The air grew thinner and colder as Zhao Lingyun and Lin Fengtian climbed the steep path to the Valley of Ice Mirrors. All around them, snowy mountain peaks towered, covered in mist that was occasionally parted by strange flashes of light. The journey from the Forest of Whispers had taken five full days, with numerous obstacles and several near-captures by Purity Guard patrols.

“They're getting more and more organized,” Lin Fengtian commented while observing the trail of the patrol they had just evaded. “Zhang Qingxuan must have mobilized his entire network to look for us.”

Zhao Lingyun checked the badge in his hand. “Three dots are glowing, and the fourth is blinking faster and faster. We're almost there.”

As they neared the top, the sight before them left them both transfixed. The Ice Mirror Valley sprawled out-a giant basin whose entire surface was covered in perfectly clear ice, creating a natural mirror that reflected the sky and mountains around it. But even more amazing was what

His keen eyes scanned the eastern horizon, where the lights of the aurora were clearly visible despite being hundreds of li apart. His regal robes fluttered in the night breeze, revealing the Alliance Leader's emblem pinned to his chest.“The fourth pillar has activated,” he said flatly, without turning to the black-robed figure standing behind him. “Just as you predicted.”The black-robed figure stepped forward, joining Zhao Liangyu on the balcony. His face was hidden behind a wooden mask with interlocking dragon and phoenix carvings.“Of course,” the figure replied, his voice smooth yet containing undeniable authority. “Your sister has a strong will-just like her mother used to.”Hearing the reference to his late wife, Zhao Liangyu's jaw hardened. “Don't compare them. Yingmei has a fatal flaw-too idealistic. Lingyun is more pragmatic, though currently lost on the wrong path.”“Ar

The sun was setting faster than usual, as if the sky itself was in a hurry to welcome the dangerous plan they were about to carry out. Zhao Lingyun and Lin Fengtian were now sneaking through the secret tunnels beneath the village-an ancient pathway that Elder Zhang said had been used for centuries by the Balance Keepers.“Are you still angry?” Lin Fengtian broke the silence, his voice echoing softly against the damp stone walls of the tunnel.Zhao Lingyun didn't answer right away. His hand was tightly gripping the bronze badge of the nine-tailed fox that Elder Zhang had given him-their ticket to meet the Demon King.“I'm not angry,” he finally replied. “Just... trying to make sense of all this. All my life, I was raised to believe that demons were our natural enemies, dangerous creatures to be avoided. Now I know that demon blood flows in my own body.”Lin Fengtian touched his younger brother's shoulder. “That's all doctrine that Zhao Liangyu and the conservative elders deliberately i

“Shadow King,” Lin Fengtian hissed, gripping his sword tightly. The masked figure laughed softly-a cold and emotionless sound, echoing from behind his plain white mask. “That name is just a nickname given by those who are too afraid to say my real name.”Zhao Lingyun felt a strange sensation as he stared at the mask-a resonance, as if something was familiar. His hand slowly moved towards the hidden dagger at his waist.“Don't bother, young man,” the Shadow King raised his hand. “You are surrounded by my elite troops. One suspicious move, and you'll see your brother die before he has a chance to catch his breath.”Lin Fengtian remained vigilant, his eyes moving quickly to count opponents. “How did you know we were coming?”“Of course,” the Shadow King stepped forward with unnatural grace, ”because I sent the invitations.”Zhao Lingyun and Lin Fengtian exchanged confused glances.“Nine-Tailed Fox Badge,” the King of Shadows pointed at the bronze badge hanging from Lin Fengtian's waist.

Every step felt heavy, but the determination in his chest was far stronger than his physical exhaustion.“The dragon army is almost here!” one of the soldiers shouted, pointing to the sky where black shadows were approaching.“You three go first,” the commander of Yingmei's troops drew his sword. “We'll hold them off as long as possible.”“But-” Yingmei was about to protest.“Your Majesty,” the commander bowed respectfully, ”this is our duty. The fate of the two realms depends on your success tonight.”Yingmei gazed at her soldiers with teary eyes behind the mask, then nodded firmly. “Your bravery will be forever remembered in the history of the Fox Clan.”Without wasting any more time, Yingme

“Follow your heart,” Zhao Lingyun replied, repeating the words their mother had often spoken. “We are the pure blood of the two clans, Lin-ge. We're the true key.”Lin Fengtian nodded, his confidence in his younger brother not wavering despite the increasingly chaotic situation. All around them, crystal columns glowed with ever-changing colors, creating an aurora that danced wildly on the ceiling of the ritual room.“On the count of three,” Zhao Lingyun instructed, his silver eyes sparkling in the darkness. “One... two... three!”Simultaneously, the two brothers placed their hands on the still spinning badge. Their touches created dazzling flashes of light-silvery white from Zhao Lingyun, golden from Lin Fengtian. The badge stopped spinning instantly. The black energy ball beneath it slowly changed color, from dusky purple to bright blue, then pure white. The room was filled with light so bright that everyone had to close their eyes.“No way!” shouted Elder Zhang, his voice sounding p

