Chap. 14 Reward for Maria

"Stop!" shouted a girl getting out of the expensive, limited-edition Maybach luxury car. Dress neatly, and look elegant and beautiful. Protected by several guards in black suits. The girl approached Jonathan, who was almost stepped on by the young man standing above him.

"Guards, drag him!" the girl ordered her guards to drag the arrogant young man trying to hurt Jonathan.

"Teach him a lesson, don't stop before he faints."

"Okay, Miss!" a group of men in black coats bowed and left with the young man who had disturbed Jonathan earlier.

"Get up," the girl stretched out her hand, pulling Jonathan curled up on the ground. His clothes were dirty and full of dust.

"Thanks for the help, Miss...?"

"My name is Maria Soriano. Call me Maria; what's your name?"

"Jonathan Smith." Since childhood, Jonathan has been a quiet type and cold. No exception when dealing with girls as beautiful as Maria.

"Good name." praised Maria.

"Thank you," Jonathan brushed the dust off his clothes and looked for the silver necklace.

"What are you looking for?"

"Silver necklace." Jonathan was busy researching the huge campus yard.

"You don't want to know or ask me?"

Jonathan frowned and then turned around to look at Maria.

"You seem very cold, even to the person who helped you," complained Maria.

"I will repay all I owe you one day, Miss Soriano," said Jonathan firmly.

Maria snorted in annoyance. Jonathan's face was handsome and full of mystery. But his cold demeanor and stubbornness made her annoyed. And unfortunately, she was already interested for the first time they met.

"Okay, can I ask for something in return if I can help you find your favorite necklace?" asked Maria with a mysterious smile.

Jonathan stared intently at Maria's beautiful face in front of him.

"I am an incapable young man, as long as your request is reasonable. I will gladly grant it."

"Is that true?" asked Maria enthusiastically.

"I am a man who keeps promises."

"Excuse me, I have class this morning." Jonathan left Maria standing still, staring at Jonathan.

"Young Lady," one of the bodyguards approached Maria.

"Find out who he is, his family, and his full identity."

"All right, Miss."

Maria smiled and took Jonathan's silver necklace from her trouser pocket.

"A trip or a romantic dinner? In exchange for this necklace. Two confusing choices." mumbled Maria.

"Hi, Jonathan?" Maria met Jonathan, who was reading a book in the library.

"Hi, Maria." Jonathan continued reading the book.

"I found your necklace."

Jonathan looked up at Maria.

"I keep your promise."

"What do you want?" Jonathan asked, probing.

"I want you to accompany me for a walk."

"Only that?" Jonathan made sure.

"Yeah, that's all." Maria smiled sweetly.

"Two more days, I have time; where will we meet?"

"After finishing college, I'll be waiting for you in front of this campus."

"Okay, I understand, Maria."

Two days later.

"Sorry, I'm late." Jonathan half ran over to Maria.

"It's okay; I just arrived too." Maria looked different than usual. The girl's looks have doubled her beauty. Meanwhile, Jonathan, still the same, wore jeans and a plain shirt that looked shabby.

"Come in!" a black Maybach brand car was already in front of them. The driver, already standing, opened the car door.

Jonathan got into the car after Maria overtook him.

"Fancy mall," Maria said to the driver. A luxury mall, especially for the wealthy and upper-class visitors. Must wear branded clothes to enter.

"I don't think it's right; we go there."

"Why?" asked Maria, turning her head.

"Look at my clothes."

Maria smiled; she understood what Jonathan meant. "I brought special clothes for you. Change your clothes with this; problem solved." Maria handed him a bag with the logo of a famous boutique, filled with men's clothes.

Jonathan is silent; he will follow all requests from Maria to get the silver necklace left by his late father.

"Your silences, I think you agree."

After arriving at the mall, Maria got off the car and told Jonathan to change his clothes.

After fifteen minutes of waiting, Jonathan got out of the car with a different appearance. Brand new jeans, a branded white shirt lined with a denim jacket, and top-of-the-line sneakers. Jonathan looked very handsome, like a young master from a wealthy family.
