. Forensics roamed around with files.“Here's all we found.” One of the forensics said and handed over a document to Jason. He took the document with the stacks of photos of the escaped prisoners. He first looked at a photo of Jones' face, trailing it down to his body.“An Architect, right?” He asked and Officer Alex, who was beside him, nodded affirmatively.“Why is the occupation showing unemployed? He is supposed to be working for different companies and such people ain't expect to take bad turns accidentally. Hmmm,” He peered through his sunglasses at a photo of Jones' body tentatively. After staring for long and getting no glimpse of anything, he sighed and ordered the FBI unit to set a perimeter, so that Jones and the other prisoners couldn't elude the arrest, since he believed they were still in the forest.During his drive to his office, a
The Warden paced forth and back in his office, thinking frantically about what to do, while Officer Alex just stood there with his brown eyes peering down in a confused state. “Do you have any idea of the consequences of what you've done?” The Warden spoke out, but still walking around, looking confused as well.He just couldn't control all that was happening. He felt gullible, trusting that silky voice of Jones and falling prey to his plans.“I thought you were to be trusted. What happened to all the trust I had in you? The faith, everything I have taught you all these years we've been working together.” He added, breathe out heavily and finally took his seat.“Sir Aaron, I didn't…" Officer Alex was interrupted before he could even utter the next word.“Don't address me by my name. Address me like everyone else, you've lost the trust. So don't ever!!” Warden Aaron said with his forefinger gesturing a no.“Sir… Sorry, Warden,” Alex paused for a while, “I didn't do it. I will never a
The inmates flee through the woods speedily as the cool breeze brushed their faces. They were able to see clearly now, since the sun was just starting to rise, but not fully set.Jones pushes branches of trees that were covered with dew as they made their way through the huge forest. His cheeks were already red as a result from the exertion, and his blue prison suit was soaked with sweat and water from the trees. From the way they were panting, it was obvious they had been running for hours, and they didn't even stop for a moment despite there was a need to.The prison guards didn't stop chasing them, so they had the chance of resting. They kept tracking them with the use of dogs, and dogs barking always raised an awareness of the guards' proximity to them. They seem to be on the trail of the escaped prisoners. “Come on! Jones,” Kenny gasped to Paul, who paused to catch his breath. He was so exhausted, but he had to keep running if he wanted to escape. He took to his feet and joined