“You mean the tower changed... metaphysically?” Zhao Lingyun tried to understand, still feeling weak in his wheelchair.Yingshu nodded slowly, her slender hand gently touching the map. “The Border Tower is now in an in-between state-not fully in the Human Realm, nor in the Demon Realm. It's like... floating in a dimensional gap.”“Our observers report strange phenomena,” the Tiger Clan Chief added, his golden eyes flashing sharply. “The tower sometimes disappears from view for a few hours, then reappears. The temperature around it fluctuates drastically, and time runs differently inside.”Zhao Lingyun pondered, recalling the strange sensation he felt in the tower before losing consciousness-a feeling of floating, as if gravity had lost its power.“Has anyone tried to enter the tower since that incident?” he asked.Yingshu's expression darkened. “Yes. Three exploration teams were sent out-one from the Fox Clan, one from the Tiger Clan, and one combined. None of them returned.”An eerie

The mockery of Lin Fengtian's features—the strong jaw, the stern eyes that had always looked at him with protection and care—now twisted in an unnatural smile."Remove my brother's face," Zhao Lingyun commanded, his voice low but carrying an unmistakable threat. The bronze badge at his waist pulsed with energy that synchronized with his heartbeat. The Tester chuckled, the sound echoing unnaturally in the white corridor. "Such attachment. Such...weakness." The face melted once more, reshaping into something inhuman—features too symmetrical, skin too smooth, eyes too large and entirely black."Better?" it asked, voice now carrying multiple tones simultaneously.Zhao Lingyun stood his ground. He drew a deep breath, centering his thoughts before pushing open the ornately carved doors.Conversation died as he entered. A dozen pairs of eyes turned toward him—elders and senior disciples gathered around the large rosewood table that dominated the hall's center. Lin Fengtian was silent, the warm teacup in his grasp felt heavy. Elder Yi's direct statement struck like lightning in a clear sky. This was the moment he had been dreading since his transformation-a direct confrontation with one of the strongest cultivators in the Academy.“Elders are very perceptive,” Lin Fengtian finally replied, choosing his words carefully. “Disciple did have an... unusual experience during the last meditation.”Elder Yi sipped his tea quietly, his eyes never leaving Lin Fengtian. “You probably think I work for them,” he said suddenly, his voice almost a whisper. “For the Alliance. For... the entity that controls them.”Lin Fengtian's heart was racing, but he kept his expression calm. With his new senses, he investigated the conceptual distortions around Elder Yi-still present, but thinner compared to most people in the Academy, especially compared to Xiao Wei. This was interesting.“Disciples don't dare to be prejudiced,” Lin Fengtian replied diplomatically.Eld

The Full Pavilion loomed on the east side of the Purple Cloud Academy, its circular structure with a curved silver roof reflecting the movement of the moon in the night sky. Lin Fengtian stepped up the white marble stairs, each step feeling heavier than usual. Not only because of the emptiness in his soul that still felt unfamiliar, but also because of the burden of new knowledge he was now carrying. Two guard disciples bowed respectfully when he arrived at the main entrance. “Lin-shixiong, Elder Yi is waiting in the Silver Hall of Reflection,” one of them informed him.Lin Fengtian nodded and stepped inside the pavilion. The air inside felt heavier, laden with spiritual energy that had accumulated over the centuries of meditation and cultivation performed in this place. But with his new senses, he could now sense something else beneath the spiritual energy-a thin layer of conceptual distortion that was almost undetectable.Even here, he thought. • INCOMPLETE ACCEPTANCE

Lin Fengtian felt the meaning of the Balancer's words seep into every cell of his body. Incompleteness was a concept that he had always avoided throughout his cultivation journey. For a cultivator, perfection was the ultimate goal, completeness the highest achievement. But now, half of his soul had turned into a cosmic entity telling him that he must accept this incompleteness as his destiny.“Half of my soul has become part of you.” Lin Fengtian said quietly, his voice almost a whisper. “What's left of me now? Half human? Half cultivator?”The Balancer looked at him, his white eyes sparkling with an understanding that transcended time. “What's left of you, Lin Fengtian, is the purest essence of your humanity-a part that can never be divided or separated. The human soul is not like a fruit that can be cut into two identical halves. When you separate the soul, what is created are two different entities that originate from the same source.”The Shadow Master stepped forward, his face sh

