Metal Book

"What are you standing there for? Did you hear what I said?" Seeing Claude standing dumbfounded outside the door, Tiffany couldn't help but get angry and elbowed him.

Claude, who was about to check out the item and prestige shops, was startled by the elbow, immediately exiting the system.

"So, are you coming in or not?" Tiffany, having called him multiple times without a response, started to lose her temper.

"What are you yelling for? I'm not deaf, let's go inside!" Claude, hurt by the elbow, glared at her, then walked quickly into the house without paying her any more attention.

"What..." Tiffany was stunned on the spot, having never been treated like this by anyone before.

"I... I'm going to bite you to death!"

Tiffany screamed in anger and then bit Claude's arm. Claude couldn't help but yell: "You... you're crazy, let go, let go!"

But in terms of sheer strength, Claude was no match for her and could only endure the pain from the bite, grinding his teeth and tearing up.

"You're crazy, you're really crazy!" Claude yelled out in anger.

"Ha ha ha, scream some more, keep screaming! Have you now realized how formidable Miss here is?" After venting her emotions, Tiffany finally let go of Claude's arm. She stood, hands on hips, laughing triumphantly and giving Claude a provocative look.

"Hmph, you dare to bite me, thinking I wouldn’t dare to bite back?" Claude, also annoyed, had never encountered such a temperamental girl before. A childish impulse surged within him, and he rushed forward, intending to give as good as he got.

"What... what are you doing?" Tiffany suddenly became a bit panicked, not expecting Claude to retaliate.

"Ah... ouch... you... you get out of the way..."

Somehow, just as she stepped back, she tripped over a rock, tumbling backward, and falling to the ground. Claude, charging forward, couldn't stop in time and ended up falling right on top of her. Their position was extremely compromising, with their lips and bodies pressed closely together.

"Aaa!" After a moment of stunned silence, Tiffany finally reacted, pushing Claude off with all her might, followed by a slap that nearly twisted his neck.

"Slap!"

"I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you!" What followed was a barrage of punches and kicks.

At this moment, Claude sat dazed, smiling stupidly. His mind was completely blank.

"Ah, this is infuriating!" After a series of continuous attacks, seeing Claude's dumb expression, Tiffany couldn't bring herself to hit him any harder. She could only stamp her foot in frustration and then turn to run into the room.

"Bang!"

Seeing her storm off like a whirlwind and then slamming the door shut, Mortimer was puzzled and scratched his head, whispering: "This girl, she didn't start another fight with my brother-in-law, did she?"

But Claude at that moment: "Ahh... I... I just kissed her... ah... unbelievable... I actually kissed her... how can her lips be so soft?"

If Claude's current thoughts were known to those with the intention of time-traveling, they would surely rush over to loudly call him "foolish."

"Oh, brother-in-law, why are you still sitting here?" Mortimer, coming outside and seeing Claude sitting on the ground, couldn't help but call out.

"Ah, I... ah... nothing... nothing..." Claude, startled by Mortimer's call, scrambled up like a thief caught by the homeowner and hurriedly ran off.

"Hey, I haven’t even shown you your room yet?" Seeing Claude run off as if he had seen a ghost, Mortimer couldn't help but call out. But then he shook his head, laughing: "Ah, this guy really is…”

Having said that, Mortimer no longer paid attention to Claude's affairs and, carrying a cloth bag, leisurely walked down the mountain.

After a while, Claude finally regained his composure. At this moment, his mind was filled with images of his first kiss with Tiffany. It took him several head shakes to clear that image from his mind, and then he looked around the room in front of him. The room was a rather simple bedroom, with only a wooden bed topped with a relatively thick mattress, an old mahogany wardrobe, and a small wooden table surrounding it. The style of this room reminded Claude somewhat of the type of rural homes where his grandparents on Earth used to live, quite simple and rustic.

Sitting and looking around for a while, Claude then withdrew his gaze and began to focus on checking the information about the store within the system. First, Claude went to check the item shop. At this moment, the shop displayed a wide variety of items, such as equipment, weapons, elixirs, skills, and even divine gear appeared. However, the number of even divine gear appeared is relatively small, but all are blacked out, making it impossible to check the information.

