049 The Aquifer

Yara entered the premises of Emperor's Cove at half past thirty in the morning. It was as majestic as during the daytime, just more serene. She hopped on a golf cart and went around the main palace. The fruit orchard was beyond the ornamental gardens.

Tyler was waiting by the edge of the forest. He smiled warmly on seeing Yara approach. She was dressed in a flowing white gown, which gave her a princess-like appearance. The beauty was about to say something aloud, but Tyler cut her off.

"Speak in whispers if you must," he said.

Yara chose to stay silent. Tyler held her wrist lightly and led her into the fruit orchard. It was dark, but he walked confidently between the trees as if he could see in the dark.

Soon, they reached a beautiful lake. Yara still couldn't believe the premium estate had its own water body!

Under the starlight, the water sparkled but was eerily unmoving. Only the sound of crickets echoed through the forest.
