The Evidence

There was a sense of magnificence felt when Melody and her secretary worked into her office. The office room was spacious, with dropped ceilings and ornate moldings. The walls were painted in a deep shade of tan, perfected by the well-lit glasses at the window offering an amazing view outward.

Melody sat on her desk. The table was cluttered with files and a large computer monitor sitting prominently at the center of the desk.

“Have your seat.” Melody said, and her secretary sat on the chair opposite to Melody.

“What's the confidential information you can't share through the phone?” Melody asked as she pulled the large file on her left side. The file was the largest among all the files in the desk. It was large enough to cover Melody's brass nameplate.

“It was concerning Gaston.” The secretary said. Melody stopped multitasking and listened carefully to whatever her secretary had to say.