In the item shop system, all items were paid for with coins, and the prices were very diverse. For instance, Claude saw a white leather armor for Beginner hunters priced at 120 coins, with its stats increase being quite clear. However, Claude's balance was a round zero, making it impossible for him to even buy the cheapest leather armor. Glancing through, Claude could easily spot several pieces of equipment and even some slightly powerful skills that caught his eye. Unfortunately, at this moment, Claude could only look on helplessly, his longing not enough to afford any of it.

After a sigh, Claude exited the item shop interface and then went to check the reputation shop. This time, Claude saw that the reputation shop displayed three categories: beauties, divine figures, and rare treasures. Just a glance made him stunned.

"Ah, how come her name is here? Oh, and the name of this person too, oh my god, what is this? How can this be?" Claude couldn't stop widening his eyes as he stared at the interface in front of him.

"Wow, master, are you calling me again?" After a lazy stretch, Rosalie appeared on the Metal Book, looking at Claude.

"Ah… this… Rosalie, why aren't you wearing any clothes?" Claude looked with burning eyes at the petite figure of Rosalie lying on the Metal Book.

"Ah, master, please wait a moment!" It seemed that Rosalie immediately screamed, and then the interface in front of Claude completely disappeared, turning as dark as ink.

"Do you have to react so quickly?" Claude felt a bit regretful as he scratched his head.

If Rosalie were to discern his thoughts at this moment, she would certainly open up a huge array of tasks for him to exhaust himself with. How dare he look at her body and then lament in such an unscrupulous manner?

After a relatively long wait, the Metal Book once again appeared in Claude's mind, while Rosalie peeked out, looking around curiously. Her demeanor at this moment was truly adorable, causing Claude to chuckle and shout: "Hey, hey, what are you looking for? I'm right here, right here! Come out and let me ask you this question!"

"Hmph, I'm really feeling embarrassed to death!" She covered her face with her hands, her voice tinged with embarrassment.

Although Claude was inexperienced in life, seeing her expression made him swallow hard, trying his best to calm himself down.

"Go on, what does the master want to ask?" At this moment, she had regained her previous demeanor, floating above the Metal Book, pouting slightly in a coquettish manner.

Claude blinked continuously, taking a moment before shyly scratching his head and saying: "Ah, actually, it's nothing that important. I just wanted to know, how come legendary characters appear in the reputation shop? What's going on here? Does that mean I can meet them in this world?"

"Exactly, master is truly intelligent! Just now, through the analysis of our company's system, the world where the master has appeared is a parallel world to Earth. And those characters that exist only in Earth's history or legends are real entities in this world. Therefore, the system has analyzed the data and provided specific information to the master to facilitate easier interactions with such characters. The master can recruit them through completing tasks. However, the system would like to remind the master beforehand that before completing the tasks, these characters might bear animosity and end up in the opposing camp against the master! So, please be cautious when interacting with them!" After saying this, Rosalie lazily yawned, covering her mouth, then said: "Well, today Rosalie has expended a lot of energy, so Rosalie needs to rest and recover. With your permission, master, Rosalie will go to sleep now, bye-bye!"

After finishing, she waved her hand, taking the Metal Book and leaving. Claude felt a bit disappointed but then was immensely pleased, thinking to himself: "Wow, this system is getting more and more interesting! Heh heh!"

But at this moment, Claude didn't see outside the window, a pair of green eyes sparkled, intensely watching the room. Then a chilling meow was heard, enough to make one's skin crawl.

Outside the window, a dark shadow flashed by, quickly heading towards the rooftop before completely disappearing. Just as Claude exited the system and heard such a sound, he couldn't help but shiver.

"What was that sound?" Claude glanced at the scenery outside, hesitated for a moment, then got out of bed and walked outside.

Not far away, in another room, Tiffany submerged herself in a bathtub, her head slightly emerging to observe her surroundings, her eyes still filled with utter terror. Clearly, while she was undressing to bathe, she saw a black shadow flash past the window, emitting a sound like a child's cry. Terrified, she had no choice but to jump into the bathtub to hide.