  • FRAGMENTED REFLECTION

Lin Fengtian felt a strong impulse in his remaining soul-the existential link that connected him to the paradox of life he had just created. That connection trembled with painful intensity, like a string being pulled too tight until it was about to break. The paradoxical entity-the half of his soul that now had an independent consciousness-emitted increasingly strong distortion waves, causing the fabric of the neutral space around them to contort and twist unnaturally.“Lin Fengtian,” the Forgotten One said with an urgency rarely seen from primordial entities, ”that entity isn't just vibrating. It is... evolving.”The Shadow Master stepped forward, a defensive cultivation formation having activated around his body. “This is the reason why the Soul Shadow Separation technique should only be performed under controlled conditions,” he said in a tense tone. “Without a proper unification ritual, the separated consciousness will find its way back by any means.”“No,” Lin Fengtian denied, hi

  • INTER-REALITY FOG

The neutral space between dimensions looked like an endless silver mist, filled with fragments of reality floating like shapeless shards of glass. Lin Fengtian stood at the threshold of the crack, his gaze sharp and calculating while he surveyed the scene before him. Behind him, the conceptual tetrahedron formations were still rotating slowly, maintaining the balance they had just painstakingly achieved.“Creating deliberate paradoxes,” the Shadow Master said from Lin Fengtian's side, ”is a violation of the fundamental principle of Shadow Path cultivation. This is the path of no return, my disciple.”Lin Fengtian turned to his mentor. In his eyes there was a firm determination, no longer the gaze of a doubting disciple, but of a cultivator who had understood his position in the cosmic order.“Master,” he said in a respectful yet firm tone, ”sometimes cultivation paths must evolve when faced with unprecedented threats.”The Breaker stepped forward, the fragments of reality that made up

  • FOURTH DIMENSION

Lin Fengtian felt the air around him tremble with increasingly dense conceptual energies. The unspoken battle between the Forgotten One and the Breaker created a pressure wave that even the Documentarians began to retreat to the edges of the Hall of Nine Tails. It stood tall, a resonant center that was now on the brink of transformation-or total collapse.“We're running out of time,” the Integrator said, his voice carrying an unconcealed urgency. “The third pulse will come in a matter of moments.”Lin Fengtian closed his eyes, feeling the flow of qi in his body that was now mixed with the conceptual energies of the three cosmic entities around him. In the darkness of his meditation, he saw something unseen before-the hidden structure of the resonance they formed, like an invisible architecture that sustained reality itself.“I understand it now,” he said slowly, his eyes still closed. “This formation isn't just about balance... it's about transformation.”When Lin Fengtian opened his

  • SHADOWS BEHIND THE COSMIC CURTAIN

“Reset?” Lin Fengtian asked, feeling a cold wave creeping up his spine. “Partial reset... what does that mean exactly?”The Breaker floated silently, the shards of reality that made up his figure vibrating with a rhythm as regular as a cosmic heartbeat. “It means,” he finally replied, ”that any entities involved in the failed conceptual paradox will be returned to their fundamental status-with no memory, no identity formed thereafter.”The words hung in the air like a curse. Lin Fengtian felt his heart as if it had stopped beating. “You mean... I'll lose all my memories? My identity?”“And your relationship with Zhao Lingyun,” the Breaker added in a flat tone that contrasted with the severity of the implication. “Everything will go back to where it was before you met.”The Integrator, who was still maintaining a three-way resonance with Lin Fengtian and the Abandoned, emitted a wave of intense emotion-a mixture of Zhao Lingyun's sadness and the Forgotten One's conceptual understanding

  • PARADOXICAL RESONANCE

The Integrator nodded, then extended his hand to Lin Fengtian and the Abandoned simultaneously. “You two are the poles needed to stabilize this paradox,” he said in a voice that carried cosmic authority. “Lin Fengtian represents the potential of humanity, while the Abandoned One represents conceptual inevitability.”Lin Fengtian took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the responsibility that now rested on his shoulders. He was fully aware that the step he was taking might not have a way back. But in his mind, there was no hesitation-only determination born from his affection for Zhao Lingyun and his resolve to protect the reality he knew.“How?” Lin Fengtian asked, his voice calm despite his racing heart.“By creating a three-way resonance,” Ignored explained, the nothingness that made up his figure fluctuating with an almost rhythmic rhythm. “Me, you, and the Integrator-form a conceptual triangle that will stabilize the cracks in reality.”The Documentarians were moving faster and

  • OBLIVION PROTOCOL

“Specialization,” the Abandoned repeated the word in an almost melancholy tone. “A word too simple to describe what happened to us.”The fragments of reality carried by the Documentarians are now spinning faster and faster, displaying fragments of memory forgotten-not only by the First, but also by the Forgetful One himself. Two primordial entities that do not yet have a definitive form appear, moving in an abstract dance in an infinite conceptual space.“Before there was time, before there was space,” the Forgotten One continued, ”we were a paradoxical unity. That which remembers and that which forgets. That which unites and that which separates.”Lin Fengtian observed the conceptual figures in the fragment, trying to understand the implications of what he was witnessing. Despite being a young cultivator, his keen intuition caught an irregularity.“If you were once one,” he asked cautiously, ”what triggered this separation?”The question made the atmosphere in the Hall of Nine Tails
