Wise people say, don't make decisions when emotions run high. Well, the problem is that even wise people cannot always be wise in every condition, especially when they are taken over by emotions. Whether it is for the sake of her daughter, or because she still has feelings for her ex-husband, Sofia leaves the office without giving much consideration. However, in just one step out of the office, her attention is already distracted by a phone call from Dylan. She tries to ignore it. However, even after she reaches the elevator, Dylan is still trying to call. “What’s wrong with him?” she mumbles. After waiting there for two minutes in front of the elevator, the elevator door still isn’t open yet. The surge of feelings that previously peaked for a moment, slowly begins to subside. Until then, she turns her attention to the phone call with a slightly annoyed expression. “I’m busy now,” she says coldly right after she receives the call. “If there’s something important, make it quick!”
Indeed, there’s no serious issue in the company at the surface, except for Sofia’s incapability to lead the company. Sofia can only pout with a pitiful face. She no longer knows who she should trust. Even though, in reality, she really wants to trust that best friend of hers, Evelyn. “I know she won’t do this despicable thing,” she groans. “But…” “Then why would you start thinking there’s something wrong with this financial report?” asks Kylie. Hence, Sofia shares her suspicion about Alex after she found Alex having a new car. Of course, she doesn’t bring Dylan’s name here, who was the one who sparked this distrust. She only shares to Kylie all the possibility of Alex stealing the company’s money. And somehow, Kylie couldn't deny that possibility. Despite how much she trusted that ex-boss of hers, she finds the suspicions quite reasonable. “If he had the intention, he could simply do it easily,” utters Kylie, speculating about Alex’s potential in stealing the company’s money wit
She hates it. But at the end of the day, she has no reason to show her objection. She admits that Alex can do whatever he wants now, since he is no longer her husband anymore. And Kylie, she can only hold her forehead with so much disbelief. “That’s men for you. Thank god that I’ve decided to never fall into their trap.” “Is that the reason you are still single?” “Just saying, women like us don’t need men in our lives. So, what are we gonna do?” Sofia feels so reluctant to meet Alex. She believes it was a big mistake to ever think about reconciling her marriage with that ex-husband. In the end, she cancels her intention to ask Evelyn’s help too. Now she is not suspecting Alex alone. She even puts Evelyn in her target of accusation for stealing the company’s money, without knowing for sure whether company money was actually stolen or not. Unbeknownst to her, Alex is still inside his car, simply watching his daughter playing with Evelyn’s kid. He doesn’t enter Evelyn’s house for a
Whether it's paranoia, or xenophobia, whatever you want to call it. What is clear is that Nancy's excessive worry has affected her fat husband. “Aren’t you going too far with that accusation?” grumbles Ronnie the fat man. “Do you think I’m stupid? I saw it with my own two eyes. The kid was unconscious when he took her inside. Why don’t you just call your nephew, and ask him to check on that man’s house.” “But…” “There’s nothing wrong with being alert before regretting it too late! Go call that cop now, and tell him to check on that house!” Ronnie still looks confused and annoyed, not so sure what to do. However, the wife keeps forcing him to call his nephew. It’s not about he believes her or not. He simply wants her to just shut her trap, hence the fat man finally makes a call. “Melvin! This is me, Uncle Ronnie.” [Yes! What is it, Uncle Ron? I heard that your wife had problems at the convenience store. Is it true?] “Well, I didn’t know about that. Anyway, we’ve got an issue he
Those new rookies walk nonchalantly approaching that house, with Nancy still observing them from behind her curtain.Melvin seems so curious with the Mercedes S600 Guard parked in front of Alex’s house. He often observed the condition of Alex's house every time he passed this neighborhood. But this is the first time he sees that car there.“Looks like a new car,” he mumbles as he walks toward Alex’s house.Wesley chuckles a bit with a disbelieving face, noticing how contrasting the look of that new car is, compared to the appearance of Alex’s house.“Is that his car?”“I’m not so sure. My girlfriend told me that he is jobless now,” utters Melvin.“But it looks so new. There's no way he could borrow someone else's car. If it were me, I wouldn't let anyone else drive it. This is the kind of car usually used by important figures such as governors or prime ministers.”“It seems fishy, isn’t it?” replies Melvin rhetorically. “The only thing I can think of is that maybe he is a driver. But
He then issues a specific command to turn off all the lamps, which only himself knows the keyword.“Mancik lah lalu, matian lampu!”He then counts in 3 seconds. Within 2 seconds, all the lights went out again. And in the third second, he opens his eyes.Melvin actually heard Alex’s voice spelling that keyword. And he is now a bit shocked and looks so clueless due to the sudden darkness. On the other hand, Alex immediately rushes in the hallway toward that staircase. It’s not actually too dark inside that house. But Melvin’s eyes haven’t been adapted to that sudden change, while Alex doesn’t find any issue with that situation.Alex sees Melvin’s hands holding the gun as that cop has just reached the first floor. In the next split second, he grabs that gun with his left hand and directs it away from himself. At the same time, he sends a strong right at Melvin’s face.BAM!That one catches Melvin off guard. The gun is snatched off of his hand, and blood starts dripping on the floor.“Aaa
From Persian black swords, Japanese wakizashi, kunai, and shuriken, to several types of firearms are on set on the wall. One thing that Melvin doesn’t realize is that all of them are antiques items, starting from a Turkish ceremonial jeweled rifle set, King Tut's daggers, a British Victorian Webley, and several types of World War II pistols.“Holy shit! What is he? An assassin freak?”He then notices three cases and two weapon cloth bags under the table. They are made specifically to encase those sets of items. He puts all of those antique items into those cases and takes them outside.“What are you doing?” asks Wesley as Melvin gets out of that basement.“What about that man? Have you cuffed him?”Wesley shakes his head cluelessly.“Stupid! You better cuff him now before he starts becoming a trouble,” issues Melvin as he walks toward the front door by taking all those weapons. Both Nancy and her husband are still patiently waiting for the development of that issue. As Nancy sees Melv
At the moment, all Alex’s weapons are spread on the table in front of Detective Porter, with the wakizashi and the Persian black sword leaning against the wall.Unlike Melvin, this detective knows so well that those weapons are indeed an antique collection. Yet, he still sees Alex as a real criminal. As Tyler seriously follows the interrogation being conducted by Melvin and Wesley, that detective occupies himself with Alex’s two old karambits. Compared to the other antique weapons, these twin karambit look so cheap and modest, and he believes they are not worthy enough to collect.“Do you know what this weapon is?” he asks rhetorically, trying to draw Tyler’s interest.Tyler just shakes his head curiously.“This is karambit, a unique dagger of silat practitioners.”“Oh, silat practitioners? I’ve seen some of them in Y0utube. There is also that gore movie which is mainly played by silat masters too.” Tyler affirms, but with a bit of a skeptical face as he tries to take a closer look at
